A loud crash rang throughout the entire workshop as another automaton fell. Emily quickly smashed another awl to bits before sliding the shank into the rifle. “How close are we to finding the wings” Emily asked and she aimed another shot toward an advancing automaton. “I’m close to running out of ammo”
A large horse speed toward them, it neighed before lowering its head for a head-butt but Spencer threw his axe and it lodged itself in the head of the horse making it stumble and fall. “Quick before we get swarmed again” Emily ordered and the group ran forward.
“I have to get their core though, their energy stones can Rank-Up my beasts” Abigail said but the group ignored her and went forward deeper and deeper into the workshop.
At first the automatons only came one at a time, but the further they went from the entrance the weirder and numerical the automatons kept attacking. First it was just soldiers, now there were automatons based on animals and large amounts of them attacked at once.
Joshua was panting. As a mortal he couldn’t be harmed by the monsters but that didn’t stop him from going out of his way to defeat the monsters. As for the rest of the team since they came from God’s dimension some special aura was allowing for them to be harmed by the automatons.
Jack’s vision blurred as he repelled another automaton that had snuck up behind the group. “Losing energy and conscious fast.” Jack cried out and he stumbled. A small monkey automaton flew through the air screeching at the top of its lungs. Time seemed to slow, the monkey opened its mouth slowly, the razor sharp teeth extending outward ready to puncture Jack. Abigail seemed extend a hand, her mouth opening to scream. Spencer had his axe raised blocking another automaton from mauling the group and Emily was stuck in the middle of reloading.

Jack was half conscious when the monkey landed on him. The mouth looming down to take a bite out of the neck when suddenly it was pushed away. Joshua had used his axe and knocked away the monkey and he barreled from the group into the midst of the automatons. Most of which surrounded him with tables and other materials so that he couldn’t interfere.
“GO…. Go” Joshua screamed and his noise was blocked out by the tide of automatons. “Abigail carry him, we have to go now” Emily said and she abandoned her rifle, taking the awls she had left she kept throwing them and using them as knives.
The group pushed forward, Jack sending out minor pushes to deter the automatons. Abigail was having her beasts block blows when they could but they were getting tattered from the constant damage upon them. Emily who hadn’t focused on close combat abilities was out of breath before she could even do much. Spencer was panting and gasping for air. The axe in his hand was visibly slower. His steps more uneven. His entire frame seemed to be pulsing with sweat.
The clearest minded of the group became Abigail, she desperately scanned the area for a way out and she saw a door, the only one in the room. “Quick guys to the door.”
They rushed over to the door, dispatching automatons in the way and then they attempted to slam the door behind them but a surge of automatons hit the door. Push against push. The four weary people vs a wave and tide of machines and beasts. “We can’t hold them for long” Abigail spluttered, Jack was already unconscious, his bodyweight the only reason why the door wasn’t opened yet. Emily was blinded by her sweat just kept pushing harder.
“It was nice knowing you guys” Spencer whispered, audible only to the wind before he charged forward with a raging battle cry, out the door his axe swinging into the tide of automatons, pushing them back just for a moment. It was only a moment. But the automatons stopped pushing on the door and it closed shut tightly with Abigail and Emily locking it.
