The Before

In the beginning there was nothing but the boundless expanse of potential. A timeless void where the threads of what could be lay dormant in the dark. This was the gestation of all, the breathless hush before the symphony of existence commenced. It was a canvas unpainted, a story untold, an anticipation waiting for the first note to be played - the note that would herald the dawn of all.

Within this vast cradle of possibility, there existed only Primus, the infinite embodiment of existence. A singular consciousness, the root of all that was and all that ever could be, an unquantifiable singularity where all was one, and one was all. Primus was the silent omnipresence, the enduring constant, the one truth from which all truths would spring forth.

In the heart of Primus, a stirring whispered into being - this was Secunda, the essence of change. With Secunda's arrival, the harmony of sameness that Primus held was given its counterpart, its reflection, its necessary discord. For change was the hand that would cradle the sands of time, the architect of evolution, the promise of moments yet to bloom.

As Primus and Secunda found their rhythm in the dark, their intertwining dance began to weave the fabric of possibilities. A cosmic loom operated by forces beyond comprehension, crafting the intricate garment of existence thread by thread, pattern by pattern.

From their union, their interplay of stillness and motion, emerged Tertia. She brought with her the spectrum of chance and randomness, the wild and unbound strands that would weave through the ordered tapestry. Tertia danced with reckless grace between the methodical steps of Primus and the flowing movements of Secunda, every step sowing the seeds of untold stories.

The presence of Tertia introduced complexity and depth to the creation unfolding. She infused the fabric of possibilities with subplots and twists, with alternate endings and new beginnings. Under her influence, the fabric became a dynamic and unpredictable place, filled with a multitude of paths, each a journey through the myriad dimensions of what might be.

From these three Prime Abstracts - Primus, the constant; Secunda, the changer; and Tertia, the randomizer - the foundations of all that exists were laid. And in their wake, the core domains of existence took shape, each embodied by deities of incomprehensible power and prescence. These deities did not stand apart from the Fabric of Possibilities but existed within and throughout it, their essences intertwined with the very threads of reality.

Aeterna, Time's Sovereign, spun the relentless march of moments into the great tapestry. Her dominion stretched from the first spark of creation to the quietude that would follow the last whisper of movement in the cosmos. With each fold and pleat, she wove the past, commanded the present, and orchestrated the future, a trinity of temporal threads that bound all existence.

Infinitas, the boundless Architect, stretched the canvas upon which Aeterna's time would flow. Her breath was the dark expanse of the void; her bones, the structure of galaxies and realms beyond mortal comprehension. She drew the map of all that was, is, and ever could be, a boundless geography that offered the stage for the drama of existence.

Causalis, the Seer of Sequences, etched the intricate lines of causality into being. He was the craftsman of correlation, the chronicler of consequence, ensuring that for every action there coursed an equal and measured reaction, a perpetual dance of cosmic balance that left nothing to chance.

Materia, the Artisan of Atom and Element, sculpted the substance of all creation. From the stardust to the mountain stone, from the rivers' flow to the marrow in bone, her hands molded the physical, giving weight, texture, and color to the formless and void.

Vitalis, the Giver of the Spark, breathed the essence of life into Materia's creations. She was the pulse of energy that coursed through vein and vine, the soft murmur in the growth of all living things, the indefinable force that separates the animate from the inanimate.

Mortem, the Harbinger of Endings, walked in silent partnership with Vitalis. His presence was the promise of rest and renewal, the completion of the circle that Vitalis began. In his shadow bloomed the potential for new life, for in the fall of one leaf is the nourishment of the next spring.

Conscientia, the Illuminator of Minds, bestowed the gift of awareness. In the depth of her gaze, sentience sparked, igniting the flame of consciousness in beings who would gaze upon the stars and ponder their place within the grand design.

Emotio, the Painter of Passions, brought depth and richness to the canvas of existence. Through her, joy and sorrow, love and fear became the experiences that would define countless lives, the spectrum of feelings that would color every memory and decision.

Voluntas, the Patron of Purpose, instilled the yearning for action and the resolve to see it through. Within her domain, every creature found the strength to change the world in small ways and large, forging their own paths with the power of their intent.

Arcanum, the Keeper of Secrets and Wielder of the Arcane, held dominion over the hidden corners of reality. In the spaces between the known and unknown, his whispers shaped the mysteries of magic, of energies that defied the rigid laws set by his siblings, offering a glimpse into the power that lies in the unexplained and the undiscovered.

Together, these deities of the core domains, each a master of their own infinite realms within the Fabric of Possibilities, governed the multifaceted symphony of existence. They did not rule over the universe as sovereigns but rather lived as integral parts of it, their actions and wills entwined with the strands woven by Primus, Secunda, and Tertia, creating an ever-expanding, ever-evolving masterpiece - a tapestry alive with the constant interplay of creation, transformation, and destiny.

As the deities wove the tapestry of existence, the strands of possibility grew dense, the intersections many. It was within the heart of this complexity that the concept of a realm for mortals - a crucible of life, learning, and legacy - began to take form. This would be a world less abstract than those governed by the gods, where the ethereal met the material, where the pure essences of the divine could mingle with the tangible, mutable realities of physical existence.

The mortal realm was thus ordained to be a garden of infinite diversity, a place of solid ground and vibrant skies, of mountains that knew the weight of time and rivers that remembered every raindrop. Into this realm, the gods poured their dominion, each contributing a thread to the quilt of reality that draped over this new world. Aeterna wove the cycles of day, night, and seasons in an endless march. Infinitas carved out the expanse, ensuring the realm had room to breathe and grow. Causalis drew the lines of logic and physics, creating order among the elements, while Materia filled the space with matter, giving birth to continents, oceans, and all the building blocks of life.

Vitalis followed, sparking the heartbeat of the world, a pulse that resonated with every new form that crawled, flew, and swam. Mortem's touch brought balance to Vitalis's vibrancy, gifting each creature with the solemn knowledge of life's fragility. Conscientia blessed the mortals with the light of thought, giving rise to dreams and ambitions, while Emotio painted their lives with the colors of joy and pain. Voluntas bestowed upon them the power of will, the ability to shape their destiny, and Arcanum sprinkled the seeds of magic, hidden in the fabric of the mortal realm, waiting to be discovered by those with the curiosity to look deeper.

Yet in the continuum of creation, there was an element unaccounted for, a facet of existence that defied the meticulous designs of the deities, an unpredictable force that would come to be known as Quartus. Neither bound by the threads of Primus nor swayed by the changing currents of Secunda, Quartus was the embodiment of the unforeseen, of accidents and anomalies that sprouted in the otherwise seamless loom of reality.

As the divine siblings poured their essences into the cradle of the mortal realm, Quartus surged forth from the spaces in between, the tiny rifts where the fabric seemed to fold upon itself, creating a maelstrom of chaos in the orderly expanse of creation. It twisted the threads of possibility into knots of paradoxes and enigmas, imbuing the mortal realm with anomalies that defied the deities' design. Mountains sprung up only to crumble inexplicably, rivers flowed uphill, and creatures evolved in impossible ways, adapting to the constant flux of their environment.

Each deity attempted to correct these anomalies and bring their realm back to the envisioned harmony. But Quartus was a Prime Abstract, seemingly as fundamental to the tapestry as Primus, Secunda, and Tertia, and could not be simply expunged. The more the deities exerted their powers to mend the threads, the more Quartus interwove the unforeseen.

In the face of Quartus's chaotic influence, the deities found their previously incomprehensible power and presence to be greatly diminished. Where once they had been the unquestioned architects and rulers of the mortal realm, they now stood humbled before the wild unpredictability of Quartus. They realized that they could no longer directly control the mortal realm and had to seek a different approach.

They convened in the heart of the Fabric of Possibilities, where the interplay of Primus, Secunda, Tertia, and Quartus was most palpable. There, they devised a plan to channel their powers through mortal conduits - chosen individuals who would act as their agents in the mortal realm. These mortals, known as the Champions, would be bestowed with fragments of the deities' essence, granting them extraordinary abilities and a connection to the divine. Through the Champions, the deities hoped to restore balance and order to the realm, to tame the chaos that Quartus had unleashed.

The deities carefully selected the Champions, seeking individuals who embodied the qualities and characteristics of their respective domains. Each Champion was tasked with a specific mission, a quest that would test their resolve, challenge their abilities, and ultimately shape the destiny of the mortal realm. As the deities infused the Champions with their essence, the mortal realm brimmed with new possibilities, with the hope that these chosen few could restore harmony and order to a world teetering on the edge of chaos.
