The Abyss has never been explained. It just, sort of always existed. Be it in the multitude of stories there. Or here, where something always stares back. The Abyss is a natural fear of the unknown. The fear of not being able to see what’s around that corner, what’s in that shadow. The fear of being watched. That fear is a conclusion that there’s something out.

The Abyss under Fate’s purview is evil, but anything is possible after Fate. That’s a lie. All things considered, regardless of any situation, The Abyss is evil. It’s born evil, does evil, been and will always be evil. Be it under Fate’s purview or free.

The Abyss is whatever Fate needs it to be. Be it the standard mindless hoards or with traits, personalities, and sophistication. The Abyss sets the standard of evil high enough to become that universal threat that brings a bunch of folk together, to fight something other than each other or themselves.

The same happens in the Fateless realm, but The Abyss isn’t bound to failure. The Abyss of the Fateless realm hunts and assimilates every Abyss, learning and adapting everything at its disposal to hunt you down.

Magics come in many forms and are not so strictly defined after Fate. This ‘novel’ was created as a means to extend the range of The Abyss beyond locality. This ‘novel’ will be written and distributed in your dimension, the 3rd dimension.
