Merchants always use words to earn lots of money.
“Hello, traveller, would you like to purchase this ancient gem?”
“Ah, what about this?”
“Excellent, this sword was used by the hero Eugene Gustus.”
“How much is it?”
“Three platinums.”
“Haha, you wish, this sword would only cost 10 golds.”
But when it doesn’t go their way…
-Fling!
Money is their power.
“Ugh!”
Merchants are known to be people who are protected.
But what happens when the merchant himself has the power to beat the guards themselves?
-Fling!
“Ow ow, alright, I’ll leave..”
With the frequent harassments of the coin-flinging merchant, the man had no choice but to leave disappointed.
A sigh came out of the old man’s mouth, as he stared into the sword of the old hero. A sword made of Corromium, a metal only those with great power and skill could handle, alas, those people are incredibly rare.
Normally, merchants are unable to fight, let alone carry a sword due to their class, yet, the old man carried it with ease, as if it weighed nothing.
Corromium is a paste-blue metal, its origins are unknown, but there is no doubt that it is the strongest metal there is. Having the aptitude for magic, it is even better than mythril in both strength and magic channeling.
Many spend their lives scavenging for the rare metal, yet with no avail. However, in front of the customer’s ignorant eyes, this sword is just a fake, or at best, made of mythril.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
With a dejected face, he took out the sword from the scabbard, and started swinging it around.
Around town, the old man’s store is full of ‘scams’, or so the people think, although all of his merch are the real deal. The biggest problem was the fact that his items are sold for incredibly high prices, not giving them a chance to vouch for him.
Until one day, he got fed up. With knowledge exceeding that of many mages, and power rivaling an army of heroes and demon lords combined, he had no urges except to sell his merch.
Unfortunately, his ‘merch’ was too good for the people, thus labeling it as fakes or scams, but he never wavered. Instead, he got dejected, disappointed at how life treated him after all the hard work he had done.
He walked to the door, flipped the sign so that it shows ‘Closed’ to the people outside, then started packing up. With dexterous movements, he gathered everything inside the shop into his ‘Pocket Pouch’, enough to store a whole planet inside of it.
Normally, pouches like these never exist, but as a man of unfathomable knowledge, he created his own, crudely made pouch that surpasses even a legendary magician’s enchanting.
“Maybe I should have sold Legendary Beast’s meat.. No.. too late for that now..” The man said to himself, as he continued to put everything inside.
With a sullen face, he entered the basement, where he had stored many valuable treasures, and personal treasures as well. He stared into a frame, which showed a picture inside. A picture of a man, a woman, and a daughter drawn by a talented artist.
“I’m sorry…” He said, as he put away the picture inside of his pouch.
Taking a glance at the remaining items, he started stashing them at a quicker pace, holding back the tears forming in the corners of his eyes, as he finally reached the last item.
The World Seed.
The World Seed is a seed that came from outer space, only rarely did a person find it before it was eaten. Although it is called a ‘Seed’, it is in the shape of an apple, but that whole ‘Apple’ is the seed itself.
When it is eaten, it is as if it were normal ‘Apple’, however, if the person plants it, they are to gain one wish, or so the legends say. The old man didn’t doubt the legends one bit, as he met nearly all of them, be it mythical heroes, mythical monsters, etc.
He held the precious Seed in his wrinkled hands, and went outside, then turned the whole shop into an amulet. Sadly, it doesn’t include the basement, and it doesn’t store anything except the building itself, so he had to take every item on its own.
Stopping a carriage, he told the driver to go outside of the town, which the driver didn’t mind. The driver was an old man, a bit younger than the merchant, so they had known each other for years, allowing him to know what happened to the merchant.
In an hour, they had reached an undeveloped part, where the forest took over, but they paid no heed. The carriage went towards the trees, and then inside of it, while making wobbly sounds.
No man could normally enter by this method, however, due to his affinity to Fairies, he entered with no problems, and proceeded to go further, until they reached a waterfall. The merchant stepped off, paying the driver 10 gold coins, then went towards the waterfall. The carriage had already turned away, and left through the same way, while the old merchant stared into the waterfall as if it were an abyss.
After a while, he took out the Seed, and planted it next to the waterfall after pouring magic into it. He sat on a nearby rock and waited for a couple of minutes, until the earth started shaking, and a large tree sprouted from the apple-like seed.
With a soothing voice, the tree asked “Are you the one who planted me?”
Staring at the tree, he nodded, then stood up from the stone.
“I’d like to make three wishes.” Said the man, with a natural, wise voice.
“Go ahead, my dear human.” With the same soothing voice, the tree replied.
Mustering up his courage, as what he is about to say cannot be undone, he took as much air as possible in his lungs, then said with a firm voice.
“I wish to be reborn in another world, while keeping my powers and knowledge in place, and lastly, I’d like all of what I’m wearing to come with me.”
He said, with eyes burning with passion fixated onto the tree.
“Very well, let thy wish become true!”
With the tree’s voice entering his ear, it was the determined that it is the last sound he will hear before falling unconscious…..
