Year 2036 AD, May 18th.
Bob's Virtual Corporation, the leading research company in the field of virtual reality, announced the official release of its first full dive virtual reality technology, the Diver.
Year 2036 AD, May 22nd.
An event was held at Bob's main headquarters, showcasing the Diver to the public. However, to the disappointment of most of the general populace, the Diver was not meant for general usage. Each Diver costs five million dollars.
The Diver was a mainly a three meter tube equipped with heart rate monitors, brain wave monitors, air purifiers, and etc. The Diver was the pioneer for full dive technology, hence it focused more on functionality than appearance.
After the appearance of the Diver, research in many fields faced a leap in progress, resulting in many technological breakthroughs, bringing the Earth into a new era of virtual reality.
Year 2037 AD, May 22nd.
The first commercialized full dive virtual reality technology, the Dreamer, was unveiled at Bob's headquarters a year after the Diver has been released. Similar to the Diver, it was tube-shaped, and had less but better functions than its predecessor. The Dreamer costs fifty thousand dollars, only a hundredth of the Diver.
Alongside the release of the Dreamer, the leading researcher and CEO of Bob's Virtual Corporation, Bob Grand, has announced the simultaneous release of the first Full Dive Virtual Reality Fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FDVRFMMORPG), [A New World].
[A New World] was a trillion dollar project, contributed solely by Bob's Virtual Corporation. The game boasted graphics like no other, time compression (perception) down to a third of real-time, and many more never before seen features.
Despite the steep pricing of the Dreamer, over ten million units were sold within the first month of its release. Unsurprisingly, the game [A New World] had received the same amount of purchases as the machine itself, even with the annual subscription fee of one thousand dollars, which includes the personal broadband for the game itself.
Video footage of the game was released to the public, garnering the attention of billions. Many had voiced out, and some even complaining for Bob's Virtual Corporation to release a watered out version of the Dreamer, making it more affordable.

On the Dreamer and [A New World]'s first anniversary, the Bob Mark 1, a super low-cost full dive virtual reality technology was released to the general populace. The BM1 consists of a single headset, or helmet, which connects the brain to the virtual network.
The BM1 lacked many features of its predecessors due to its compact size, but its synchronizing rate with the brain was by far the best in the world, enabling time compression down to a quarter of real-time. The BM1 only costs a thousand dollars, becoming affordable to most of the general populace.
As to celebrate the welcoming of billions of new users to the full dive community, the annual subscription for [A New World] was permanently reduced by half, garnering the attention of many more.
With [A New World] still being the only full-dive game available, its player base rose from 23 million to 3.8 billion within the first month of BM1's release.

Bob Grand, head researcher and CEO of Bob's Virtual Corporation, shocked the world with his announcement of retirement. His final words were as follows --- "Sayonara suckers."
However, shortly after Bob left the industry, the development towards new virtual reality technology came to a standstill. The available technology as well, started facing troubling issues with the lack of updates to its operating system and hardware maintenance.
Due to an uncountable amount of complaints, Bob was forced out of retirement by both the general populace and the world's government.
Year 2040 AD, May 22nd.
After properly passing on his knowledge to hundreds of successors, Bob Grand once again resigned from the virtual industry. His final words were as follows --- "I'm never coming back this time!"
Fortunately, Bob's presence was no longer required this time, as his successors had done a satisfying job in his absence.
Year 2060 AD, May 22nd.
Bob Grand disappeared.
