As I near the end of my days, I endeavor to lay down my life in written form, so that other rats may know they can be more, more than just another short-lived cog in the machine. They can have heroic adventures, make friends with panthers, travel to the tallest mountain and the lowest cave, and fight ancient enemies. And, if they’re lucky, their life can have more meaning than the sum of its parts.
I’ve been known by many names, some given by my masters, some by my actions. Throughout my years I’ve been known as Runt, Maze-runner, Ringer of Bells, Tempter of Lizards, Mr. Plaguey, Barrel-raider, Zombie-Bane and more. I am Pantherider and Welldiver. I am Fat Rat and Sir Scrawnington, Defouler of Carafes and Cleanser of Angels. But greatest among these is what I am the most – Rat Damon.

I will leave you with a last piece of advice that comes via my friend Jack. “Carpe Diem – Seize the day! Life is short; if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I think that’s how it went; honestly, I didn’t understand much of what he said, the poor simple man.
This is my story.
