Chapter 0275

Chapter 0275

Jasmine held out her hand to Nicholas, blushing as she waited for him to slide the ring onto her finger. However, that ring... sure had been chosen with such care. It was the one I had left at Coral Villa.

I couldn't believe that he was going to propose to Jasmine with our wedding ring. I wasn't sure if she knew it was my ring or if she even cared.

I stood rooted to the spot as I watched Nicholas get down on one knee. My heart hammered against my chest, and my fingers went numb.

Even on one knee, he looked so graceful and elegant. Jasmine covered her mouth, barely containing her excitement, her eyes welling up with tears. "Yes! Yes a thousand times!" she said eagerly.

Instead of sliding the ring onto Jasmine's finger right away, Nicholas methodically took out the men's ring from the box and slipped it onto his own finger.

He then stared intently at his finger with dark, brooding eyes. I had no idea what was going through his mind, but I knew someone was waiting for him with bated breath.

Claudia was the first to come to her senses. She rushed over to Nicholas, intending to pull him away from Jasmine.

However, there was no way someone as small as her could drag Nicholas, who was so intent on going through with this, away.

When she realized she couldn't drag him away, she gave up, pressing her thin lips together into a dangerous smile.

"You can't joke about something like this, Nick. Have you really thought this through?"

Nicholas nodded, his voice thick with emotion. "The woman who wears this ring will be my wife and the future mistress of the Hawk family."

"Nick, I never imagined you would actually propose to me! I've always wondered how I was fortunate enough to be with someone like you.

"You've given me a sense of security that I've never known before, as well as the chance to have a home. You promised me that you'd make me the happiest woman in the world, and you've really done it!"

Jasmine held out her hand to Nicholas and said affectionately, "I love you, Nick."

As soon as her words fell, a wine glass was hurled at her feet, shattering into a million pieces and even cutting Nicholas' hand as he held up the ring box.

"You fool!" Daniel cursed, grabbing the wine glass in front of Frances and hurling it at Nicholas' head.

Jasmine hurriedly shielded Nicholas, taking the blow on her back. The ballroom descended into a frenzy.

Jasmine, with her back aching from the injury, sank to her knees in front of Daniel, tears streaming down her face as she insisted that she and Nicholas were truly in love.

Love. It was something I had yet to truly experience in my life.

I wondered if it was because I was there that Daniel, despite his illness, had tried so hard to break them up. Maybe they could be together if I left. All rights © .

I said goodbye to Daniel and decided not to look at that ill-fated couple. All I learned after that was Jasmine had been injured and Daniel had been sent back to the hospital.

I couldn't even remember how I made my way out of that chaotic ballroom. All I could think about was Nicholas holding the ring, looking at Jasmine devoutly, and saying, "This ring has only one rightful owner.

I bought a plane ticket and called Pete as soon as I got off the plane.

"Ari!" His voice cut through the cold wind but still sounded warm.

I chuckled. "It's freezing here, Pete!"
