Chapter 26: A Strange Girl
The blonde girl was visited by several men, one of which was someone who looked similar to the girl. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and there was a different air about him. All of them had solemn expressions on their faces and they spoke in a quiet voice.
These men were clearly too old to be students of the academy, but from how fast they got here, they must be staying either within the academy or within Mirth city.
The several men attracted everyone's attention. The blonde girl on the bed got up and the men escorted her out. It was a strange sight because the patients were ordered to stay in bed until the scent on them wore off.
'Could it be we can leave as well?' Teo thought. He did not want to stay in the same room as his targets, it would've been too awkward.
The other 3 also thought the same, but when they tried to get up, they were told again to stay in bed.
It was very strange, why could the girl leave while they couldn't?
"Little Teo you should stay here and rest" Rowen said
She pulled out some fruits from her bag, but realized that Teo couldn't eat with the mask on.
"How are you suppose to eat with that thing on?" Rowen asked
Teo lifted up his mask while keeping his nose covered by it and took one of the fruit and ate it.
Seeing Teo eating happily, Rowen was now fully relieved.
She smiled and asked "So Teo, who was that girl?" as if she was hinting something to Teo
"Just a girl in the same class" Teo responded
He did not understand what his sister was hinting
"A girl in class huh?" she said as she grinned
...
After staying for quite some time, Rowen left first.
Windle stayed behind to talk to Teo in private.
Windle and Teo talked in a very quiet voice.
"Teo, these investigators are looking for the people responsible for this incident. If they find them, they will be heavily punished" said Windle
He spoke in a cryptic message so that even if for some chance someone could hear them, it would be considered as nothing more than small talk within two students
Teo understood Windle immediately. Windle was very worried because he could be considered as an accomplice to this incident.
"If only I knew who was responsible, but I don't know anything" Teo replied
Windle nodded and also understood. They both had to pretend not to know. The only way they would be exposed if either one of them talked. As for Lia, Windle already told her not to speak about the things she knew.
As for Lia, she had already connected the dots and knew that Windle and Teo was involved in this incident, but since she was their friend, she decided to follow Windle's instructions and acted as if she did not know anything about it.
....
After all the visitors left, Teo was stuck in the room with the 3 other members of the Silver Sword Association. The atmosphere was quiet and awkward, the 3 members quietly talked among themselves.
"Hey, what should we do?" the thin member said
-Sniff- -Sniff- "We should apologize to him" the largest one of them said
"Idiot! why should we apologize?" the shortest member said
"Thats right! its not our fault that he pissed of Senior. Besides its not our fault, Senior made us do it"
"But.. but he tried to help us, even after everything we did to him" the largest one said. Although he looked the scariest, he was the most emotional within the 3
"...." the other two became silent. From their perspective, Teo did try to help them. There was a sense of guilt but they didn't want to admit their faults
While the 3 were discussing among themselves
Teo who couldn't stand the awkward atmosphere just went to "sleep"
...
Within the inner world
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
Old man Cien who saw everything acted as if nothing happened
When he saw Teo completed his basic array, he was slightly pleased, but he didn't give out a single word of praise
Teo was there sitting on the bench, reflecting on his actions.
'What can I do to make this feeling go away?' He thought
He wanted to confess, but he didn't want to get punished.
He sat there for almost 2 hours just sighing as he stared off the distance, sometimes staring at the pond.
-Sigh-
-Sigh-
Old man Cein finally couldn't take it anymore. With such a depressed person around him, old man Cien's mood was also affected
"Why are you there sighing for so long?! You should be celebrating that your revenge succeeded. It's okay, even though the array was only a basic trigger array, you shouldn't be so depressed"
Old man Cien thought that Teo was depressed because his array was not that great.
"Also, if you weren't an idiot, you wouldn't have fallen for your own trap. Take this as a lesson in the future" Cien lectured.
Although Teo's revenge was immature, it was well planned out, which was praise worthy enough for Cien to try to cheer him up.
When Teo heard this, he shook his head and said "I'm not depressed about that.. I... I.. shouldn't have taken revenge" -sigh-
"Hm? 'shouldn't have taken revenge'?" Cien quickly understood
"Boy, I didn't think you would be this soft"
"You shouldn't worry about unrelated people getting hurt"
Teo looked confused. Since he was little, his parents and uncle taught him his basic moral values. He also learned from reading books that the heroes always protected the weak and innocent. Old man Cien's words were contradicting to his values.
Seeing Teo's confused face, old man Cien continued
"Listen kid, the weak can only blame themselves for being weak; the unlucky can only blame fate for being unlucky. This is why, you should not let those kinds of things affect you"
Teo could not accept the concept and it showed on his face. He truly believed that the righteous would always prevail, like the legendary heroes that he read about from many different stories.
When old man Cien saw Teo not completely accepting what he said he could only sigh himself
'Truly, what an idiot' he thought to himself
....
Within a room 3 students were staring intently at a sleeping student.
These 3 students were the 3 who were the targets of Teo's revenge
After much discussion, all 3 of them decided to apologize to Teo, but after deciding it, they noticed that Teo had been sleeping for almost the whole day now.
The 3 waited patiently for Teo to wake up, but there was no sign of him waking up.
"Is he still breathing?" one of them asked
"Could it be that he is dead?" the largest student went near closer and saw that Teo's chest was still moving up and down
"He is still alive, but how can he sleep so much? He even skipped lunch and dinner"
"Maybe he is just pretending to be sleeping"
"Hey! Hey turtle!"
"It's no good, he isn't waking up"
They tried poking him but did not woke up
"Maybe he is in a coma, we should call the doctor"
"If he is in a coma, they might blame it on us"
They were afraid to get the blame. Teo who was awake earlier suddenly fell asleep and now won't wake up after everyone left? Who else would be blamed?
They have heard that their Senior from the Silver Sword Association, Nathan, was brutally beaten by Teo's sister. If they were blamed for Teo's coma, then even if it was against the rules, Teo's sister might become merciless to them as well.
"Lets pretend we didn't notice.."
The other 2 quickly nodded in agreement
