“Yami-chan! Yami-chan!” I stretched my limbs as I was being shook. “Let’s play hero vs villain!” I sat in Indian style and looked at Tenko and pouted, “No!” I crossed my arms. 

“Owh, pleeeaase!” He begged. 

“You always make me play the villain!” I huffed.

“Oh, come on….” Tenko watched me lay back on the futon.

“If I get Mon as my sidekick, then I’ll be a villain” I smiled as Mon ran to me to kiss my cheek.

“Alright, fine” Tenko sighed.

“Yay! But we have to be quiet, cause your dad-”

“hates it when we play heroes. I get it..”

I pouted and looked at his dried eyelids, “Ten-kun, does  your dad still..” he looked up at me and smiled sadly.

I teared up and gave him a hug.

Few months later

“Ten-kun! Check this out!” I held my hand infront of me and directed it to one of his toys. Strings shot out from my fingertips and wrapped around his toy. I snatched it to me, grabbing it with my hand.

I smirked and looked at him before holding the toy beside my face and spoke, “Pretty amazing, right?” 

Tenko’s eyes lit up, “Woah! You already got your quirk? You’re only 4!” He said jealousy. 

I patted his shoulders, “You’ll get it soon enough, I mean, you’re 6” I scoffed with a smirk.

He playfully punched my arm, “My quirk will be better than yours”

“Yami-chan, you know, our grandma was a hero” Tenko whispered as he pulled out a picture. 

“Woah, she’s pretty!” My eyes lit.

“Yup, nee-chan found the picture!” Tenko said excitedly.

Mon ran to us and started licking our faces, “Wow, I can’t believe it!” I said happily before we started playing with Mon.

Slam!

“Tenko! Did you sneak into my study?!” Our body jolted. Hana then burst into tears and cried to her father. 

“Tenko, he-- he said he wanted to go in there!” she cried. I got shocked and stood up straight to object. But his father had already swung at Tenko’s face.

My legs shook from fear that they gave up on me. I felt the soft grass on my palms as I looked at Tenko. “T-Tenko-kun..” I quivered before looking up at his dad who stomped back inside.

I crawled to Tenko who wailed on the ground, grass covering his face. Mon whimpered to Tenko, nudging at him. Tenko laid on the grass with his shoulders jumping lightly from the hiccups. I didn’t know what to do so I only laid my head on his back with one of my arms over him as Mon also laid his head on Tenko’s head.

“Hayami,” I looked to see who called, it was my mother “let’s go” She smiled sadly at the sight. I nod as I get up, having Tenko to get up too. 

He wiped his snot, “See you later, Yami-chan”

I looked at him but not happily, “Mm!”

I head to my mother before looking back, seeing he had sat in the corner along with his dog. I looked up at mom, “Uncle is a bad guy..” I whispered and she looked at me sadly.

“Hayami-chan, get in the car first. We still have to talk to uncle Kotaru” Her dad said, with an angry look on his face. “Dad?” I called before getting the car door shut on my face.

Waiting for some time, the floor shook. I looked out the window, “Earthquake?” I sat back down and stretched and yawned at the same time, “I hope they come soon” I said to myself before drifting to sleep.

…

“Ey… he… hey!...” 

The sound of the door opening woke me up. My arm supported my staying seated as I rubbed my eyes with my other hand. “Mom? Dad?” I called, looking around as my visions were still blurred and blinded by the bright lights.

“Oh, gosh. She’s still alive” one said relieved. My vision finally cleared and there were few animal police and people. I got lifted out of the car and I automatically laid on the policeman’s shoulder, still tired. 

“Where’s mom and dad?” I asked, pulling my head up and looking at Tenko’s house. “Why are we leaving? My parents are still inside!”
