"Coffee, eggs, and bacon, the essential start to any day" I say with more energy than any normal person should have at this hour. Waiting for the coffee to finish, I do a quick check on my stats to see if I have made any improvements over the last few days.

Green Thumb (Tier 2) Lay of the Land (Tier 2) World Shaper (Tier 3) Construction (Tier 2) Worlds Bounty (Tier 1) Tinkering (Tier 3) Climate Control (Tier 2)
Huh, tier up for World Shaper?
World Shaper Tier 1: You have a basic understanding of how to shape and use earth aspected mana, small decrease in mana use for earth elemental skills and spells.
Tier 2: You have gained a deeper understanding of the earth aspect, increased mana efficiency with earth elemental skills and spells
Tier 3: You have cultivated deeper ties between yourself and the land, reduced mana cost for moving existing dirt, gravel, and stones weighing up to 30 lbs.
"Huh, well that's nifty" I mused, "should be able to increase my field sizes by a substantial amount with this, maybe even start really making some money!" That said, maybe not by that much, was really hoping for a boost to my Mana, but that will come with time I suppose.
After scarfing down my modest breakfast, I head out to get to work but as soon as I step out to go to the fields, that familiar bright pillar of light that I have seen a few times before shoots into the sky with a blinding flash that makes the predawn light look like the middle of the day. As the light starts to fade I can see a few people who were woken by the light start to make their way toward the castle town to see who the new Hero that was summoned is. Apparently there has been a Goblin King causing problems far to the south and they are finally doing something about it.

"Wait. No...no no nO NO NO!" I yell out in a mix of frustration and panic. You see for some reason when these heroes get summoned, as they head out for their 'adventure', they seem to feel entitled to any and all things that they can get their grubby hands on for free be it weapons, armors, food, money, random loose items if they think it could be useful, sometimes just for the hell of it really it seems. Most everyone in the town is used to it as they never steal from the shops proper and see it as part of the deal, but if they see any pots, chests, or anything that doesn't have a lock on it really, it's going to get either broken or stolen or both.
"Not this time!" I tell myself "I work too goddamn hard for what I have to put up with this anymore. Hero or not, my things, my fields, are MINE, they can earn their keep just like the rest of us!"
I immediately get to work on a little plan I have had brewing in the back of my mind for the past few weeks since the last summoning. I have already placed locks on everything I could in the house, the hard part was securing to keep them out. To do this, I have surrounded the entirety of the fields perimiter with a trench about 6 meters deep and covered said trench with a thin layer of hardened dirt. Helps keep the grazers out as well which is a nice benefit. All that was left to do is finish creating the pitfall maze to my storage shed, which, with my last skill increase, was laughably easy as I scooped out
loads of dirt in large clumps at a time with my magic.
Just as I finish checking the trench line and the maze, I finish up a basic rock trap on my front door and double lock it. I notice that there is a notice that I gained something in the system, but now is not the time to check it. Now, I wait for the Hero to show up and try to break in.
As I notice a few of my neighbors coming back home from checking out the latest summoning, I hear a faint repeating sound of "Huh!" growing louder from down the road. "The hell is that?" I wondered aloud, though the question was soon answered when I see a man rapidly jumping backwards with each noise and moving far faster than anyone has any right to while doing that. "Well he got here faster than expected, lets see how this plays out" I mumble to myself as I grab the shovel that I had leaning against the wall in the back of the house. Shortly after I hear the door jumble like someone is trying to open it.
"Not this time! Go earn your keep instead of taking my shit!" I scream at the jumbling door. After that, I hear a loud "HEEYEEAAAAAH" as I see my door start to splinter after being violently hit, but the locks hold. "That's not gonna get you in here! Go buy what you need instead, just leave me alone!". I start hearing the "Huh!" noises again as I see a man clad in green start hopping around the outside of my house through the windows. I quickly run to a window to open it and yell at the man "I wouldn't do that if I were you, it's dangerous!" but whether or not he heard me, I am not sure, as shortly after I hear "HuheeEEEYAAAAAAA......" and then silence.
"This is fine. I am sure he is fine. He is fine right?" I worriedly ask myself. "He is a Hero, no way a measly fall could hurt them that much...right?". As if to answer my question, I see a new alert pop up in the system. Scared, I run out my back door to check on where I think he fell. It takes a few minutes to find exactly where it was, but once I see the gap in the earth I know I was at the right spot. Looking into the pit I see the man clad in green at the bottom, but his legs were bent in directions and places they weren't meant to bend and a pool of blood is forming under him.
"Hey!" I shouted down at him "You...You're alive right? Say something or move something if you are still alive!", and I wait, and keep waiting, and start sweating profusely. "Oh no, this wasn't how this was supposed to happen. He has to be alive. I am sure he is alive." and then I check the first notification I got earlier in hopes of it being good news and to get confirmation that I totally didn't just kill a Hero shortly after a summoning.
Congratulations, you have earned the Dungeon Master class!
Um...what? Dungeon Master? But I don't have a dungeon. Those are supposd to be underground and full of...traps. No. It couln't be that simple to get this new class...could it? Now with a bit of curiosity, I check what the second notification is in hopes that maybe the hero will just be sent back to the castle or something instead of actually being dead in my trench.
Congratulations, for defeating your first Hero you have gained the title "Dungeon Master : Vanquisher"
Dungeon Master : Vanquisher Allows the Dungeon Master to control up to 5 minions in their dungeon
"Ah...well fuck"
