Greetings TAOS readers,
Wow, I can't believe we finally published The Amulet of Storms as a real book. We have edited the story so many times over the years, that at times I wasn't sure if we were ever going to finish it. I almost gave up on it when we decided to rewrite the POV from omniscient to multiple third-person. This has been a great learning experience, but so much work!
Speaking of editing, we made some major improvements within the last 6 months. Here are some of those changes:
> - Complete line-edit of the entire story. That took into account a lot of your feedback.
>
> - Improved William as a character. In Volume 1 there were a number of places where he came across as impatient, whiney, and negative. That deviated from the core of his character (goofy, impulsive, prone to accidents, nosy kid with a big heart). Various corrections were implemented to address that.

>
> - Some of you had raised some concerns about info dumping. We have fixed a number of those issues and the story has decreased from 613 to 602 pages.
>
> - Major dialogue improvements. That includes more natural interactions between the characters, less dialogue tags, more action beats.
>
> - A couple of you had mentioned that we were overusing exclamation points! That has been addressed.
>
> - Various transitional improvements, more jokes, and less easter eggs to improve the flow of the story.
On that note, the updated story is still free on Royal Road. If you'd like to read it in a different format, you can purchase it from Amazon. A rating of the story on Amazon would be greatly appreciated. Like any creator, sharing your work with others that enjoy it is quite fulfilling.
Best wishes!
