Bang!
A loud bang suddenly echoed throughout the small room.
There lying on the floor, a somewhat good looking youth—lay dead.
Not really dead. But at least that's what appeared to look like.
The youth laying on the floor, weakly opened his eyes. Realizing that his not on his bed, he lazily sat up—but failed to do so on his first attempt.
"Ahh! That hurts!"
The youth screamed in pain—but not the pain from falling. Looking at it, this youth's body are full of bandages. Bruises can be seen on his face. No matter how one look at it, this bruises indicated that it is obtained from a fist fight.
"Those bastards really did it for real. Ganging up on me? See if I won't kick your ass next time."
The youth complained loudly. But on the outside, he seems not too serious about it. But one can see—in the eyes of the youth—bitterness, hatred, and savageness can be found.
The "bastards" he's talking about would be the guys, who's jealous of his popularity with the girls. Well, his somewhat good looking after all. Though even if that's the case, that should not result to a fist fight. The fact that his poor financially added to it. The bastards got really cocky and flaunted their strength. Strength? Can that even be called strength? Gang strength? Haa! That's bullshit. Only if you have real strength yourself can you have the authority to flaunt it all over the world. If you don't have that, you better stop, or else sooner or later—you'll be devoured.
This youth, Kuroba Ryuu is a 3rd year high school student. Studying at XXXX High School. He will be graduating this year, and will try to step at the door of university.
"Hah—well, never mind that. It's already 7. I should get ready, lest I'll be late."
Sighing, Ryuu got up and wen't to the bathroom to take a shower.
----
After taking his shower, he went to the fridge to eat something—only to find it empty.
Ahh, poor me I'm broke.
Should I get more part time job? Nay, that would be too tiring.
Should I just become a gigolo? Nay, that's f*cking out of the question—though that would be good for money.
Thinking of this, Ryuu just laughed and shook his head.
What should I do for this week's meal? Should I ask for an advance payment? Haha.
Ryuu laughed, though it's a dry laughter.
No way, I've already ask an advance before. It'd be too shameless of me if I would ask another. Besides, who knew that it will not backfire on me? Asking for an advance twice, I'll be kick out for sure.
Arriving at this point, Ryuu can only sigh at his situation.
Haah~ I should just get by with water for now. Water? I wonder how long would that last—
Thus, Ryuu—with nothing—drank a mouthful of water. Man, this shitty breakfast—can it even be called a breakfast?
After "eating" his so called "breakfast", Ryuu changed to his uniform and went to school.

First person POV
I went out of the house and started walking towards the school.
Will those guys start lashing out at me again today? Should not be.
They should have already tasted the might of my fist. Even though there's only one me, I'm not one to easily back down from a challenge—or should I just call it pure bullying?
Well, doesn't matter. If they do attack me, then it can't be helped. It will just become another brawl, yep. It's not like we are fighting to our deaths, but even if that indeed is the case, I won't hold back. Killing? I haven't killed before, but if given a choice to save myself or someone important to me, then I won't even have a moment of hesitation—kill or be killed, survival of the fittest—is the rule of the jungle after all. However, that's only superficial as it won't really turn out that way. BUt there's always the "what-ifs'", so I better prepare for that. I somehow feel this way these days.
As I was walking down the street, there seems to be a lot of people pointing at me.
Ahh, are they perhaps looking at my way because of this bandages? Yeah, a handsome young man covered in bandages is pitiful indeed, but that only adds more to his manly charms. Kekeke, am I a narcissist perhaps? Nay, I'm not being narcissist. I'm just stating facts—ohh, me.
There seems to be a lot of people today, especially a lot of girls——ahhh——how can I forget, today is valentines day, a day of love. Tsk tsk, these people are so devoted on their love, ain't they?
This time of the year is the bane of single guys—well, not for me. I've got food—or not, I've got internet—nay! I don't have internet at home. Kah! This day is a bane for me as well. Hoho—should I start dating someone? Hah, a pain in the ass.
While I was talking to myself, suddenly——I heard a scream. I look around and it seems people are pointing to somewhere. I followed their sight and found there—a beautiful young woman, with a short light-blue hair wearing earphones—seems like she's listening to some music as she was busy looking at her phone and humming without even noticing her surroundings and the approaching danger. No that's not it, there's a truck coming!
You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
What are these people doing! Are they just going to stand there and watch as the truck hit the girl, I won't absolutely allow it.
"Ohh no! F**ka—chan!" I instinctively shout out a character from a manga as I found this situation similar.
I run towards F**ka—chan, I mean the young beautiful woman. And pull her out of the way—but in the proccess—we actually exchange places! And thus the approaching truck slowly made its way towards me.
Time seems to slow down—is this the sign that my life is going to end? I often see this in anime or movies. Ahh, I became the victim of truck-san.
F**ka—chan seems to be surprised, but suddenly realize what's happening.
She hurriedly went to my side to check me, and dialed her phone.
"Hello hello, there's a traffic accident at XXX St.! Please come and hurry up as someone is critically injured!" as F**ka-chan said this, the corner of her eyes are becoming moist.
I don't know who's F**ka—chan talking to as I can no longer hear my surroundings. But it's probably the medic——ahh F**ka—chan is crying. Don't cry Fuuka-chan, we are only strangers, nothing more, and I've finally save the real F**ka, so this life of mine in exchange for yours have not been wasted.
"Stay with me! I can't let you die, or else——there's one more less handsome in the world. I——It would be a waste if I can't get a taste of you!"
Holy f*ck, this F**ka—chan turned out to be a slut, a fake! Aaahhh! My pitiful life, give it back to me! My sacrificed just ended in vain!
After saying so, my vision finally went dim.
------
After Ryuu died, he found himself into nothingness, only the color of "black" could be seen no matter where he look.
"Huh? Where am I? Didn't I died just a while ago? Or is this perhaps the after life? But there's nothing here, is this really the after life?"
Ryuu seems confused as to why he was brought here, and exactly what this place is.
But suddenly——a chilling voice, cold enough to freeze the air itself, echoed throughout the empty space.
"Welcome, descendant."
Hearing the sudden voice freaked the hell out of Ryuu as he responded back on instinct, "WHO!"
"Don't be tense, descendant. I'm not thine enemy."
The voice is cold and archaic. Like living in hell for a thousand years.
Hearing it, Ryuu's body can't help but shiver.
"Then who are you?" but nevertheless, Ryuu is not really that afraid. He is just wary of the "unknown".
"I am your ancestor, you are my descandant." replied the voice—thus again.
"Ancestor? You've been talking since earlier about me being your descendant. Who are you really?"
"The one who once governed the world, the former King of the dragon kind, KING of the Black Dragons." replied the voice majestically, though the voice is somewhat melancholy.
"Seeing that I'm in here, what you're saying must be true."
Haha, a real dragon, you serious? This can only happen in a novel, oi!
But since I'm in this unknown place, and this "unknown" being who claimed to be a dragon, so it's not that much of a stretch.
But...
"Past tense, why are you using past tense? And why am I your decendant?"
Indeed this is what bothers Ryuu.
"As for your first question. I've already perished."
"Huh? Then why are you here?" confused, Ryuu asked.
"Then how come you're here." thus refuted the "dragon"
"Uhh, that indeed is the case. Then, we are totally dead?"
"I am but you're not."
"You are but I'm not. What do you mean?"
Ryuu, hearing that his not totally dead, asked somewhat suprised.
"This place is your conciousness, or should I say our conciousness. Only those who are fated to become Kings can enter this place."
"Your body died, but that's only your human body—and you can even reconstruct it however you wish. Your outer-self died but it can be revived. As long as the soul is intact—we dragons—will never trully die." the KING answered solemnly.
"As for your second question. You have the blood of a black dragon—purer than anyone—running through your veins. As for why you have it, maybe you inherited it from your parents, or you really just have the trait."
"Parents? Haha, no way. They're just ordinary people."
"What I mean is your 'real' parents."
Hearing the dragon says the word "real", Ryuu was shocked. This is indeed a possibility.
"Real—haha, what do you mean by that?"
"Have you ever ask your parents if they are really 'your' parents?"
"Uh, no."
"Then you can't know for sure—but this does not 100% confirms it. There's still the possibility of you having born with the trait."
"Hmm, that's true... Is being a dragon makes you thirst for blood?"
"Hooh? So you've noticed? Indeed—but that only applies to us—black dragons."
"Ohh—so that's why I've been feeling strange those days...." Thinking to this point, Ryuu settled down and went back to the former question.
"You say this place is our conciousness. And that dragons can revive even if they die physically, that means I can still revived... But you on the other hand—"
As if reading Ryuu's thoughts, the Dragon King cut him off and said,
"Correct, you are indeed smart. As expected of the future KING. This is the one last bit of my conciousness. I've been in a slumber for a long time—waiting, waiting for a thousand years for a descendant to resurface the world again."
"The war from that year brought catastrophe to the dragon kind—wiping the black and white altogether."
Sorrow can be felt through the Dragon King's voice.
Ryuu noticed it, but pretended not to know. He's more interested of 'that war'.
"Huh? War? What war?"
"You will know about it sooner or later—time will tell."
"Now then, my conciousness is fading. I'll pass down my knowledge onto you. You already had the power, you just need the knowledge in order to use it."
After saying this, a black light flew over towards Ryuu.
Ryuu screamed in pain for a while not until the black light vanished.
"That should be it. You'll be automatically transported to a world called Lafin—the homeland of our race. The mana there should be sufficient to activate your power."
"On a side note, you can use your power to travel between worlds. So you can go back to your world anytime but you still need to train for that. Don't be in a rush in going home, you should enjoy your stay in Lafin. Then————"
"I have only one request of you OH future King. Your soul is much much more stronger than mine. Perhaps the strongest I have ever seen. You wielded the power—the strongest power of the dragon kind. Use that power——to conquer the world and protect it."
His view faded, and as if dreaming—saw a Black Dragon facing its back towards him. Spreading its wings while facing the sun roaring—a roar that made the heavens tremble.
So this is the former King? So powerful! So majestic! Will I also become like that? He said I'm even stronger than him. Looks like the start of a new life is waiting for me. I should enjoy my stay at Lafin before going home.
Ryuu thus decided, but he never knew——that his stay on Lafin would become one of the most trajic events in his entire life.
