Kaeron raised her head slowly, taking a deep, long breath.
“So? Do you have an answer?” Azrael smirked at the woman.
“Yes. I do,” She nodded.
“Okay then! Spit it out!” Lilin exclaimed
“It was Tsukasa.”
Kaeron's voice rang clear in the tense silence, the name slicing through the air like a blade.
The fox woman’s expression hardened. She knew things were going to go south very quickly.
“I believe you’re the one behind this,” Kaeron continued, her heart pounding as she met Tsukasa's gaze head-on. “You’ve manipulated everyone around you, twisting their perceptions and controlling the narrative. Noir, Servalia, Youma…all victims of your twisted, murderous mind. You used Shiria’s vulnerability against her and you almost made her believe she was the killer when it was you all along. She is a human being...and you probably did something to her head with your powers. This explains the alluring way you talked to me at the pub, when you finally had the chance to be with me alone. All this is not nearly enough to bring you against a fair, lawful trial...but it is my instinct as a detective…”
Kaeron pointed her finger at her, shouting:

“You are guilty, Tsukasa!”
Time froze. A suffocating silence enveloped Kaeron as she waited for Azrael’s input.
“Bzzt! Wrong!” Azrael shouted.
“What?! It was Shiria, then?!” Lan’en looked at Shiria next.
“Also wrong!” Lilin said.
“What…?” Kaeron muttered, “That can’t be…!”
Kaeron’s insides churned as her thoughts raced.
“Your choices, A and B...they can be added! There is a letter C!” Azrael hinted.
“Letter C? What do you mean?” Kaeron shook her head confused, lowering it in thought again.
Tsukasa hung her head and closed her eyes, “You two did truly see everything, didn’t you? You truly are scary witches…”
Shiria held her hands on her chest, fearful, “W-What do they mean, Kaeron?!”
Kaeron’s face became pale. She raised her head as her eyes shot wide.
“It was both! Both Shiria and Tsukasa are the culprits!”
“What?!” Shiria yelped, “No! I-”
“Good job,” Tsukasa sighed, “You got it right.”
Azrael started clapping happily, “Coooooorrrect!” She shouted, “The answer is…”

"“BOTH!!!!”"
“No! Wait! I didn’t commit any murder!” Shiria started whining.
“Poor Shiria...I feel so sorry for you!” Lilin cooed, “You were caught up in Tsukasa’s twisted experiments…”
“What?!”
“Azrael...for once, can you tell us the truth?” Lan’en looked rattled as she spoke, “Please.”
“Fine, fine...I’m going to tell you all the truth behind Tsukasa and Shiria!” Azrael announced.

You see...Shiria’s real name is Mechanic Guardian TH;{4NAT.05}!

This wonderful and potent puppet is imbued with the power of the god of justice, Tartarus. It's one of the first prototypes that has been circulating around the U.O.R business. Its duty is to prevent crimes with an accurate, hyper-calculating brain and enforce the law with speed and efficiency.
image [https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8wx7e9m2uu5noedf0g2l9/artist_missile_228-amazing-quality-very-aesthetic-absurdres-black-backgroun-s-3804726846.png?rlkey=csmz75sarv7co98i4o8gb1gh5&st=igvgjrj7&raw=1]
However...Tsukasa Tehngyun had other plans for her.
You see, Tsukasa has two lives. Ambassador business...and sorcery.
Yes, ironic, right? She mentioned that she wasn’t a sorceress! Ahahahah!
Her power not only lets her detect weaknesses or strengths...no no no, she is able to manipulate weak souls to her will.
Shiria was a freshly made puppet, who had been stolen by Tsukasa beforehand.
The reason Shiria got her own room and chronos didn't register her as a valid member was because Tsukasa has...connections! A quick call to the family...
"An extra friend wants to come with me, she's helped me do my job a lot lately!"
An...done! With remote access, Chronos was forced to unlock a whole room for an unregistered, improvised guest. Tsukasa placed her carefully on the bed and waited for her to wake up.
From here, you all know how the story went. Me and Lilin, though, saw everything up close!
Here is the answer to all your mysteries!
Tsukasa could control Shiria’s mind any time she wanted, using her own powers too. Since the puppet was ruined and its lawful instincts were gone, Tsukasa became Shiria's new goddess.
First murder!
During the first murder, she stayed with Noir and asked Shiria to make Lan’en fall asleep with her powers...which were supposed to be use to seize and catch criminals.
She made her slip out Lan’en’s bed and reach her to the lobby, using the emergency button. As soon as she was there, Tsukasa fled to the SPA and hid after commanding Shiria to kill Noir, go back to bed and erase the chunk of memory of the murder.
Second murder!
First of all, Tsukasa made Shiria hug Lan’en just as she did during Noir’s night of death. Lan’en fainted with a delayed effect, something Tsukasa probably didn’t plan.
When things settled again, she used Kaeron’s tantrum to seize the moment...she decided she would have killed Servalia. F
First, Tsukasa held Shiria's hand tightly to control her mind once more. That's all there is to it. She probably has to touch people to use her powers.
Shiria went forward to inspect the medical bay as Tsukasa pretended to go to her room. When she met Youma there, she waited until Youma was gone. Tsukasa joined her and they both killed Servalia together. Then, Shiria did the door trick exactly as you all first deduced...she used her own shoelace to do it as Tsukasa watched her closely. After everything was put in place, she left and modified Shiria's memories right before she could reach the pub where Kaeron was.
Third murder!
This one was simple.
When Shiria left the room after Kaeron went to have her shower, she met Tsukasa right in front of Kaeron’s door.
Tsukasa asked Shiria where Kaeron was, and Shiria told her the truth. Then, she simply started using Shiria’s curse again. She asked Shiria to give her Kaeron’s sword. Shiria acted accordingly. Tsukasa grabbed the sword and sent Shiria to call for Lan’en, disappearing into Kaeron’s room after using Kaeron's room code.
Inside, she set everything to make it look like the murder occurred as you all initially thought...through the emergency hatches.
----------------------------------------
Everyone stared at the two with pure shock after Azrael’s story.
“Tsukasa...is all she said the truth?” Alicia asked her.
“Yes. Though I don’t understand how in the hell she could have discovered such things.”
“I’m a witch, sweetie...I know everything. I can read minds and see through everything at once. That’s all,” Azrael giggled. “You were unlucky. If it wasn’t for me, you would have gotten away with it.”
“Shiria…” Lan’en approached the poor girl, whose face was a blanket, “You had no idea, did you?”
“I...I’m so sorry…” she weakly whispered, tears streaming down her face, “I did so many evil things...without even realizing…oh god...oh god!”
Tsukasa’s face was stern. Not a single drop of regret came out of her pores.

“Why, Tsukasa? Why did you do all this?” Kaeron asked her, “What’s your motive? Why mess with U.O.R puppets?"
“I wanted to see how strong was Tartarus's will, truly. I wanted to see if she would have fought my orders. I knew about the escape pod...I was planning to escape through it after I managed to make her kill everyone aboard. I would have simply lied to the family and reported that one of the passengers was a killer," Tsukasa explained...
"...but...these two witches and Kaeron...appeared. I had to stage a stupid murder mystery instead...because they were not going to be taken down by Shiria's weapons. I had to try my best to pin it all on Shiria without giving her away too obviously. And now I’m going to die here because of that. It's just as Azrael said...I was extremely unlucky."
“What was your purpose, exactly?!” Kaeron hissed, “Just killing all the passengers just for fun?!"
“My purpose was observing, detective Kaeron. Observing this puppet's response to the very act she was supposed to stop...murder. Tartarus made sure to give these guardian puppets human emotions to avoid them being too ruthless...making them weak and easy to manipulate at the same time. I simply was going to test its capabilities. To put it simply...I needed to discover how easy it was to manipulate them. It was a perfect occasion...I had my hands on a god's cretion and I could bend it to my will."
Shiria started throwing up on the floor out of self hatred, “I never, ever flinched to her mind control…” she sobbed, “Why?! Why was I so weak?”
Kaeron’s hands shook as she stepped towards Tsukasa.
“You’re a monster, Tsukasa.”
“A monster? Please, don’t make me laugh. Monsters are those who made us like this. Those deities you all follow blindly."

“I am not a monster...I am free. All I do is for us to be one day free from the deties' grasp..."
“I’ve tortured and beat to death a lot of killers like you. You’re just delusional," Kaeron retorted.
Shiria, who was still hunched over, wiped her mouth and looked back up, “You took my life from me! You made me into a killer! My life...my identity! Give them to me! Give them back!!”
Tsukasa’s eyes flickered towards the poor girl, “You never had a life to begin with! Are you even listening, puppet?! All I did was help you realize your true potential! Did you see those holes in their chest? All with a single touch? You bear the power of a god! Would you really have preferred serving a hypocrite such as Tartarus?! You have the potential to be-”

“SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
Tsukasa’s mouth spat blood as Lan’en suddenly punched her face, pushing Kaeron aside. The fox woman fell on the floor weakly. She giggled and tried to lift herself up...
“Violence...revenge...see? We all are monsters, after all…”
And then she slumped on the floor, falling unconscious.
“It’s over, then...we should leave,” Alicia sighed, “Azrael? Show us the way to the escape pod, please.”
“Hm? No way. Kaeron didn’t give us the right answer, after all! Ah-hahahah!” Lilin looked at Kaeron mockingly.
“Are you fucking serious?! She did! Tsukasa was the culprit! Shiria is innocent!” Lan’en yelled, “You can’t leave us here!”
“Hm…I guess you are right…!” Azrael shrugged, “But still. Tsukasa isn’t the answer. The answer was ‘’both’’. Technically Shiria physically committed the murders."
“Are you seriously going to leave us here to die?” Kaeron walked to Azrael, “Come on. You must have a heart left in you.”
“My dear...I feel nothing for you stupid mortals,” Azrael’s hand caressed Kaeron’s face, “But...yes, I think it will be funnier if we see you all struggle instead of giving up."
“Let’s play a game...if you can find the escape pod’s location in five minutes after the emergency alarm starts, we’ll let you aboard!” Lilin giggled.
The two girls disappeared in front of everyone’s eyes.
“Fuck...are they serious?” Lan’en grew pale.
“They are, we gotta-”
The blaring sound of the alarm abruptly cut Kaeron’s voice, echoing throughout the whole lobby.
“Five minutes…” Alicia muttered, growing pale, “We have to move! Now!”
“Yes! Let’s go!”
Lan’en rushed to Shiria and tried to make her get up, “We have to go, friend.”
“But...but I-”
“I don’t give a shit about what you did. It wasn’t you. Let’s go!”
Lillya wiped her tears and nodded, standing up with her.
They all rushed to the elevator, following Alicia’s lead.
“It’s definitely going to be on the ground floor...that’s the only plausible place. There, people get on and off using docking stations...it’s the most intuitive place in case of a grave emergency.”
“What if it’s on the top one? Where all the robots are?!” Lillya suggested.
“Wait! Can’t we just ask Chronos?!” Lan’en suddenly realized, “Chronos!”
The communication device didn’t light up.
“Of course...they disabled him. Those fucking witches!” Alicia cursed, “We don’t have time to try both floors. What do we do?”
Kaeron closed her eyes and took a deep breath, following her instincts, “Ground floor. That has to be where it is.”
They all got into the elevator, which was unlocked because of the emergency. It started going down...slowly...making everyone on edge.
“Go faster! Stupid thing!” Lan’en stomped on the elevator’s floor.
Shiria leaned against the wall, her breath short, “What if we don’t make it in time?”
“We gotta. We gotta get off this goddamn ship...I can’t die here,” Lan’en said, “Don’t worry, Shiria. Even if you can't want to work for the U.O.R because of your crimes...I’ll make you join the pale knight’s oath. We’ll work together. We're vigilantes...we're going to protect you."
“Thank you...Lan’en,” Shiria smiled sweetly.
The elevator finally opened. They all stormed out immediately. Fire sprinklers were set off, pouring water all over their bodies.
“Ahh...okay...okay...where is it?!” Alicia tried to breathe calmly as she scanned the place.
It was a huge place with unused containers, benches, and welcome signs...and the docking platform, which is sealed. The reception robot was gone, probably forever.
“Let’s split up! Anyone who finds something, scream!” Kaeron commanded, running in a random direction.
“Shit, okay! Shiria, follow me!" Lan'en shouted
“I’ll go check there!” Alicia said.
Everyone ran along the walls, checking behind crates, containers, and machinery for anything at all...a door, a gate, a hatch…
Suddenly, Kaeron felt something with her hand as trailed the wall with it. It was a door…a well-hidden door since the only source of light was the strong, blinking red light of the alarm system.
“Girls! I found it! I found the-”
“HELP! SOMEONE!” Lan’en suddenly screamed.
Kaeron immediately rushed to the source of the sound, Alicia was there too.
Shiria was inexplicably holding Lan’en against the ground violently as she cried.
“Shiria! What are you doing?!” Kaeron shouted, “Why are you attacking her?!”
“I-I don’t know! I really don’t! My body is…”
image [https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7n3xu0j9rl4ygbvsscgph/artist_missile_228-amazing-quality-very-aesthetic-absurdres-black-backgroun-s-3890221629.png?rlkey=gnxedrjv7oqn9opmo06lf17eh&st=ccjwnarg&raw=1]
“Doing what it was made for! Killing!”
Tsukasa got out of the elevator, outstretching her hand towards Lillya.
“You! Motherfucker! Leave her alone!!!”
Lan’en pushed Shiria away and sprinted towards Tsukasa full speed, charging her fist.
“SHIRIA! MY CREATION! YOU ARE A KILLING MACHINE! EXTERMINATE THEM ALL AND DO NOT HESITATE! YOU ARE-”
Tsukasa’s skull cracked as soon as Lan’en landed her punch, making her whole body slam against the elevator’s doors. She was finally dead.
“Ahh...ahhh!!! Please! Go! Go!!! I’m going to-! Ahhh!!”
Lillya turned around and bolted towards Kaeron, who immediately dodged her attack.
She’s fast! Kaeron thought.
“What do we do?! She’s out of contr-”
Alicia was interrupted by Shiria, who wildly turned around with an incredible speed and was against her.
Her arm shifted its form, becoming a sharp, monstrous blade.
A loud clang could be heard as Lillya swung her deadly weapon. Kaeron hit Lillya’s arm with her scabbard, protecting Alice.
“She’s too strong! Go, you two! The escape pod is inside that door! Go!” Kaeron said, pointing at their only way out. “We have no time! I’ll calm her down!”
“Are you sure!?” Lan’en asked.
“Yes! Go!” Kaeron replied, parrying and dodging Lillya’s blows.
As soon as the two were gone, Kaeron could focus again.
She leaped backwards, keeping her blade sealed tightly as she stared at her friend.
“Kaeron! Go! J-Just go! I can’t...I can’t stop!! Please!”
“You have two minutes, by the way!” Lilin suddenly appeared above one of the containers, her feet dangling.
Kaeron stood there, unsure of what to do. Her heart pounded in her chest as the red light made her sword’s scabbard shine bright.
“You have to kill me!” Shiria charged at her again, her horrible arm-blade hit Kaeron’s parry. Kaeron kicked her side, staggering her, “I don’t want to become a killing machine! Please! Help me!”
“I can’t kill you!” Kaeron shouted, attempting to hit her with her dull weapon hard, “Please! Let me save you, Shiria!”
She was too strong, too fast. Was it her puppet body? Was it Tsukasa’s curse?
Kaeron tried over and over to knock her out, Shiria’s movements were picking up hers as the fight went on...improving precision and speed.
“Ah!” Kaeron hissed in pain as Lillya finally managed to cut through her body, blood fell down her leg as Kaeron turned around, feeling the pure, intense fear of death.
“One minute, Kaeron!” Lilin exclaimed from who knows where, “Either you die here with her or you go! No other choice!”
“I’m sorry...I’m so sorry...I wish I could stay...still!” Shiria whined, “Just kill me, Kaeron! Please!”
Kaeron felt shivers as her wound kept bleeding. Time slowed in her mind as her eyes unfocused…
She saw Keina beside Lillya.
image [https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ir0lqdsv7q4td0rvi9p9b/artist_missile_228-amazing-quality-very-aesthetic-absurdres-dark-background-s-1564487070.png?rlkey=rzl2363n3govhhnc2x49h0lre&st=vjzxd5ft&raw=1]
Her beautiful dress, her soft lips she used to kiss to carve a smile in them.
“You did enough, Kaeron. You did your best,” She muttered, “Let it go. Save yourself.”
“No…! I want to save her!” She hissed through her pain, stepping forward with her sword sealed, “I will never…ever let someone die again! I promised that to you!” She screamed, her voice piercing through the deafening siren.
Her tears ruined her sight, she stared at Shiria’s blurry silhouette as she ran towards her with thirst for blood.
Kaeron dodged her attack skillfully, immediately rushing at her with her sword. The scabbard was knocked away immediately by Lillya’s next attack, forcing Kaeron to retreat once more.
“Just let it go, Kaeron,” Keina whispered in her ear, “You can’t always be a hero.”
“What do I live for, then?!” She sobbed, “Why am I even still alive?!” She screamed again, “If I’m not to protect the innocent...then what is the point?!”
“Thirty seconds!” Lilin cackled, “I would start going now, if I was you! Bye bye Kaeron!”
“I don’t have an answer to your question, Kaeron. But you must survive. For me...for Shiria. We both want you to keep going.”
Shiria aimed at Kaeron’s heart with another fierce thrust.
image [https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/q5hnzxotas8jg74ugpi78/artist_missile_228-amazing-quality-very-aesthetic-absurdres-black-backgroun-s-4159855387.png?rlkey=9h1tbst2dw22cns1sthk2oh32&st=o5yuuvxk&raw=1]
Kaeron slowly unsealed her blade, red like blood, black like death. Time suddenly stopped, everything was motionless. The water of the sprinklers froze as Kaeron gently walked forward, her eyes closed.
With a single slash, she cut Lillya’s chest open. Then, she calmly walked behind her and sealed her sword once more…letting time’s flow resume.
----------------------------------------
Darkness and then light.
The poor girl looked at her own body moving by itself, and then, she looked around– a red hue flashed her eyes, then it faded, leaving her in pure darkness...and then it reappeared thereafter, letting her see again. A rhythm of red light, filling her vision, made her heart race.
On top of her head, countless droplets of artificial rain fell, making her whole body wet, cold, and shivering.
In front of her, there was a woman that brought her sorrow and fear, which walked towards her slowly as her body attempted to end her life.
She tried to escape from it all, but her body couldn’t stop... her mind was detached from her body.
The second after, her chest was torn open, blood flowing out of it as she fell backwards.
Kaeron caught her in her arms, gently laying her down.
“Pretend this is all a dream, my dear. No. A nightmare. What you must do now is ponder the significance of the life you really have...and then go back to the waking world. That’s where you will find all your answers to happiness.”
A delusional prayer for a poor, dying soul.
“K-Kaeron…?” Shiria reached for Kaeron’s hand, squeezing it tightly.
“Yes?”
“Why did you call me Shiria?”
Kaeron held her tears as she replied, “It’s the name of the daughter I wished to have with Keina.”
“Ah...that’s so...cute…”
She closed her eyes upon those words, her mouth still agape because of the pain. Her last breath escaped her lips as her hand went limp. Her heart stopped beating, her soul finally went to rest.
She kissed her forehead and left her forever.
----------------------------------------
Time resumed again after Kaeron used her power to get to the pod, ten seconds remaining.
“You did it! Congratulations!” Lilin exclaimed.
Alicia and Lan’en, who were sitting down, immediately got up and rushed to Kaeron as the doors of the pod behind her closed.
“What happened to Lillya?!” Lan’en asked her, “What did you do?!”
“My ability to stop time can only be used to kill. She was too fast for my normal self...I wanted to...knock her out but...I wasn’t fast enough.”
“God…” Lan’en eyes glistened as she held back her tears, “Poor girl…”
“She didn’t deserve this,” Alicia shook her head.
Azrael pressed the big red button on the console and the escape pod launched itself away from the cruise, rumbling loudly.
“If only you two didn’t force us to leave so quickly! We would have found another way! Definitely!” Alicia yelled at her, “You’re monsters!”
“Hey now...I am the reason you figured out the killer at all,” Azrael smirked, “My game, my rules! Simple. Does someone want some tea? This pod is well equipped!” She said, standing up and heading to the small kitchen room.
“You fucking psychopath! You-”
Kaeron stopped Lan’en and Alicia immediately, “Girls, it’s useless. Don’t let them get to you even more. The pod will head to a random space station...and there, it will be all over…we’ll get on with our lives. Give up on justice.”
Lan’en shook her head in disgust and left for the pod’s sleeping area. Kaeron and Alicia did the same.
“Oh well...the tea’s all for us, I guess,” Kaeron chuckled and shrugged, looking at Lilin.
----------------------------------------
Kaeron sat on her bunk bed, looking at the Elysium’s disappearing figure.
“The family is going to track us down, definitely. They’ll question us about the bodies,” Lan’en sighed, “I’ll have a lot of explaining to do to the others.”
“No. The Elysium is without fuel. Why do you think Azrael mentioned us dying unless we escaped with her?” Alicia retorted, “Before the family even realizes the trip hasn’t gone well, every single component will run out of energy. The Elysium will lose its balance and go into an endless void without stabilization. It will explode because of that, eventually...or crash on a moon or planet. Everything will be vaporized...the bodies too. We’re probably safe...legally.” She explained.
“Good...we’ll just say shit hit the fan and Chronos told us about the escape pod if they ever contact us,” Lan’en sighed with relief.
They all looked at the spot where the Elysium was...now replaced with stars and a black void. The pod was very fast.
“I’m glad we’re alive,” Alicia muttered,
“Me too,” Lan’en stretched, “Though I left all my stuff there...my claymore…”
“Yes...I lost my equipment and my dolls. I’ll have to make them from scratch. What about you, Kaeron? How do you feel? Did you leave something important in your room?”
Kaeron raised her eyes and hugged her sword.
“No. I only came with my sword, which was in a suitcase...and, well, my wardrobe. I’ll just buy the stuff back.”
“Good. What are your plans from now on? Do you have somewhere to go? Something to do?” Lan’en asked her.
“No. I don’t. I was invited to this cruise because my deceased girlfriend had won two free tickets at the lottery. I never used mine until now. I wish I never did.”
“I’m sorry, Kaeron. You’ll figure something out...I’m sure,” Alicia frowned.
Kaeron’s fingers caressed the hilt of her blade gently, her gaze empty.

“I have nothing to live for. But...I’ll keep moving, if nothing else. I owe it to her…and to Shiria.”
