Tyson shot out of his full size bed like a bullet. Feeling a little crazy but not caring in the slightest. Tyson began to speak out loud to himself. "That could not have been a dream! The cool air blowing down on him from his air conditioning vent began to help clear his mind. After taking a few deep breaths to calm his racing heart he felt better. Wanting to confirm to himself if it was just a dream or not he began to look around for the proof he just knew would be there. Sure enough the gold ornamented wooden chest was sitting right in front of his bedroom door. Wanting even more confirmation, he slowly strode over to the chest, knelt down and opened the top. Slightly holding his breath during these actions it let out in a rush when he seen the contents. "Nope, that was definitely not a dream" Tyson said to himself. Small quarter size gold medallions also known as Omni shards hung on racks. Tyson grabbed the medallion at the top; this rack only held one, it was called an Omni Heart. This was the key to accomplishing his goals. All laid out in a grid there were 20 medallions down, 40 medallions wide had 10 medallions stacked on each one.
Just now believing everything in his dream was true Tyson began to go over the list of things he needed to do.
First he needed to harmonize this world. To do so he would need to bring it under the rule of a single individual so everyone would be under one rule of law.
I need to dismantle all nuclear plants and weapons.
Destroy all machines that produce pollution.
Remove as many bad people I can.
erase all religions that foster evil beliefs.
Re plant the entire world with trees and plants.
Foster the growth and repopulation of all wild animals.
Clean up the oceans.
Last but not least I have to relocate humans and greatly reduce the human footprint on earth.
System said that only 1 city should be kept standing out of every 10.
After going over his list Tyson decided to reflect on his conversation with System.
Tyson awoke sitting in a metal chair pulled up to a pristine White table. looking around himself he noticed the room he was in also was white. "I guess white is a fashionable color wherever here is"he thought to himself. across from him was another metal chair and in a blink someone appeared. It was humanoid looking man with slightly pointed ears, a sharp nose, broad shoulders, and slanted eyes that shined a brilliant gold. He was wearing a well tailored black suit and his hands looked as if they had never seen a days labor. However he was very large and muscular. Tyson couldn't tell exactly how tall he was but if he had to guess from just him sitting down he would guess that he was 6'5 or 6'8. Before Tyson could utter a word the man smiled wide showing a perfect white smile and said welcome Tyson. Then waved a glowing hand slowly in front of him towards Tyson. A feeling of peace, calm an understanding filled Tysons chest and he actually felt his thundering heart slow down. Then the man began to speak again just so you know I just placed a calming spell on you I could sense you're emotions were about to overcome your reason. Feeling much better Tyson replied hello what is your name. Call me system. Okay system can you explain what is going on? Yes would you like me to begin now? Yes please Tyson confirmed. Okay, I will start from the beginning. 14,000 years ago give or take a few centuries. The Council of Supreme God's gathering took place at the center of the Universe on a planet named Mega World. It's also known as the planet of the gods but that's not really important. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the upcoming rest cycle. "What is a rest cycle?" Tyson interrupted. Not taking offense System answered. "The Gods are all powerful supreme beings but they do need time off to rest their minds and reflect or they will go insane. Long long ago it was decided by the Council that Gods would rule over their planets for 1 billion years and rest for 1 billion years. This is known as the cycle. Does that answer your question?" " Yes, please continue" "so the subject they were discussing at the council meeting was about a new idea they were going to try for this rest cycle. The Systems creation or my creation if you will. The Gods we're all fed up with the many sentient races always taking advantage of their rest and taking massive leaps in technology during this time." So the Gods dislike technology?" Tyson asked "no the gods have no issue with technology in and of itself. It's the cost the worlds always have to pay in order for sentience to get this knowledge and in some cases destroy their home planets in the process." Tyson grimaced knowing the truth of what System said. "Yes, I see you understand." "I do understand what your saying because humans are guilty of that exact thing, but why is this a big deal for the Gods?" " Well gods are in fact formed from the core of a world. The health of their mother world dictates the strength they gain from it and the health of a world is determined by many things, and one of them is the balance of nature. Another is the emotional stability of it's sentient races that reside on it. the world will actually emulate the emotions of the majority. So if the world is smothered in pollution in the air and the oceans, a dozen countries are at war or on the brink, and the vast majority of people are selfish, insecure, over opinionated assholes that love nothing more than to ruin other people's days then… " " Well that sucks" Tyson replied in a flat voice. "indeed" system agreed then continued "as bad as all that is I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet. So at this council meeting they decided to make me to govern the universe in their absence. My directive is to introduce cultivation to the sentient races, and put a stop to any advanced technology. You see planets naturally go into hibernation when they notice the absence of a god. Their natural state of being is to provide gods with power. However it is bad for worlds to stay dormant for 1 billion years and continuing the cycle as usual would soon start causing worlds to die. So they enacted their plan. All the Gods gathered there and lent their godly essence to the creation of me. As they vanished, a thick fog was produced. From this I was formed. However after taking form and gathering my many jumbled thoughts I realized what had been done. The goddess who created the spell that made me fooled everyone. She wished to die. I know all the reasons but none of that is important for you to know. I am far more powerful than any god to exist but within me is embedded several rules I can not break and must abide by. After gaining my wits, I communicated with the mega world core. He explained to me that after feeling the gods fade away he began his hibernation. Soon though my essence began to rapidly spread around the world. He said it felt like a wave of gods was washing over his surface and his immediate instinct was to ramp up his core in order to supply them. However it wasn't a bunch of gods and he knew that and halted. However with just those few moments of instinct drivin cultivation from a world core the extra mana introduced to the world created and altered many monsters. Megas sentient races are a hardy bunch but they will still suffer many losses before their cultivators advance enough to make a difference. Mega is taking it slow and only introducing small amounts So they will not be overwhelmed by the evolving beasts. However the other planets have not and will not be so fortunate. There are no other fully sentient world cores that can understand the difference between my essence and the old gods. Once my presence wraps around their planets they immediately begin to rotate and actively cultivate their cores. In all the knowledge I have available to me I have not found anything that would suggest world cores could cultivate. I am taking in as much power as I can hold and spreading my essence as rapidly as possible in order to keep up. It's working for now but I can already tell that I will have to expand beyond the bounds of our home universe.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The next issue is the other pantheons. My main directive is to spread and introduce cultivation to sentient races. They will try to stop me when they come to claim our universe. I need cultivators as strong as gods to help me defeat them." "Wow that's a lot to unpack but that spell of yours seems to be making it easy to understand and categorize everything. I guess my first question is where does earth fit in to this? And secondly why am I who your talking to? Surely there are better options than me." " Gia is special. Her core is an Omni Core. She can produce all aspects of mana. Every sentient in the universe resonates with at least one aspect. Most cores from other worlds have a dozen aspects to offer it's sentients at most, yet she has them all. There are only 34.. well 33… now, worlds with cores such as hers and they have always produced the most powerful gods in the universe but even among Omni Cores she is the most special because the level of power Omnis are capable of depends on their size. The next largest Omni is less than half Gias size. So the cultivators she produces will be the strongest in this universe.
In order to give my mission the best chance of success I have deemed it necessary to make a sacrifice. I have taken the core from our third largest Omni.. Solstice and refined it into 8000 Omni shards and a single Omni heart. They are here in this chest." System stood up from his chair and glided across the white room to a plain white wall. In an instant part of the wall disappeared and behind it was the chest he referred to. System bent down and lifted the medium sized wooden and gold chest with no effort at all and brought it back to the table. With the first hint of playfulness Tyson had witnessed from system the large figure of System opened the chest with a big smile and Throwing a had our wide said "ta-da! This is the most valuable thing any sentient has ever seen. Congratulations!" Inside the ornate chest was rows upon rows of coin sized medallions hanging on metal hooks. At the top of all of them he noticed a hook that had only one. "that must be the Omni Heart" Tyson said as he pointed at it. "You are indeed correct" System affirmed. "Ok so I'm following most of what you've said except you haven't answered why me and now another question is what exactly are these" Tyson said as he pointed at the chest. "Ill tell you about the shards first the tell you what I can about why I chose you. The Omni Heart is the most precious item in that chest. It will boost you to a cultivation rank of 1000, grant you knowledge and skill of every mana aspect in existence, and gives you authority over the 8000 Omni shards in this chest.
Each shard grants 100 ranks of cultivation and basic knowledge of 10 random mana aspects.
And before you ask, a rank 1000 would put you at the level of a lesser god but with all the aspects at your command I dare say you could trounce any previous elder god of this universe.
No you can't give more than 1 shard to anyone and yes after you consume the Omni Heart you can use shards to increase your rank.
System then steepled his hands to a point and brought it to his mouth in a thinking posture then answered. "I was hoping the shards and heart would make you forget about the why me question but I guess I can let you in on a bit of what I've been up to. The Gods ceased existing as we know it 14000 years ago and in that time I have been running what you would call simulations for a majority of that time. These simulations however are not ones like you understand. I actually live them as if I were there. I have done this exact meeting with every single sentient soul in our universe dozens of times looking for 1 soul that will give us a chance to survive what is to come. Out of all of them yours is the only one that has ever succeeded. I can't tell you much Tyson for it may doom us all if I do but after many attempts I have traded out what is safe. You Tyson are only just meeting me for the first time but I have known you for eons upon eons. We have stood together countless times and faced down monsters that could swallow planets. We have conquered thousands of planets and over a dozen universes. In all that time you have never betrayed me or let me down. You are the best man and friend I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and there is nothing I would not do for you my brother. So listen please to my words and heed them with everything you have.
Over the next few years you are going to have to do some horrific things that you will carry in your heart forever. People will call you a monster. You will be hated and despised by all on earth for generations. You will hate yourself for what you must do to save them." Tyson's head had dropped in worry and consternation by this point but System was having none of it. "you look at me Tyson! I would trade the life of every sentient on your planet and many others for yours without hesitation! To bring your soul here to give you a 3 year headstart and send you back home with that chest is costing the lives of trillions as we speak. I am forcing links in a chain between planets and connecting more every second to gain the strength to send this chest back with you. When you leave those planets will explode. And guess what I would destroy a 1000 more planets if it gave you just 1 more day to prepare." Tyson paled "you are that important! and not just because you are the only hope this universe has to survive but because I love you more than everyone else combined brother. I will carry as many burdens as you will let me. After you consume the heart you can contact me at any time but there will be a cost. You will be weakened for 12 hours. Also I will scan your planet from time to time and let you know your progress on getting earth prepared for Gias awakening." Feeling it was almost time Tyson stood from his seat and a blink later the table and chairs disappeared. System walk over and embraced him roughly and said into his ear in a tight voice." Stay safe and work fast brother. I will join you in 3 years and always remember you are not alone I am with you. Farewell my friend.
