Chapter 9 start: Gallant shield.
Godolf look straight at Ben and mutter under his breath, ” I give up.. Sigh.. ”. With that said, Godolf sat up from his instructor chair and proceed to walk in a certain direction. Further into the peak, almost beyond the boundary of the forbidden land. However, Godolf step no more. ” This is as far as I could take you. ”, said Godolf, shoulder slump and hand resting on his side relaxingly.
Confused and panic, Ben ask simply with rough grating voice, ” why? ”. Hearing the question, Godolf turn around slowly, feeling the age biting at him. ” I can’t go on this boundary, we protector are forbidden to do so. Especially more so when I am the last of the protector. ”, replied Godolf bluntly. Knowing that he would be resting on this ground forever.
Ben too sad to part, try to used his power but before Ben could use it, Godolf spoke up. ” I see what you can do, but it is no use when face with the power of wishes from the Gooden lord since his grown power cancel yours. Who can grant wishes. I am sure that your power compares to the lord is still too little to compare. ”
Getting this replied, Ben quickly commented back, ” I don’t have the power of wishes. I have different power all together that could achieve the same effect. ” Ben replied hit Godolf suddenly, making him falter in his word. ” Really? Do you mean after twenty years I could be free? ” Once the word dawn on Godolf, he sighs. Because he knows, Goldolf knows that it will be impossible to hide his track from the lord even after getting out. So to not make any false hope for himself and his friend, he said to Ben, ” Not possible. ” Quick, brutal, and bluntly. The word incites intense emotion from Ben. The emotion that could practically be seen spilling from his eyes.

Ben remembering Godolf history asked him, ” Are you dreaming? ”. A beautiful question that triggers deep thought from Godolf. After a couple of second of contemplation, Godolf yet again replied simply, ” No. ” His face visibly clear, Godolf finally understood. He understands that he is living. Not following his destiny or fate but living. He could relate since if it is a destiny, then didn’t that mean his family being massacre is destiny fault? If it is then it isn’t good to follow it. Not now or later. So with this newfound philosophy, Godolf is determined and request something of Ben embarrassingly.
” Ben.. I understand.. Please take me because I will choose to live my life. Not living for other…. Can you do me this favor? ”. Seeing Godolf laying down all his card on the table, Ben smilingly replied, ” Of course my dear friend because even if anything else can happen, I will not let you abandon your chance to live or else I could not ever forgive myself if that is the case. ”
Finish saying his word, Ben pointed his index finger up to the sky and shouted, ”’For my friend! For his favor! The heaven shall become false and the world shall turn. My eternal wish to let him be free. So Part! All RESTRICTION HAD ON HIM, IS FALSE!!!! ” the word as if churning the sky, got pull into Guldolf. Visibly breaking the chain running down from his head to his leg, creating an audible breaking noise. The breaking of the chain, the freedom of his body, Godolf cried.. He cried like never before. He cried his emotion dry.
Like an Oasis in a desert, Godolf at this moment seems free. Not caring about time nor the place, he did what he wanted most. Seeing that, put a smile on Ben face, knowing partially how Godolf feels like at this moment. So after waiting for Godolf to be done sobbing his old wine tears, Ben asked gently and soothingly to his new partner, ” Got your hat? Because it’s going to be a bright day tomorrow. That I know for sure. ” With that said Ben turn back and walk forward into the distance, followed by his new partner Godolf who silently with a grin replied to that question.
” I don’t have a hat, but I would do just fine with a gallant shield walking at the front.”
