Chapter 2: The Ruzzell Adventurer's Guild

Chapter 2: The Ruzzell Adventurer's Guild

As Wynn jumped over the tree line, having strengthened himself with Mana, he and Juno saw something in the distance. A massive city, with a very oddly shaped lake and river that seemed to head out, probably in the direction of the ocean. It was weird because it definitely had the smell of the sea to it, despite being right in the middle of the continent basically. And the shape almost looked like a wound or a battle scar, rather then a natural formation. It was as if someone unleashed a massive sword attack that tore the land in two, or perhaps ripped into it with a giant claw.

Not only that, but the city was massive, and possibly old. Not only that, but there was what appeared to be a train station right in the center that led over some ruins in the south, and seemed to head towards another nearby city in the distance, past a few forests. Wynn was enhancing both their bodies with mana, so they could see this much easily.

"Woah...is that another city so close?"

"No. Those ruins actually used to be part of the city decades ago, but it was damaged and destroyed by the Demon King. That part in the distance is actually still considered to be part of the city, even if its only connected by ruins and an elevated railway".

"Amazing...this is the first time I have seen a railway".

"Yeah, its a technology that was first heard of in talks said by the Hero. About the main part of the city we are heading to, it has roughly three layers. The old areas were a ruin before the Demon King, it got ruined, and then people rebuilt it and began to live in it. The second layer was mainly added after it was rebuilt, but before the Demon King attacked. it got a bit wrecked again. Then when they rebuilt it, they added the third layer. Its a nicer area for sure, other then the Noble District in the second area of course, although the Noble District ended up extending into the third area as well".

"So its a city that has fallen and been rebuilt many times?"

"Yes. And due to its location on the continent, we get tons of traffic, even more then the Royal Capital".

"I see...so will we be landing in front of the gate?"

"Nope. Special Guildmaster Perks. I just skip all that".

Wynn used magic, and they entered a full blown flight mode. He just went right over the walls, and looked around.

"Ah, there it is. That is a good clothing store. Now, lets get you some new threads".

----------------------------------------

"So, how are the new clothes? Fit well?"

"Yeah, thanks!"

Naturally, Wynn was playing, but the shopkeeper just seemed amused.

"I must say Wynn, what issue did you save him from this time?"

"Eh?"

"This is not the first time he has brought in a naked child, or even sometimes some adults. Though, you look better then some of them".

Juno looked at Wynn confused, but Wynn's response was simple.

"Bandits, Orcs, Succubus occasionally, things like that. And sometimes Goblins".

"Oh....oh. Ew".

"Yep".

"The shopkeeper...she seems to remember you by the way?"

"Because her son goes to my school that I teach sometimes. Well, I have a few teachers hired, but sometimes I give lessons about some fun things. Oh, and she is a B-Rank Adventurer".

"Now now Wynn, I am retired".

"Ha. You say that, but did you not deliver that murderous robber to our doors just last month?"

"Well, he threatened my son, so that was his own fault. I don't take requests that often anymore".

"...but you admit you do still take them".

She might be over 40, but she was still working as a B-Rank Adventurer. If anything, Wynn was pretty sure she was still just as capable as ever.

"By the way, where is she? Didn't that one girl leave with you?"

"Ahahahahahaha....I sort of forgot her birthday, so I ran away from her as fast as I could to get to the city. So long as I am in the city, at the very least, she wont use any magic that might make giant craters. Probably?"

"...probably?" Juno asked in a concerned manner. "Isn't she more the type to just embarrass you?"

"Yeah...she has a number of magic spells that can do that as well. Still, she should calm down eventually".

"Eventually?"

"It depends on if Owyl reaches her first. Her brother is incredibly good at calming her down after all".

"So you are depending on the Sub-Guildmaster then? The Vice-Guildmaster wont like this, especially since this means he is the only one doing any administrative work right now".

"Well, that's part of Owyl's job. And I am sure he is already on the case. In the meantime, I am going to get Juno's living area set".

"You have an inn lined up as well?"

"Ah, no. Although its limited, we have a few rooms in the adventurer's guild. This is for guild staff when they are overworked, but we also use it for newbie H, G, and F ranked adventurers who have just come to town or have special circumstances. A few guilds are using this system now...after I dragged them kicking and screaming to make them do so".

The last part sounded very dangerous. It appeared Wynn was properly working as a Guildmaster though, if he was even instituting reforms to other Guildmasters.

There were countless Guildmasters across the world, as there were countless branches. There were occasional meetings were as many of them tried to get together as they could, the Guildmaster's Conference, but as expected not everyone could attend every time it was held. It wasn't held every year either, but every few years. However, if there was some sort of large scale emergency, it was possible to call for an emergency meeting. The richer guilds would even dip into emergency funds to get high speed transports for the Guilds that were too poor and too far away to make it in time that absolutely needed to attend.

Most Conferences usually just invited those on the continent they were on, because obviously they couldn't expect foreign ones to be able to arrive or come so frequently. However, the exception was the Grand Guildmaster's Conference. That was where everyone always tried to come, doing whatever they could to attend if possible. It was held once every ten years, and it was considered a major meeting. After all, The Adventurer's Guild was an organization that transcended national borders. Most organizations could not do that, especially ones that utilized combat power. But they were an exception, because of the threat posed by monsters, and how greater threats like the Demon King, the Demon Generals, and S-Ranked threats needed to be dealt with in ways that superseded national borders and politics.

"Still, to think they would make an S-Ranker the Guildmaster..."

"Well, some things happened, and the role got forced upon me. It wasn't like it was normal circumstances, and normally I cant display that much power, but...well, things happened".

Once they left the shop, Wynn made sure to hold Juno's hand. Juno was a bit surprised, but Wynn just mentioned that it was so he didn't get lost or possibly lose sight of him. He was also worried that, while Juno seemed fine right now, if he let go Juno might start suffering from it as well and get confused as to who he was.

"Is it that powerful?"

"Not normally no. In fact, I have learned how to weaken it, strengthen it, and manipulate it to some degree. But, sometimes things happen..."

Juno decided to not press on the topic too much. After all, such a curse seemed like it could be quite harrowing and lonely.

As they walked through the city, it was quite bustling with life. There was an occasional guard that patrolled the area, but they didn't seem to notice the two boys...or rather, the boy and the extremely boy looking S-Rank Guildmaster. There were plenty of other children around that were also playing, and as they passed a small square with a fountain in the center, a few were even playing in the fountain, although they had not gotten completely undressed so they were not swimming in it.

There was also the smell of pastries. Wynn made sure to buy some, and the shopkeeper seemed to recognize Wynn.

"Ah, little boy! A pleasure to see you again! I see you brought a friend this time!"

"Mhm. Two Creamgels please".

"Ah, here you go. You paid double last time, so these are on the house!"

"Thanks!"

Wynn accepted the tasty treats, and proceeded to give one to Juno as they kept walking. Along the way, they passed by a few others, who saw them and thought it was adorable how they went through the city while holding hands.

"These people...they have difficulty recognizing you?"

"Yeah. Its easier for her since as a B-Rank adventurer, she has had a lot of contact with me. The more time I spend with someone, or the stronger the connection, the less the curse can effect them. Its still...a bit painful. That bakery back there, that chef? I played tag and hide and seek with him, and went skinny dipping with him, when he was your age. He grew up around me, and me and the city kids always play a lot together. I don't know why, but children are a weird exception. They can perceive my existence just a bit better, but if they try to tell people no one believes them either, and when they grow up they eventually forget. That said, you are a rarity. To recognize me and persist in that..."

Wynn turned around and looked Juno in the eyes. He put his free hand on his cheek.

"Its very rare to meet someone who can so clearly recognize me on a first meeting. I am curious, if this means you have the potential to be a great adventurer. If I recall correctly, you need to make money for your family right?"

"Yes. My family runs a farm in the Theospin Deepwoods, but its not doing well. At first they had many children, so they had plenty of labor, but now they cant afford to manage everyone. So we held a sort of tournament for those of us old enough to hold a sword, and the top three were sent out to become adventurers. I have four sisters and five brothers. The other two are an older brother and eldest sister".

"I see. Well, I think there is great potential in you. Also, thanks to our position, we always have plenty of requests. I mean, we have three Dungeons after all".

Juno nearly choked when he heard that, barely getting down the Creamgel. It was just like a bagel, only it was filled with cream.

"Three?!"

"Yes. There is one in the ruins, there is another in the nearby forests, and then the toughest one is also the farthest, in the mountains to the northwest. It takes about an hour or two for the average carriage to reach. The forest one is the weakest, and F and E rankers are even allowed in it. The ruins one is tougher. You need to be around C-Rank to enter, although if you have a decently sized party of D-Rankers, it should be possible to explore the upper layers at least. And then finally, the mountains one. If its just the surface levels, its B-Rank, but you get too deep and its A-Rank only".

"I see...that's kind of amazing".

"Yeah. In any case, there are always repeatable requests involving the ruins, the forests, the mountains, the lakes and pond areas, the swamps to the southwest, or any number of other areas nearby. There are also plenty of requests in the city. In fact, because of just how many adventurers come here to train or practice, sometimes we have requests for adventurers to fill in as receptionists. I myself sometimes work at a receptionist desk".

"Eh? Really?"

"Serafyna doesn't even mind it, since I often get some paperwork done inbetween adventurers or while waiting for someone to send one over to the Overflow counters. Which maybe should be renamed, since we have Overflow daily".

"Why not just hire more receptionists?"

"Because we have criteria, a receptionist needs to be able to fulfill certain duties. Temporary ones are fine and all, since if they don't work out we can just not give them the job as much, or ever again. But the full time staff needs to be capable. Furthermore, they need to have some level of ability to deal with adventurers who are too rowdy, maintaining the polite and professional demeanor needed of receptionists. This is a mentally taxing endeavor, so we have some people end up leaving because its too stressful".

"What about hiring male receptionists?"

Wynn looked a bit confused by that.

"We do. Lustful looks are not exclusive to male adventurers, nor are they bound to opposite sex relationships even, although admittedly we don't see as many of those. Actually, some of the worst I have seen came from female adventurers...especially from her".

Juno had an idea of who he meant, but once again, he seemed to know not to press the issue. Plus, both of them had apparently been secretly auctioned off to nobles technically during that incident, so Juno wasn't as surprised since he knew of that.

But as they were approaching the guild by cutting through a back alley, Wynn couldn't help but let out a sigh.

"Oh great, these kinds of people".

Juno looked at him confused, when suddenly a group of four tall, large, muscular adventurers surrounded them.

"Well look at this, a few young pups approaching the guild. Don't tell me you two brats think you can actually become adventurers!"

Uhg. Sometimes I hate this curse so much.

"Eh...I mean, we already are..."

"Hou..."

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

The person who was maybe the leader saw his Guild ID.

"Haha, two pathetic G-Rankers. What a farce. To think this guild really does let children run around it even. Nothing like Argylon's Guild. You brats look barely old enough to be out of diapers, and those weapons are clearly not befitting of you. Give em here".

"Hey, you cant extort us!"

Yeah, Juno is right. And you especially cant do that in the open where people can see you, morons. This might be an alley, but its still broad daylight. Argylon's Guild huh? That damned muscle freak's people.

That was when one of them slapped Juno across the face.

"Hmmf. Insolent brat. You should just obediently obey those older then you, and especially D-Rankers like us who out rank you. Perhaps you need a spanking instead".

He started talking like that. It wasn't like it was a rare thing to see such a punishment against a child acting out, but this guy was clearly in the wrong and abusing his authority that he didn't even really have in the first place.

"Especially you shrimp".

He directed his gaze towards Wynn.

"With your puny height, lanky arms, and cute appearance, you should just be some poster child for a cafe, not an adventurer with such a big sword. Give it to me. Its not like you will ever do anything memorable".

Juno paled now, but not because of the D-Rankers threatening them. Well, that was not entirely true. But what was really terrifying Juno is that, having talked to Wynn for a bit, he understood that given his curse, this guy had just stepped on all of his landmines. After all, he

-Made fun of Wynn's height, despite the fact he likely has a height complex.

-Made fun of Wynn's build, despite the fact he likely has a muscle complex.

-Made fun of Wynn's cuteness, despite the fact he likely has a cuteness complex.

-Made fun of Wynn's appearance in the sense he would never do anything memorable, despite the clear signs Juno saw about how that was a sensitive topic for him and possibly a complex as well.

-Was tall and muscular himself. Juno didn't think he was handsome though, and he was not sure if he was famous or not.

There was no way this would go well. Wynn already seemed to be irritated, he was making a face similar to Serafyna when she was annoyed at Wynn.

"Sorry, what did you say?"

Wynn asked that in a very playful voice.

"What, you got bad ears kid? Do I need to just rip it all off? Or will you just be obedient if I shout louder?"

"Well, its hard to hear you with that first in your face".

When Wynn said that, the man looked confused, until Wynn's small fist made contact with his face. Juno didn't even see him curl it up into a fist, it was just already like that suddenly. The man proceeded to make an arc, flying into the air before hitting the ground, laying on his back. Wynn then proceeded to stomp the foot of the one closest to him, using that force to jump up and kick a third man in the back of the head, sending him right into a wall. The fourth and final one seemed to realize he was in danger and started to pull out his sword, but Wynn suddenly jumped on him.

It looked for a moment like Wynn was riding him piggyback style, but his legs had crossed around the guy's neck and he went pale pretty quickly. As the other guy was just overcoming his foot pain by drinking a potion, which made Juno think Wynn probably broke the foot, Wynn finished choking the other guy out. He then walked over to guy who just drank the potion, and jumped up and kicked him in the stomach, sending him sprawling into an alley.

As that concluded, a voice spoke up behind Juno, startling him.

"I see you have returned, Master Wynn".

"Owyl? I thought you went to calm your sister?"

Juno turned around startled as Wynn walked up to them both. There was an Elven man who looked a lot like Serafyna, but had the overall presence and feeling of a gentleman, perhaps even a gentleman butler. His voice and movements were elegant, and held much grace and formality. it was the living embodiment of being a gentleman.

"Yes, well. It seems she took some new pictures of you, so it ended up being easier to placate her".

"New pictures...oh that little..."

"I ask that you leave her be. This will satiate her for her birthday after all".

"Considering the content, that's a hard ask".

"Perhaps, but you were the one who scheduled an operation during her birthday".

"Geh...can you at least try to make her a productive and reasonable member of society?"

"That is likely impossible but I am sure she will be fine. You cant blame her for having such feelings to you after what you did for us".

"...maybe you were the wrong person to ask. Anyways, Juno, this is the Sub-Guildmaster Owyl. He is a bit more put together then his sister and hides it a bit better, but unfortunately he is also sort of a broken person and not quite a fit member of society. He is still more reliable then Serafyna though".

"Is he also..."

"An S-Rank? More or less yeah. Well, their loyalty should be fine, although they don't always listen to me. And I am a bit concerned you may have been bribed with one of those photos, but whatever. id rather not taint Juno's image of my guild more then this...speaking of which, did Argylon send more people to harass me?"

"It seems that the Hero held a lecture detailing the importance of Dungeon Diving as a way he used to get stronger. He made sure to convey the dangers too, but it seems that the hotheaded muscleheads of Argylon are coming here to visit more as we have three dungeons while they pathetically have none, as their guildmaster cant ever be trusted like Master Wynn with such an important city with three dungeons".

Juno noticed Wynn have a more relaxed and pleased expression as Owyl spoke. But his irritation didn't fully fade either.

"Judging from those words, is he kicking up a fuss again and trying to assume control of our Guild?"

"Probably. We have yet to confirm if there is a secret organization working in the shadows this time as well, but we can probably expect various interactions from their pathetic excuse of a guildmaster".

"Secret organization? This time? And wow, Owyl speaks like such a refined gentleman, but he...or rather you both, really hate that guildmaster huh?"

"Ah, at any given time in any major or even moderately sized city, there are about four to five secret organizations planning to try and take control of the city, the kingdom, the continent, or even the world. Low ranking adventurers like yourself shouldn't interact with them normally, and you rarely here about them publicly because they get taken care of behind the scenes, but power and evil abhor a vacuum. So even if we somehow sweep the city and get rid of them all by some miracle, new ones would instantly pop up. As for the relationship with the guildmaster, he is just like these idiots on the ground. By the way, Owyl, please make sure to take care of them".

"Understood..."

"...and do it in a way that wont pick a fight this time".

"...tsk".

Juno felt a chill down his spine, but once again, he did not press further. Wynn looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"What?"

"No, its just...you are young, its fine to push and press a little you know?"

"Eh?"

Wynn could not help but playfully poke Juno's cheek

"Seriously, you are weirdly perceptive. Well, I like that too, but usually kids your age are way more curious. You seem to excel at reading the room though and picking up on nuances".

"Ah...yeah, I guess so".

"Well, in any case, that guy is a major annoyance. The guildmaster I mean this time. He thinks muscles are power, and that tall muscular people are the only ones really capable of being high ranking adventurers. His Guild heavily promotes warriors, but because of his favoritism and ideals, rogues and mages are not seen as good as warriors there. The previous guildmaster of that guild was like that too, but he is even worse. Anyways, he is also an S-Rank, so because of that most don't bother arguing against him. Especially since he usually just challenges them to a duel. Annoyingly, he is capable of remembering me and perceiving the truth about me to some extent, but doesn't approve or accept of an S-Ranker with my height, build, face, or such, let alone a guildmaster. He tends to at least try and act respectful to the others, because they look like adults mostly".

"Ah...so basically, even though he is capable of seeing through your curse, he still actively denies it for his own personal opinions?"

"Yes. And so I hate him. In fact, all tall muscular handsome people should go die. Lets at least cut them down by a head's length or two at least".

"Master Wynn, your inner thoughts are leaking out again".

"Ah....ahem, anyways. Lets go enter the guild now".

Wynn proceeded to take Juno by the hand again and forcibly led him about the corner, back onto the main street, and towards a building. It was a large building with at least five stories. It was also quite wide, double the width at least of the buildings surrounding it, maybe even a bit more. Just like the other city, the Adventurer's Guild was surrounded by alchemists, blacksmiths, healers, inns, and other shops that would cater to them. The guild was also located among the main road, so they already got a lot of traffic, but this was clearly prime real estate to these shops.

"The first floor is as you would expect. We have several all purpose lines, as well as three overflow line spots. There is one line reserved just for those who are rank B or higher. We also have a line that is only for students of the Adventurer's School, which is where young children can go for free to take classes and train to be adventurers".

"Its free?"

"Yeah, I set it up, and the guild funds it. Its so children can learn and practice early. We also serve lunch there, so we can make sure they are getting at least one proper meal a day. If necessary, the school has a dormitory as well. The beds are limited, so sometimes we have to have people share beds, but its better then sleeping on the streets. See, kids from poor families or orphans with no families go there a lot. And this lets us make sure newbie adventurers properly understand the dangers and are a bit better prepared so we can avoid as many deaths among them as possible".

Wynn then realized something, and then blushed a bit.

"Ah, I ended up getting a bit sidetracked again. Anyways, kids stay there until they graduate, which is either when they get to be thirteen years old, or when they reach a certain rank, usually D-Rank, although I once had someone stay until they were B-Rank due to...special circumstances".

"Did their family need money also?"

"...no, I had to get them help. He had a gambling addiction that I absolutely had to crush, although it turned out they were using special drugs and magic to help induce people to have gambling addictions to rake in the money, so I crushed the organization all together. But I had to make sure they were totally clear and capable of looking after themselves and making plenty off money in case they relapsed, although thankfully they never did. I would have really gone at them after all, and they felt really bad and didn't want to disappoint me again...well, not that I really blamed them considering everything. I would never turn my back on one of my students who needs my help, I think they understood that, but...well, that stuff is complicated. Anyways, once again I got off track".

"Yeah. You are like a grandpa in that regard. You love tangents".

"Haaaa...I cant deny that totally, but I am just prone to them! I don't love them! Anyways, there are meeting rooms and a library on the second floor. There is also an eatery/bar, although some people choose to eat and drink in the first floor which also has one. Ah, don't accept any drinks from others, as they may be alcoholic and you are underage. Also, my office is on the second floor as well as the offices of the Vice and Sub Guildmasters, as well as the assistants' office room".

"Right".

"The third floor is where the spare beds are, the rooms are small and not that high of quality. But they are good. Fourth floor and up are staff only. They are special record rooms, the vaults, and some other things I cant really get into".

As he said that, they finally entered the guild itself. It was very crowded, with various adventurers in line. All of the receptionists were busy, but there was one very noticeable spot in front of one of the receptionists. Two groups of adventurers were arguing with each other, and a young girl and boy duo had been pushed aside and were crying on the ground.

Wynn headed over to the empty receptionist spot next to the troubled receptionist. And then, in a tone that was kind of cutesy and adorable, he looked over at the receptionist.

"Ahhhh, Allie-nee, what is going on here?"

Hearing that voice, Allie looked over at Wynn. She went from conflicted to joyous. Juno also saw a bit of scheming in her eyes, as she played along with Wynn.

"Ah, Wynn-chan! What great timing! As you can see, we have gotten an increase in traffic, and these adventurers pushed those kids out of the way while trying to cut in line. They also tried to cut in line of the students line earlier, and its impeding work! Can you be a dear and come behind the desk to help us out? You are always so good at this!"

"Sure! I will help you out! Neechan is always so helpful to me, and she really is overworked, especially given how pretty she is! I bet lots of people just want to appreciate it, but I will help move things along! Ah, this is my friend Juno! We met on my trip, so I will show him the ropes. Feel free to send any other problems you need solved our way! For neechan, I will give it my all!"

"Oh, thank you! My wonderful young knight!"

It wasn't unusual for F, G, and H Ranked adventurers to take quests like this, since it helped them learn more about the potential dangers and what it takes to be a higher ranked adventurer by seeing them bring in parts for rewards. To most people, this seemed like an innocent exchange between a young boy fledgling adventurer and a kind but overworked receptionist who was like an older sister to him.

However, Juno with his special talent to read between the lines, could see the truth.

Receptionist: "Ah, Wynn, please deal with these idiots and beat them to a pulp. They are looking at me with vulger eyes and are causing all sorts of issues".

Wynn: "Mhm. I will crush them thoroughly. I will show them what happens when you make such rude and vulger advances and cause trouble within my guild. Let me just move Juno, this boy I saved, behind the counter for safety reasons. He has been through a lot. These tall muscular bastards will pay, especially that leader with the kind of handsome face. Ah, could you make sure the kids are properly treated and distracted?"

Receptionist: "Thank you! Leave it to me!"

That was what Juno picked up. He might have missed it if he didn't know the truth about Wynn though.

Juno quickly moved behind the counter with Wynn, and found a spare shield in the back. He raised it instinctively while sticking to the background, while Wynn got a stool and moved it to the counter, getting onto it and being on his knees as he looked out over the counter.

The impatient group that was pushing everyone around and being rude, seeing a new line open up, went to it immediately. But when they saw Wynn, they snorted.

"I guess anyone can become an adventurer in this weak town. So many flabby looking people. What are you, H-Ranked? You definitely cant fight when you look that pathetic".

Ah, he is also from that guild. Yeah, I should probably just deal with this quickly. Ah, but this is the Guild, not the alley. I cant just beat them up in front of everyone.

"Brat, you better just fork over the rewards we deserve! That receptionist shortchanged us!"

Wynn looked over to the receptionists, and one in glasses looked over to Wynn.

"The dismantling was poor, they just brute strengthed it without bothering to dismantle it properly. Most of it is now low grade or just unusable".

"Like hell it was bitch! Given how weak and young a number of your adventurers seem to be, its probably just too amazing for you to understand!"

Wynn let out an internal sigh. Certainly, Wynn did not deny their own guild had some people exactly like this. Unfortunately, they had people who certainly acted like this as well. It was a big city, and Wynn had to follow the rules. He couldn't let personal feelings affect the work, at least to the best of his ability.

But for adventures of Argylon to be all like this so far?

This is a serious issue. Does that idiot even know how to properly run a guild?

"Not to mention, look how weak some of them are, having to rely on magic and wooden staffs, or small knives that barely look capable of cutting through meat. Now give us the money we are owed! Or perhaps we should do what our guildmaster said, and give a spanking to any brats we see...after all, only the weak would rely on such inferior methods".

Alright, this idiot...he was sent to cause issues for sure now.

Wynn had failed to keep his personal feelings from affecting his thought process. He didn't react right away, but his thoughts were already how to crush him right here and now.

Even the receptionist who asked for help was concerned now, clearly worried about a potential bloodbath.

But she also seemed to sort of root for it at the same time. In fact, the receptionists and a number of adventurers were watching with anticipation.

"Fine. Hold out your hand".

Wynn said that, which made everyone confused. He held out his hand, expecting to get paid. Wynn then grasped that hand with a gold coin in his palm. He then gripped down tightly.

At that moment, Wynn channeled mana into his hand and strengthened it by about twenty times. As such, in that instant he was able to crush and break that hand right then and there, without letting go. He also used magic to send currents through the man's body, causing a shock in certain areas to prevent him from screaming out. He looked incredibly pained and desperate, but he couldn't even collapse to the ground. His legs were locked in place.

"Here. This is for the various medical fees you must have from fighting such a creature, oniisan~"

Wynn with a childlike voice, said such a thing in a dark and threatening tone. That should have been a total contradiction, but Wynn did it just now so clearly it wasn't.

The other three drew their weapons.

"I don't know what cheap trick you just did kid, but you wont get away with that!"

"Probably some magic tool behind the counter! Lets drag him from it and teach him a lesson for doing that to the boss!"

"He definitely cant do that again!"

They shouted that, as they spread out into combat positions. As they did, they bumped into a young boy with a hood over his head that had two long outstretched ear attachments to it. The hood was a part of a blue cloak and covered his body, but it now had a brown stain from the drink he had been holding. It looked sort of like a modern travel coffee cup, but old timey and with a magic stone embedded into it.

"Tsk, get out of the way brat!"

"...don't spill my coffee".

The small boy said such a thing, and suddenly all three of them flew into the air and slammed into the ceiling. The boy continued to walk over to Wynn, without once looking at the trash as it fell back to the floor unconscious. As if that was not enough though, even without looking, the boy opened up a small pouch at his side. Their weapons all suddenly flew into the air, and even though each one was much larger then the pouch, they all seemed to go in and fit easily.

"Mhm. Wynn".

"Ciel".

"Quest done. Want reward".

"Sure, but could you do us all a favor and try to use more words or ask nicer?"

"Too bothersome. Wasteful energy".

"Right right. Don't worry. Come over tonight, I will make it. Here is the money part of the reward".

"Mhm. See you tonight".

Ciel said that as he took the coins, and headed back out of the guild. One of them that apparently didn't pass out tried to grab him, but an empty mug from a nearby Elf suddenly flew into his head and knocked him out.

"Mhm. As bonus, ill drag the trash out".

Suddenly, the four adventures who had been causing trouble seemed to be dragged by magic out of the Adventurer's Guild.

"Allie, how much longer until Ciel is eligible for a C-Rank promotion?"

"He just needs to complete a few more high level requests".

"Yeah, its a waste to leave a boy that talented at D-Rank".

"There is one other issue though. I have concerns about his ability to cooperate with others. He barely passed the bar for D-Rankers in that level. I am not sure he can participate as a C-Ranker with that level".

"I will see if I can get him into a temporary party before we hold the Rank Up Exam. Well, it cant be helped he doesn't have much practice yet. He only joined the guild nine months ago".

Wynn then looked back over to Juno, who was watching with amazement.

"Now, lets get to work on our request for today, helping with the receptionists!"

"R-right!"

"And also, welcome to the Ruzzell Adventurer's Guild! Happy to have you!"

And thus, Juno had officially been introduced to Wynn's Guild.
