I was glad it was not a destructive magical element that was cast, but... Is it not monsters are the strongest prey in the days of adventurers? Rather than prey, should I say predator? Well, it is true that they were also being hunted by adventurers so, going way around, I guess it will just end up the same.

Though I said we were casting out skills in our training, it was not really a skill that I was talking about. They were just pre-skills that I don't have any interest in upgrading as true skills.

I don't have any idea about monsters. I haven't yet fought with one before. Heck, I hadn't even seen one. Seriously this could be a very big trouble for they probably numbered in thousand.

As I asked, those monsters who were certainly hungry or just impatiently craving for blood have one by one disappeared. Rather than disappearing, I should say that they departed away from the circle at enormous speed which causes me to see nothing but only lines of lights.

It was the sounds that could be heard as those monsters dived hastily to the ground.

[Aaargghh... Kyaaah... Gyaaarghh...]

Horrified screams of people could be heard. What would someone expect? As those monsters looked like meteorites that were violently smashing the place. Causing numerous clouds of smoke to emerge in every direction.

"Gulp..."

I then step backwards closer to Father.

"What to do, father?"

I was so focused on the scene that I hadn't even noticed that my father was already not around.

"Huh? Father...?"

I could just look at the house as I wondered where he could've gone to.

Tsiiiw... Poorgshhh...!!!

"Huh?!"

A loud burst occurred behind me.

Sounds of falling soil could be heard. Some were even falling on my head.

"Gulp"

I could only swallow as I thought that for thousands of monsters to come, it is not impossible right? For one or two to appear?

A terrifying monster is in my back!

Just its presence was enough to harden my breathing. It was enough for the atmosphere to stiffen.

Could this be... Fear?

I immediately dashed several meters backwards.

I hold my sword with both hands and then put on a fighting stance.

When I got a good look at it.

What a very terrifying creature.

About 10 meters tall monster was standing before me!

I then got a look at the monster's figure.

It is plump.

I don't know why but seeing this monster in such a somehow cute body was kind of... unsettling.

Seeing it could give you an idea of how pleasing a round bottle of potion is.

If it's not for its rugged appearance, I would say that this creature is perfect to be kept as a pet.

Now, what is terrifying about it was...

It's murderous intent to kill!

I could only do grimace as I thought how gravely contradicted its appearance was.

Ugh... Whoever demon created this monster sure really has a weird taste. Creating a somewhat cute murderer monster.

"That said..."

I then dashed off in an enormous speed to its front then dealt a slash to its neck.

"...It is not at a height I can't handle!"

Shiiing...

The light could be seen as the sword shifted in instant motion.

Shooowg...

It sounds as if it defies the necessary time for its travel.

[Cracked... Shatters... ]

"Wha..."

Its plump rugged arm shielded its neck.

"So tough..."

Yeah. Its skin (or should I say scales?) was so tough that it caused my undoubtedly sharp sword to get jagged.

"Tsk."

I immediately withdrew my sword and then unleashed another more powerful slash.

I increased both the speed and strength of that slash so I was pretty convinced that it would cut through both its arm and neck. If it could even shield itself with that speed.

Shooowg...

As expected. The monster that once blocked my attack without effort was now hasn't even been able to react.

[Kruushiiing... Trooonk... Pragssh... Cracked... Shatters... ]

"Huh...?!"

You could only see my eyes widening as fragments of the sword passed by it.

"Ser... Iously...?"

Yes. It indeed hit its neck without it being able to react, but...

Why is it that my sword was the one that got shattered instead?

My sword was broken in half!

'What misfortune...'

I could only grit my teeth as that thought came to mind.

I then looked at its neck as I uttered.

"How tough..."

It then used its arm to punch me.

The moment it pull its arm as it readied for releasing a definitely murderous blow, I'd even felt its pulling pressure sucking me.

Tsk. I felt like I was being dragged.

It could even pull me just by withdrawing its arm!

What power!

Seeing its fist already targeting me, I could just accelerate my brain as to what method I would use to survive.

This was happening too fast.

I am still in mid-air and now it was about to unleash a punch? How am I going to escape? I am falling too slowly due to how fast this creature moves. I can even feel that I was not shifting at all.

If there could just be a thing to push my feet against... Sigh...

Of course, everything is helpless in mid-air huh?

The gigantic (about as big as me) plump arm passes through the air in just an instant.

I have no choice...

We then made contact.

The moment we did, an enormous pressure of wind began raging away from us.

Is the sound you could hear as the wind was violently blowing the surrounding entities (trees, grass, ground, fences, the building, etc.) away from our impact.

I wondered how my already halve sword was holding out when...

...I saw father beside me!

I immediately remembered the moment Father grasped my sword with only the tip of his fingers after seeing him blocking the destructive punch of that monster.

"Father!"

I could just exclaim in relief.

'Right, with that skill father has, there is no doubt that we are safe!'

Father then lets out a dark beam, finishing the monster off as the beam goes through its heart.

We then landed on the ground in synch with the fall of the monster.

It shook the ground due to its great mass.

I could just cover my face from the dust it spreads.

"What size... "

I muttered as I scrutinize the monster's appearance.

"So this is monster, huh?"

I was still in gape looking at the tough scales and wondering how easy father blasted through it when Father called out to me.

"Come, Greek."

"Huh?"

He pointed back to the house with his thumb.

"Huh?! Why?!"

'Aren't we going to fight?' is what I'd thought as I followed father with haste.

I was looking at Father waiting for details as we were hurriedly walking.

I was hoping for Father to notice me and finally give some explanation but unfortunately there was none.

Ugh...

I could just let out a breath and smile as I felt that waiting was just a waste.

And while at it, I then just asked.

"Uhm... Father? Why are we going inside? Are we not going to fight? Not that I can be of any help though."

We then entered the house and continued walking. Father didn't react at all.

Noticing we were headed towards his study room, I muttered.

"Where are we even going by the way?"

Of course, I could just ask that. Father couldn't be thinking of hiding us inside this large house right? Well, I trust Father at everything, so... Whatever.

"You and Sera are going away from here."

"Huh?! Why?!"

"Because it's dangerous of course."

"But with that power of yours, why do we have to?"

"Greek, you do know that there are thousands of them, right?"

"Y... Yeah."

'What, with that power of his he could just blast them all up, couldn't he?'

"And you do know that in those thousands of numbers, there could be more stronger and dangerous ones, right?"

"Y... Yeah..."

We then arrived at the study room's door.

Realizing that I finally understood, Father continued in a solemn manner.

Putting his hand on the doorknob, Father said...

I could only inhale in shock after hearing what he said.

I hadn't thought that I had already forgotten about such a horrible fact. No wonder Father would worry about us that much!

Father then opened the door.

As the door was shifting away from my sight, I saw a bright clear green light. It was being produced by a glowing magic circle that was on the floor. Inside the circle was a girl which was definitely Sera.

At first, I thought they were doing a sacrificial ritual.

"So, Greek, get in already."

I was still in wonder watching the green magic circle when Father called out to me.

"Huh?!!! Wait a minute, what is happening?! Aren't you guys proceeding too fast?"

Of course, I have the right to complain. I was just lying on a sofa then got invited for training. The surroundings then got dark and monsters came. I was even still in wonder how my father got a skill that powerful and I was immediately called to get inside the house. And now I am going to enter a circle I didn't even know?

As I was waiting for enlightenment, the whole place forcefully shook. But it's not because of various impacts on the ground.

"What was that...?"

It seems like the ground was being shaken of pressure coming from the skies.

The whole house was momentarily quivering every moment that force came in contact.

I could only gaze upward as I muttered...

"What is happening up there?"
