Robert swept his sweat covered bald scalp on the left hand while carrying a mid sized box on the other. His instincts were warning him about an unseen threat to his life, but so far everything besides his meeting with Isaac has been normal.
Why am I feeling so…Jittery? I mean I have got some leads to complete the boss’s mission, but for fucks sake the stress is killing me.
Robert’s informant had provided him with reliable intel that some of the cultists associated with the Spider were lurking around the downtown, so he raced there by foot.
Obviously his combat suit and his large frame would gather too much attention, so his go to answer for these situations was a black trench coat.
Whatever the premonitions are, I just need to deliver this mystery box and be done with it.
Putting his foot ahead of another, Robert tried to be as inconspicuous as possible, but still attracted some curious looks from the public eye.
I know, I know… Sigh. It is so hard to be too handsome and buff these days especially when I can’t enjoy the admiration… Maybe I can cheer up after the job by going to a normal gym and flex some biceps in front of the noobs.
By nature of his job and strength Robert enjoyed his own share of ‘’Relative fame’’ and admiration from his peers, which made him prone to narcissism.
His thought process always reminded himself to not get too cocky, but sometimes he would grow complacent in his own tasks.
While the task Isaac issued to him seemed simple on the surface, Robert knew in his heart that his boss would not be giving easy tasks himself.
Pulling out a phone from his trench coat, Robert called his informant and remained oblivious to the shadow of a strange being following him closely from the distance.
After the call ended and having confirmed the suspected location, he soon arrived at his destination.
Looking at the dilapidated wooden door and the shabby looking building, Robert took deep breaths and patted the mystery box. Maybe his lead would hit the mark on the first try?

Karl was discussing the involvement of the church in the atrocities committed in the slums with Rob. With a heavy atmosphere lingering around the topics of discussion, Rob rubbed his temples in frustration.
‘’So what we can conclude after all this is…Church is doing some fucked up shit and we have pissed them off?’’ Karl clenched his teeth and grasped a stack of reports his informants had sent him.
‘’Yeah…Even with the instruments of power and His assistance, the waters of the Church are bit too deep.’’ Rob remarked and looked out of the window with blank eyes.
With a brief silence reigning in the disorganized room, Karl pulled out a mask to hide his disfigured face and sighed.
‘’Well there is already no going back so we might as well pull down their pants as we can. I heard from one of the members that the high echelon of the Church has shown little to no interest in the incident, so hopefully we don’t have to go balls deep after them.’’
Rob broke out of his reverie after hearing this, gave a meaningful look to Karl and opened his mouth slightly, but said nothing. Rob shook his head and turned his gaze back outside of the window.
What is this? Someone is approaching very fast. Enemy or friend? Thinking up to this point, Rob alerted Karl and told him to cautiously alert the other members of their little club just in case.
Making his way behind the entrance, he cautiously felt the changes outside.
Footsteps are closing in. 50 meters…20…And he is in front of the door. Who is it and what's his purpose?
Rob chanted a small spell in inaudible voice, and green mist first appeared to assimilate in the surroundings before vanishing entirely. Having learned new knowledge about poisons from the mysterious shop, it was now easy for him to do simple reconnaissance using his mana as a medium.

And if he is the enemy, it is game over for him if I want to turn my probe into deadly venom…
Ascertained that the man outside was strong, but did not seem to hold too much ill intent he refrained from just poisoning him. After a few tens of seconds the door was finally knocked.
’Who is it and why are you here?’’ Rob answered the knocking from some distance.
‘’Lookin for the Spider or his buddies. If I have the right place I have a package for the Spider from my boss.’’ A gruff voice resounded clearly from behind the door.
Rob frowned for a second and noticed that his mana did not pick up a package at first, but then soon found out that there was indeed a box that rejected his mana sensing. Rob had no idea how they had been found out, but first and foremost he had to decide what to do with the ‘’Delivery man’’.
‘’Wrong place buddy, leave the package and get lost or you might get hurt.’’ Rob finally answered after a minute of silence and prepared to combat just in case the man turns hostile.
Hearing Rob’s answer, the man stayed quiet and an intense fluctuation of mana started to roll in behind the door. Knowing that the situation started to deteriorate, Rob started to manifest his mana into poisonous fog.
The unknown man behind the door was startled by the green mist surrounding him, but soon after its emergence he let out a light laugh.
‘’So it seems I have come to the right place afterall. Boss sent you a package, my job here is done.’’
After the man's monologue a shockwave shook the ground and the ‘delivery man’ sprinted off the scene in haste, leaving behind dumbfounded Rob and the people alerted.

After making his escape from the delivery, Robert stopped in a dark alleyway to catch his breath.
Clenching his trembling fist with serious eyes, he could not help but let out a few curses.
‘’Got fucking damnit, those poisonous cunts are never easy to deal with… I am just performing a delivery so why be so heavy handed.’’
Pulling out an ampoule from his combat suit, he tried to remove the needle cover carefully with some difficulty. Just as he was ready to inject the general antidote into his bloodstream, a dark figure stepped in his line of sight.
Huge, dark figure of at least two meters, covered with dark purple tattoos with magical complexity that seemed to dim the light around them.
Robert stopped his hand from injecting himself with the antidote as he gazed into the eyes of that being.
What the fuck is that? It’s even more buff than I am and those eyes… They are just filled with coldness and unreasonable madness. Dear Lord, what kind of bigshot have I offended? I can’t think of any?
Robert could not muster the courage to oppose this thing, so his survival instincts were screaming to think of a solution. Why was that here? What does it want? Why me? Thinking to this point, he had an inkling of an idea and went with it.
‘’Khmm. Good day fine Sir. I have already delivered the package to the right address. The wanted person received it, so I was just about to report back. I was poisoned so I should not delay with the antidote, I hope you do not mind.’’
Robert felt pressure even greater from That than from his own boss, the pressure of the strong.
Cold sweat poured from him like a waterfall and he nervously hoped that his assumption was right. Seeing It closing with slow steps toward himself, his heart jumped every time a footstep closed in.
Shutting his eyes and nervously waiting this to be all over, Robert tried to make himself look as harmless as possible until he felt a disgusting breath brushing up to his face.
‘’Where..’’
Hearing the voice similar to a cold sore patient coming from the tattooed man Robert instantly knew that it was sent to deal with the Spider. Turning his head he quickly pointed to the direction he left the package and told it was 2 kilometers in that direction and he sensed at least 6 people inside.
Slowly Robert opened his eyes and saw that the man was looking toward the direction he pointed, and sighed a small breath of relief.
If you have such strong allies Boss, why must I work so hard? I gots to get outta here before my little life is lost without achieving anything. Just as he thought of fleeing, the man turned his brutal gaze on Robert and tapped his shoulder with gentleness.
‘’Good. You…Done.’’
Rejoicing of the sudden praise from the man, Robert felt excruciating pain. With widened eyes, he looked down and saw the man’s hand piercing his chest from the left side.
‘’Why?’’ Robert muttered with disbelief and horror.
‘’Liability. Not needed.’’
The man slowly retrieved his dark hand covered in tattoos and shook the teared flesh and blood off it and seemingly blended with the shadows and left towards the Spider’s location.
