Chapter 1: The beginning of a Journey

"Heros of this era, I, Garett the Guide, welcome you to the world named  'The Harbor of Hatred'."

Those were the first words I heard upon awaking. As I opened my eyes, lots of vivid and beautiful colors were seen. I also saw the source of the voice that spoke to me. It was a young man with short light-brown hair, wide black eyes, a gray shirt and blue jeans.

"Woah, what's going on here?" Said a female voice coming from my right. She had long pink hair, clear blue eyes, dressed in a beautiful black dress.

"Who are you all? And who am I? And where are we? I'm so confused."

"Ri~ght, so what are we doing? Didn't you say you were a guide or something?" Said the beautiful girl.

"Well, some say there is a person who will tell the heros how to survive in this dangerous land. Oh wait! Yes, that is me." He smiled innocently.

"So if you're helping us, do you know who we are by any chance?" I asked.

"I have no idea who you are but we can find out in a matter of seconds! Just say: 'Character information', and it should be there.

""Character information"" We said at the same time. A screen popped up before me.

"So my name is Marcus. What's yours?" I asked, looking at the girl.

"It seems my name is Lilia." She said with a bright smile.

"So~, what are we doing now?" Lilia asked.

"Well, you should first gather materials, such as wood and stone so you can build a house. It is necessary because at night there will be hungry monsters that are going to try to eat you. With your current equipment you will not be a match for those." Said Garett.

"And how are we going to cut down  trees? With our hands?" (Lilia)

"Just think of 'Inventory' and there should be various tools that you can put into a small hotbar, with which you can equip that stuff easier." (Garett)

"Alright, I now have a shortsword, an axe and a pickaxe out of copper." I said while putting the tools in my hotbar.

"Me too, is it good?" She asked, looking at Garett.

"Unfortunately it's the worst of the metals in this world."

We both nodded and equipped our axes. They appeared in our hands out of nowhere. It was a simple axe probably around 80 cm (2'7).

'Thud'

A message appeared at the side of my sight as I suddenly laid on the ground with something heavy lying on top of me.

As I look up I see a blue slime. It suddenly jumped at Garett who in turn shot two arrows at it, succesfully killing it.

"What was that?" Lilia asked.

"That was a blue slime. There are many different variants of slimes. They are one of the more inferior races, but they have powerful monsters ruling over them." Garett explained.

"Well, let's start collecting wood for now before it gets dark." (Marcus)

"Okay!" (Lilia)

_________

"Alright we now have wood. Can we do something else than building with it?" I asked curiously.

"Yes, just think: 'Inventory crafting' and there you will see the recipes for the things you can craft with your current materials and crafting stations. I recommend crafting a workbench. Just think: 'Craft workbench'."

When I did, another notification appeared at the side of my field of vision.

'Aquired/Crafted "Wooden workbench"'

As I put the workbench in my hotbar and try to place it in front me, a 1.5 meter long (4'11) wooden workbench appears.

I now think of crafting something again and there were now several other recipes, such as 'Wooden bow' or 'Wooden hammer'.

I think of crafting the hammer and it appears in my hand.

"Nice. Now we just need to build a house and were done."

___________

When the sun set, we were finished with our houses.  There were just basic wooden houses, each had a workbench with with a table and a few chairs in them.

Now we just needed to wait until the morning came."
