“Junior, do you dare?!”
The shout resounded from the throat of an elderly gentleman whose entire body radiated power and authority. Even the slightest reverberation of his voice would bring mortals to their knees and freeze the weaker cultivators of the clan on the spot. The man puffed up his chest proudly at his display, only for his face to fall as he spotted the disappointment of the man sitting across from him.
“No, no, no.” Lu Bu shook his head vigorously. The elder could tell that the Clan Advisor was taking his task extremely seriously. “Stop adding the word ‘do’. You need to be swift and fierce. Three words. The perfect number. Your voice is also too low. You are shouting at my face but not instilling any fear in me. Now repeat after me.” Lu Bu cracked his knuckles and stretched his neck from side to side as he drew in a deep breath. “JUNIOR, YOU DARE?”
The elder hesitated. “I just don’t see why we need to take away a word.”
A single withering stare from Lu Bu convinced the elder to shut up.
“JUNIOR, YOU DARE?” The elder layered his voice with energy as he brought all of his vocal training and cultivation to the forefront.
Lu Bu bobbed his head in satisfaction as he saw the hut around him trembling from the vibrations caused by the elder’s voice.
“This is a proper shout.” Lu Bu’s fingers stroked his chin as the elder flustered at the praise. “You say you are following young master Han tomorrow? You are not even from this clan. Truly you have come a long way to visit me today.”
"Yes." The elder nodded enthusiastically. "The young master wishes to go on another one of his shopping sprees."
Lu Bu nodded absentmindedly. He had a vague recollection of the young master in question. A pretentious and cocky little brat from a faraway clan that abused his father’s name to get what wasn’t his. The boy had left a trail of broken bones on his trails as he blatantly stole from store owners, claimed women as his own and even killed bystanders if he felt they had disrespected him.
In other words, he was a prime target for Lu Bu’s machinations.
“Yes, yes. The young master truly is splendid and magnificent.” Lu Bu smiled as he thought of the rewards he would reap from this endeavour. “Remember my advice. You are an elder of your luxurious clan and you must act as such. If somebody approaches the young master, you must absolutely not reveal yourself. And if they attack him, you must allow him to fight his own fight. Especially if it is with another member of the younger generation. Only if he is on the verge of death should you appear.”
“But what if the young master perishes before I can intervene?” The elder probed carefully.
Lu Bu looked down at him in disdain. “Do you truly think a commoner could possibly kill young master Ham so easily?”
“Han.” The elder gently corrected Lu Bu, only to come face to face with another glare. “You are correct Clan Advisor. Your wisdom is boundless and your style impeccable.”
“That’s right.” Lu Bu grinned. “With practice, you will one day be able to strike fear into anyone opposing the young master, and impress him with your display. Perhaps he will even put in a word with his father of your good deeds and imposing nature.”
The elder thanked Lu Bu profusely and left the Clan Advisor’s hut to meet up with the young master. The moment the cultivator left his sight, Lu Bu leaned back and sighed happily.
“Another fool rushing to bring his clan to ruin.” Lu Bu chuckled as he imagined the surprise on that elder’s face when somebody stabbed his young master to death in front of him. “Or maybe the young master will survive to fight again. That’ll be fun.”
Lu Bu couldn’t care less about the events themselves, but he had to plan carefully for whichever scenario presented itself. If something caught him off guard and a hero attacked any clan before Lu Bu could cut all ties with them, then he would have to start over or even fight for his life against an overpowered prepubescent child with clan slaughter on his mind.
“Why do those damn protagonists always have to go and kill every generation and person in the clan?” Lu Bu complained into the air.
Despite being that clan’s advisor for a year he didn’t have a shred of sympathy or compassion when thinking of their destruction. God had tasked him with destroying them in the first place. If he started feeling guilt now, then he’d have to quit his job.
He hadn't even started trying to destroy the clan he was living in.
His mission was to destroy one thousand evil clans. One second he had been on his computer reading Chinese web novels and the next he’d woken up and was told he’d died of a heart attack. The mission to destroy clans was the prerequisite given to him when the god of this world had reincarnated him into it. If he could destroy that many clans during his lifetime, the god had promised to bring him back to his own world to live peacefully.
So far he had taken ten years to destroy 36.
‘How do I know if a clan is evil?’ That had been the first question Lu Bu asked the god.
[Any clan that opposes the ideals of my chosen heroes are evil.]
‘Well, that doesn’t help me at all.’ Lu Bu had spent quite a few years being mad at the god that had dumped him into this world with no advice or advantages.

He hadn’t even been able to start from scratch and become a child genius. Instead, god had placed him into the body of a recently deceased mortal. It was only once he’d joined his first clan that he’d realised what made a ‘chosen hero’.
“Clan Advisor? We heard you speaking and thought you were calling for us.”
Lu Bu looked up from his comfortable position and spotted two elderly gentlemen looking at him calmly. One had dressed from head to toe in yellow and the other wore red. They stared at the floor with their heads lowered in respect.
“Toomie. Jeff.” Lu Bu sat upright and with a flourish of his wrist, a powerful and imposing demeanour replaced his relaxed posture. He gestured at them to raise their heads and then sighed as they completely missed it because they were looking down. “Raise your heads. Jeff, please bring in my next client. Who did you say it was again?”
“Young master Shi, sir. He is the young master of the clan we are currently residing in.” Jeff respectfully explained and with a wave of Lu Bu's hand he departed to locate the young master in question.
Of course, Toomie and Jeff weren’t their real names, but Lu Bu had long ago forgotten their names and he found the nicknames familiar in a way that he missed. He couldn’t even use his own name from before he’d reincarnated, he’d instead had to claim the first name that came to his head. And Lu Bu was the only one he could think of.
Toomie waited expectantly for a few seconds but after seeing that Lu Bu didn’t have any jobs for him, he respectfully exited the area. Lu Bu appreciated the exit. Jeff and Toomie shared completely different roles in the Clan Advisor organisation. Jeff was a personal assistant and Toomie was the person who Lu Bu entrusted to take care of more… troublesome matters.
“Clan Advisor Lu Bu!” A loud and boisterous voice surprised Lu Bu out of his thoughts as a red-haired young man covered head to toe in flowing white robes entered the hut.
Lu Bu eyed the man from top to bottom and crossed his arms. He could see that this young master wasn’t a person he could use to cause trouble straight away. The boy carried an axe with delicate red designs flowing across it on his shoulder and even his robes seemed to be embroidered with dragons and phoenixes. If this young master wasn’t a hot-headed fire-type cultivator, then Lu Bu would eat his own hat.
The red hair especially gave it away.
This wasn’t the kind of young master that went walking around the streets, harassing shop vendors. This was a person that picked fights with worthy opponents and was then beaten down into a pulp.
“Let me guess. You have a tournament coming up.” He saw the young master’s ears perk up. “Ha. And you want some advice on how to approach the other contestants because you have always ended up fighting and arguing against them because of your hotheaded nature.”
“Clan Advisor is wise.” Young master Shi didn’t hold back as he heard Lu Bu’s words. “The clan elders have sent me to you to learn the basic courtesies these weakli- er, civilised cultivators use.”
“Tell me, is there a dark horse scheduled for this tournament that you’re particularly interested in?”
“A dark horse?” Young master Shi’s eyes crossed as he thought over the combatants he had heard about. Then his eyes widened as he remembered a rumor he’d heard. “I suppose those people could count. There is a clan that has entered the tournament unexpectedly. They nearly did not get in due to not being invited, however, they could enter because they defeated an invitation holder unexpectedly. They should not be too strong. Their clan used to be a powerhouse within our area; however, in recent years they have declined and have been brought into near poverty. I heard they were even recruiting mortal children from the slums to bring up their numbers.”
A slight look of disgust crossed the young masters face before he replaced it with a blank expression. If the young master had been a true cultivator, then his emotions would be completely in check. However, this also meant that he could be manipulated and counted on to blow up at exactly the wrong time.
‘There it is.’ A grin spread across Lu Bu’s face. He shook his grin off and turned to the young master with a solemn expression. “I see, this is distressing news. Do not worry. I am here to help you with all your problems. Now then, our clan was in the top four during the last tournament was it not? Let us establish where the hierarchy is. The first thing you should do is completely forget about stopping your emotions from appearing.”
“We are not bottling them up?” The young master’s expressed his surprise. “But the elders-”
“No, no, no.” Lu Bu shook his head as he interrupted the young master. “You must absolutely not bottle up your emotions. Isn’t that what everyone had been saying to you all these years? Where has this terrible advice gotten you so far? But even if you are not keeping your emotions to yourself, you must still learn when to use them.”
A look of enlightenment crossed over the young master’s face as he heard Lu Bu’s words.
“I can see you understand the wisdom behind my words.” Lu Bu tried his best to look sagely. “You must act with the utmost courtesy to those of the same station as you. However, when someone is of a lower position and attempts to put their heads into the clouds where they don’t belong, then you can strike them down with your words and put them in their place. Especially if they look completely ordinary and weak.”
“Why is that?” Young master Shi felt confused but tried his best to hide it.
“Because you belong to a magnificent clan! With an amazing heritage and history!” Lu Bu didn’t hesitate to convince this youngster to take his terrible advice. “If someone dares disrespect you, then you must retaliate with full force, insulting their family, their background and stealing the things which they hold dearest. Especially if this ordinary person presumed to talk to the famed beauty that is attending the tournament.” Lu Bu turned to the young master with curiosity in his eyes. “There is a famed beauty attending this tournament is there not?”
Young master Shi nodded his head but was too scared to talk in the face of Lu Bu’s emotional rant. In fact, he had even had his eyes on this beauty for quite a while. He could slowly feel himself being convinced by Lu Bu’s words. Ordinary people should definitely be put in their place without hesitation.
“Brilliant!” Lu Bu’s eyes shone.
This might be his chance to get this dinky clan destroyed.
“But what if I get angry at someone that is not trying to rise above their station?”
Lu Bu shook his head sadly.
“Then you must treat them with the utmost respect and only take it out on those lesser clans. If you find your anger rising too much, then you should find that dark horse clan and completely let out your anger on them. Even if you have to make up an excuse, cause trouble for them. Maybe even rough up a couple of the ones that are friends with the weaklings, just to show them you are stronger. And if there truly is anyone from that clan being shown favour by this beauty, then you should try your best to separate the two by force.”
“Surely that would be against the wishes of the clan!” The young master shouted in surprise.
Young master Shi could see the disappointment in Lu Bu’s face and felt worried. “I am wrong, but I do not know why. Truly this social knowledge is beyond my grasp. Can you help me master these techniques master Lu Bu?”
Lu Bu stroked his chin and tried to look like a wise old teacher.
“Do not worry young master. I will teach you how to properly treat your fellow cultivators. When the tournament happens, your clan won’t know what hit it.”
