. . . Normally we'd stay away from the Edge. It wasn't a pleasant place to be. Many of us had fallen over in the past and it was deemed off limits, but I didn't really care. I walk to the cliffs all the time, exploring around and seeing what was to be seen. Not that there was much to see in the Void.
Let me explain. My name is Īlчпīь Līьчг. For those of you reading this, that would be Adigar Darim. I am a Voidspawn. We have a similar body shape to that of humans, but are taller, darker (literally), and we actually try not to kill everything we touch.
Now, here in the Void there isn't much to keep you busy so a lot of us tend to wander for what you'd call millennia. All that walking is what makes us tall and skinny. Larger strides and less resistance against the small amount of air in the Void.

There are remnants of structures built by the deities before us, but have mostly been taken by guilds who seek a way out into the mortal realm. More and more us have swayed toward the guilds. Striving to do anything that doesn't involve walking endlessly.
I instead visit the Edge, a sheer cliff that drops into a ravine about 57 miles wide and 702 miles long. Some say it's the entrance to Hell, others say it's the gateway to another reality. To me, it just looks like a big hole. I mean, no one that goes in has come back out so maybe it either is a portal of some kind or just a lot of bad news.
I was about to find out. I've been contemplating jumping in for quite some time now, not that I was suicidal. We Voidspawn aren't really susceptible to mental trauma like humans. Plus when we “die” we just reincarnate as a younger version of ourselves. I was simply seeking a greater purpose.
Walking up to the Edge, I stared down into the darkness below. It was time. I stepped over the cliff and fell in.
