After a fun and not too long car ride in a big huge metal traveling thing of theirs, running back and forth along the back seat seeing a bunch of new things, we stop at a big building. It is huge, much bigger than home. I hope I get to live there with the humans. The metal thing stops in front of it, and my first thought is, there must be so many hiding places in there. Assuming it is the human’s home, I wait in the car until they tell me I can get out with them. The little human opens the door and waves me outside of the car to get out, so I do.
The little human walks me around outside for a very long time, I keep trying to pull towards the door, but I don’t know why they won’t let me see inside. I see the new yard, it is so big. The grass there feels different on my feet, not sure how, but it smells good, sort of like small trees. The tall alpha human walks inside, but the smaller one walks me all over to see things. We go into the back part of their house, and there are many play things. It was like they had it all made just for me. A small caged-in area has lots of things to play on, and some strange roof thing that is not easy to see through it. There are things to bounce on, jump through, run around, and even a ball attached to a rope and pole. I don’t know what it is all for, but can’t wait to play in the little area.
The little human doesn’t take me in there right away though. We just walk all over and see lots of things outside. Not only that, we see the most dangerous, devious, destructive, cowardly creatures in nature, squirrels. There are many trees around the yard, and they are everywhere. They look over at me as I try to get loose and chase after them, but the human keeps me back. Their days are numbered.
After what seems like forever, he takes me inside, and it smells very strange, but not strong like it sometimes is back home. It smells like chemicals, a very clean place, shiny places and comfy furniture. It all looks very fancy.
Sniffing all over to get the idea of what is all around the big house, a new human walks over to me and the little human, a female, but as tall as the alpha. Wanting to go say hi to the tall human I haven’t seen before, I get her scent and sniff a bit more to find out if she wants to either pet or play with me. She jumps back and screeches a little, but I am not deterred,wondering if she was playing tag. She pushes my head to the side when I go closer, so I back off, getting the idea from her, she doesn’t seem interested, almost like the alpha, but she makes funny screeching noises when I’m close. He doesn’t do much more.
The little human walks me around inside still on a leash, the new smells in his house are so interesting, but one of the really fun smelling rooms is a really big one with all sorts of food smells coming from it, but not like a lot of the food I had at home. I don’t know what all of the smells are, but I want to taste everything.
Another human was in this room making noises, but the smell of food was all over. The small human tries to pull me away, but I sit down and make a few noises trying to get the human close to food to give me some. Not sure if it works that way, but for the few seconds of sitting there doesn’t have the human drop food, and the little human strongly pulls me away.

Many more rooms are fun to walk around in, there are a bunch of big windows to see outside, and the little human’s room (which I can tell because everything is smaller, and the little one sits on one of the little chairs, and sits on the bed) has a lot of fun toys ready for me, which is surprising. Hesitating at first, I can’t help smelling many of them, searching for the best one. The toys aren’t new, but they smell clean, which is ok with me, and I find the best one. It is a bird with a rope neck and a squeaking body. Biting it really good in the right place causes it to screech out… ha ha… I like that sound.
Seeing all of the interesting things in the house and finding the best toy makes me feel tired after a good long time. I lie down in different places and the little human seems to realize it is time for a nap, so the little human walks me to another big room with a little wire cage and a bed inside of it. Lying down, it doesn’t take long for me to get used to the comfortable bed. I think I’m going to like this new place. It isn’t exactly home yet, but maybe the little human can help it get there.
I don’t remember much about the dream for this time that I sleep. I worry about waking up back at home, hoping against hope that the new little human didn’t either bring me back, or that I didn’t dream of it all going away from home in general. With my eyes still closed, I smell the strange air. It isn’t like home, but a not strong smell of chemicals that is in the air, and the air is much more cool against my fur than at home.
In the comfortable bed, I fully wake up feeling like I haven’t been able to sleep that much in a very long time. After food, which is dry and is a lot like the food back home, the little human walks me around outside. After a little while, the alpha puts me in a smaller box, and picks me up and puts me in his metal thing, taking me for a ride. I’m not sure where, but there are so many new things anyway, I just go with the flow.
The metal thing stops and I shake around again, being carried around where I can’t see. The places we go are big, the light is strange and hurts my eyes, but laying down in this thing and being walked backwards is churning my stomach. I hear some beeping and clicking from places around me, but I still don’t know where I’m going, but it feels creepy. I feel something sting me still laying on my belly, and start to get really sleepy.
My eyes are still watering from the strange light, but I am able to see a couple of humans, and the light hurts. I focus more on the different humans, and see something terrible, a white long coat. I can’t help but let a whimper escape my lips, as the little box I’m in stops moving after being put on some table. My legs feel very strange and hard to move, and the little door to my box opens. The alpha pulls me up into the air. Even though I tell my legs to move, they can’t.
A tear slips from one of my eyes as I am put in this weird, very small case, about as big as the little sleeping room back at the alpha’s place. I’m put on my back, and with my nose sticking up in the air, my head is put where it can’t move. A little cap is put over my head too, a very strange cover for me. The place gets dark, almost like I close my eyes, but I can’t see anything, and after a little noise, I can’t hear anything either, but I can feel the small place enclosed around me.
After a few seconds, I feel water flow all around me. The cold temp of the water makes my fur shiver. Trying to move and get out, I still can’t move. It raises over my ears and surrounds me. My eyes are forced to close as the water covers my face. It is a scary little room, and I hear, see, and feel nothing as my mind wanders away into the dark.
