Chapter 1: School ends
<> <> <> <> <>
The bell rang. Everybody stormed out of the classroom, being unable to wait for the end.
“Which, is of course funny since they waited until it rang. A contradiction.“
Last student to come out quietly chuckled, as she thought about it.
That person was 1.72 meters tall, with waist-long ruby hair bond together into a ponytail. She had pretty face with medium-length nose, small lips and blue eyes that seemed to notice everything with their sharp gaze.
She was wearing a loose, white T-shirt with an imposing angel with a drawn sword on the right and 'Ascension' written with the black letters on the left side of it. On her back were similar angels, who were crossing their blades, as if in a fierce battle. On the background there were some shield-like markings, kept in a grey-blue colour theme. The same as angels.
She was also wearing tight jeans which were widening at the ankles, along with black trainers and a black laptop bag.
That person was Evelyn. She was seen as a beautiful, gentle and very smart girl. Liked by everybody. But that was merely an illusion.
Behind her back she was called a bitch.
Of course, she knew about that. And she knew the reason why.
* * *
She was an orphan. Her parents were killed in a tragic accident, when drunk and tired lorry driver crashed into their parents' car as they were going for family vacation. She was 13 back then.
When fire fighters arrived at the crash site and rescued her, they were amazed. She was miraculously unharmed, counting out numerous bruises and cuts which covered her. However she had nothing broken or sprained.
The same couldn't be said about her parents, or her state of mind.
She was hurt mentally for the rest of her life, being a witness to the death of people closest to her. The first month was the hardest. The regret about not doing anything before the crash, or rather: not being able to do anything to prevent that, was too much for her.
She raged over the unfairness of the world, where innocent people died thanks to mistakes of others. She grieved about her parents' meaningless death. She grieved for herself, now alone. An orphan.
She was an orphan.
The realization hit her. And it broke her down. She spent days crying in the orphanage, the place she was sent to after the incident. This made her peers to view her as a weak, spoiled girl. Actually she was. Before the accident, that is.
The wide reluctance she was treated with turned her into a sharp woman over years that passed. She had no more illusions of the world around her.
There were only fools, bastards and rich people out there.
That was the world she saw. And she would never let her become one of the fools. Bastards were not an option as well, seeing as she despised them. That's how she felt about her fellow peers in the orphanage.
Anyway, the only option left for her was to be rich.
However she had one of the harshest starts there is. An orphan? She has no one to back her up. Her family forgot about her. And she did forget them in turn.
- 'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth' – is what she used to think whenever she remembered them. Right, it wasn't the kind of oblivion where she would forget their faces and what they've done to her. She would instead never, ever, lend her hand to them. Being a cold-hearted was for the best.
- 'They would only take advantage of me. Or rather, try to' – was yet another thought about them.
Of course, she kept her tabs on them. To that, she simply used a social everybody was so fond of – facebook. It was very easy, as she never let their names go. Of course, after a year passed since the accident, they were mentioning something about providing help for her. It was inevitable.
But she never accepted any of those offers. She knew that if they really wanted to help her, they would – when she was going through her hardest. Instead, she sensed that they wanted her to owe her.
Being her, she knew that to be rich she had to study hard and get a good job. To that, she filled her time with study, going as far as being a year ahead of her classmates. As an addition she spent her 'free time' on researching every brand of university studies, having a hard time deciding where to go.
Finally she decided to go to a medical university. Health is never taken lightly, and the pay is good. With that in mind she focused her studies solely on subjects necessary for getting into a Medical University in Warsaw.
After getting there, she would get money for her marks. Barely enough to live, but enough.
At least that's what she thought, as she prepared for her final exam since 1st year of high school.
During the winter she also decided to learn some kind of martial art to defend herself in the foreign city. After a week of researching, she decided on Muay-Thai, as it's said to be the most vicious and effective fighting style.
Luckily there was a dojo nearby. Also, the people who took care of children at the orphanage, after days of pleading, allowed her to pick up the art. Their reluctance towards that decision was based on the increase of allowance given to her, which they judged to be 'too much for a quiet girl like her'.
However in the end they gave in to the constant harass from Evelyn's side, as she provided meaningful arguments on top of the non-stop bothering. Yeah, the caretakers were lazy. Very lazy.
But that didn't matter to her, as she was happy to be able to go and learn something to help her survive. She was 16 by the time.
Years passed, as she continued to study with medical studies in mind, as well as learn Muay-Thai. She had very well trained body, which caught many sights of male students. After which they usually got hit by their girlfriends. Nevertheless, she never had any boyfriend.
For her it was unnecessary, as she was going to be self-sufficient for the nearing years at the university.
Finally she reached 18th birthday. And with the same day she was told to leave the orphanage, as she was an adult, and the facility is only for children. Fortunately, given that she was overall well-behaved, she was given a week to find herself a home to rent. Without allowance.
That day she cursed what the world was standing on, as it was simply unfair. However she vowed to herself to never give in. Never again. She will stay strong, so that she wouldn't let another tragedy like the one five years ago.
However the money was still a problem. Not willing to stop learning martial art, she knew that a part-time job would not grant her enough money for both things. She did consider leaving the gym, however she had a hunch she would very much need it later. And she wasn't the person to ignore such a feeling.
In the end, without other alternatives she became a prostitute.
It wasn't easy for her. Not at all. At first she was disgusted with herself. As the time passed, she persuaded herself that it was a necessity to survive. With that, she could live on.
Of course, she was very-well desired by men using such services. She quickly became a local celebrity, with her godly looks, further polished by the martial-art training.
After a month she had a stable timetable for day:
- Get up
- Do morning exercise
- Eat a breakfast
- Go to school
- Do homework
- Come back
- Eat a dinner
- Go to the gym
- Come back
- Take a shower
- Go out to look for a client
- Spend time with him
- Kick him out
- Take a shower
- Study
- Sleep
She did her homework at school, where she was sometimes called a genius. Truth to be told, she was good with everything she started. Someone would call her master of all trades. However nobody would ever bother to ask her how much time she invested into self-study.
At school, she was doing two or three topics on one lesson. At first teachers were amazed by her ability, but got used to it with time. There were no complaints, as she was getting full marks on every test. She had a peaceful school life.
But such things never last, especially with her choice of work.
Sure, it was very well paid. However once found out, she had to deal with constant harassments. From both male and female students.
Boys started to see her as a sex toy. Some, who had their control centre shifted from brain to balls and got too cocky, were quickly dealt with. Of course using Muay-Thai techniques she learned at the dojo.
It was basically beating them to the point of fainting, then taking their pants off and leaving out in the open. Victims were always angry, but they usually kept their distance. Some who didn't have enough brains just got treated the same way.
Girls however choose more refined choice of harassment. Like making photos of her and putting them up on the internet. All because of simple jealously. They saw her as an arrogant goddess, who enjoyed the attention given to her by male students. Add to that her marks, as well as parents constantly comparing you to said goddess, and you have the object of hatred for your every mistake.
As such, the remaining year was very hard for Evelyn. Even teachers were showing their disgust through their gazes or the way they talked to, or about, her.
* * *
Coming back to the present, Evelyn was eagerly awaiting the end of school.
- 'Finally some time to sleep until I'm rested...' - she thought, as she was riding the bus home. - 'Lately I was so busy with repeating everything for the finals that god damn me if I had more then 3 hours of sleep. I wish I could just drop on the bed...
...
Mmm...' - she started dreaming about sleep that she was falling over. However before she hit the floor, she was caught by someone.
- Ahh, thank you. Sorry for the trouble... - she apologized, turning to the person who caught her.
- Don't worry, it's a pleasure to help such a lady – the man said before she turned completely. However she immediately recognized him.
It was Mike, her latest client. There was no way she would forget his voice, his touch. The memory was still too... fresh for her.
- I had no idea you were going to school – he whispered her into ear. - You know, I could pick you up and take you to your place. The public transport is dangerous, you know. And we'd have some more time for each other... - he finished, not leaving her anything to imagine.
- Thanks, but I'm not working right now. And I still have some things to take care of – she replied in kind, noticing some people were curious about the pair. Or maybe they recognized her? Some clients went as far as using a camera during their private time. Who knows, maybe some of them put it on the net... She shrugged the thought off, knowing that there was nothing she could do now. At least she took more money for it.
- Are you sure? I'm not so poor as to not being able to afford a nice car. And I get lonely, driving alone – the whispering continued.
- In that case why would you use a bus? - she whispered back, having bad thoughts.
- Isn't in obvious? I wanted to meet you little earlier, sweetie – he answered with a sly smile on his face. Meanwhile people started to move away a little.
- In any case you should know the rules – she said, looking outside. The bus arrived at her destination. - Anyway, it's my stop here. Mind letting me through? - she told a little louder to give herself some confidence. The man intrigued her, and she somehow respected him. Just a little though.
The man let her through immediately. However she whispered something to her as she was passing him.
- I have something for you tonight. Consider it as a thanks for your... services.
Evelyn didn't say anything, but the words wouldn't leave her. She continued to think about them as she was walking the usual route to her home. They knew each other for mere two weeks, but him being as secretive as he is, there was one thing she was certain of.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
He would never say anything thoughtlessly.
* * *
Evelyn was coming back from the dojo when she was approached by her neightbour.
- You bitch, I swear that I will report you to the owner and have him kick you out – she said quietly, with narrow eyes.
- What would you want mrs. Smith? Is it about my guests? Or something else? - Evelyn asked back, feigning ignorance.
- Guests! Ha! I've never heard worse joke. Are you happy that you're milking innocent men dry of the money by flashing them your ass? Where's you dignity as a...
- Tell me what happened instead of insulting me please – she cut her, knowing that she wouldn't stop just there there. I was more interested in the new reason for her outburst.
- It's that lover you were bringing in lately! He rang to every house demanding that they let him in, as he has a meeting with you – she said with a triumphant look in her eyes. - But I must say he sure is an eye-candy. That muscular build, along with short, brown hair and a beard... Add to that those wonderful blue eyes..
That's it. She was just jealous. How simple, yet stupid. Evelyn took a moment to remember how mr. Smith looked like. Then she nodded, as the pieces fit matched nicely now. However Mike's move got her worried a little. There was no such an incident before. Everybody abode by the rules. But she realized that it was foolish to think that it would last forever. She sighed, as her mind was busy thinking about solution to the problem...
- So, what are you going to say, you slut? Of course everybody knew that you're one, but... - she continued saying, probably expecting some reaction. And Evelyn did react. Too bad that it wasn't the way mrs. Smith imagined she would.
In a glance Evelyn hit mrs. Smith. Immediately after the strike connected Evelyn regained some sense, but was still pretty angry. But if anything, she didn't regret it.
The strength built up during the years of training wasn't something to laugh at. The not-so-young-now woman fell over under the force of the strike. The passers-by stood in place, their mouths open. They wouldn't even dare to imagine such a beauty turning into a violent 'beast'.
But if Evelyn cared about what people thought of her, she wouldn't be able to leave my home by now. Still angry, she knelt near the fallen woman as she was trying to get up and whispered to her ear.
- That was for calling me a slut every time you see me. You have no damn idea how hard it is for me to set things straight. But you wouldn't ever give a damn, feigning that you're holy because you would never turn that way. You know, I see you as something worse then even those drunkards and beggars on the streets. They have more humanity left in them. And what a slut you secretly are... - Evelyn let the words reach the shocked woman, before continuing. - And don't worry. I'll make sure that man won't bother you again... And let me assure you that my other 'guests' won't as well – Evelyn finished, getting up. The only reply received got from mrs. Smith was silence, as she followed the girl wide-eyed while lying on the pavement, too shocked to get up.
There was quite a crowd gathered at the scene by the time Evelyn was finished with what she had to say. Everybody watched her as she was getting closer to the wall of people. Some were so afraid of her that they hurried to let her through so much that they knocked over some unfortunate neighbours.
Evelyn looked at them with raised eyebrow as she passed them, but didn't bother to stop. She had much more important thing to do then wasting her time on some stupid mob, too scared to eventually help the woman if she was in danger.
- 'If it isn't in their interest, those bastards will never help other person. Even more if there is real danger...' - as she walked, Evelyn had thoughts of this kind.
…
…
…
Finally she arrived at the block her flat was located in. She didn't hesitate as she entered the password. As soon as the sound signaling the lock opening was heard, she rushed inside. Her footsteps echoed through the stairway, as she looked up and saw a familiar face.
Evelyn narrowed her eyes as she saw the man smile at her, and quickened her pace. By now she was passing two steps at once. In a second she stood face to face with the person responsible for her bad mood.
- What do you think you're fucking doing Mike, huh? - she asked before he had chance to say anything. She quickly got to the door pushing the man aside. Nobody would want to have an argument on the staircase, where everything would be heard. By everyone.
- As I said, I have a gift for you – he answered the question while she was dealing with the last lock. The sound of it opening was heard and she entered her home. Mike followed her, closing the doors behind him.
Inside Evelyn didn't immediately start questioning him. Instead, she started to boil the water and prepared two glasses. Then she went to her room for a change of clothes, and finally headed to the bathroom.
- When the water's ready, make a tea all right? Let's straight some things after I take a shower – she told him as she passed him, not giving him a glance.
- Yeah, yeah. Whatever, honey – he replied.
Evelyn gave him annoyed look, as she closed the door to the bathroom.
…
…
…
- So, what's so important as you'd break the rule? - she asked, refreshed after the shower, while taking a sip of the tea and sitting comfortably in the guest room.
Mike, who was sitting in front of her, only smiled as he took a sip as well. - Everything in due time, love. First, I'd like you to keep me company for the rest of the day.
- End the small talk – she told, trying to seem annoyed. She was actually really interested in the reason as for why he ignored the rules he promised to keep.
- I told you, there is time for everything – was the only answer she got.
However before she could tell anything he took out two tickets out of his pocket.
- Don't worry, I have everything planned for today. But please – he said, not letting her have a chance to speak – don't try to make me spoil the fun.
…
…
…
A few hours later, they were at Evelyn's block. As they were heading towards the staircase, they were approached by a man in blue uniform. In the dim light Evelyn recognized him as the deliveryman. She had no idea what would he want of her, but then the promise of a gift from Mike came to her mind. And that was bull's eye.
- Mr. Williams? - the man asked Mike.
- That's me. Right on time, great job.
- Right, your signature, please – said the blue collar, taking out the paper with a half-filled table and pointing where Mike should sign with a pen. The man in question quickly filled the required cell and returned the pen, with worker slightly bowing, as he turned around and picked up the black box.
- That would be 3 450 PLN – said the deliveryman, handing over the box. Evelyn stood there shocked by the amount to pay.
- 'Isn't it going well over the top now?' - she thought. Mike on the other hand didn't bat an eye and handed thick pile of 35 100 PLN banknotes. - Take the rest as a tip for your timing – he said with a smile, as he held the box.
- Thanks – said the deliveryman, as he turned around and disappeared into the dark. Right now there was a silence between us, as we were looking at each other.
- Is this what I think it is? - Evelyn asked, finally breaking the silence. To that Mike only smiled and gestured with his head to head towards the staircase's entrance. Knowing that he will explain everything once inside, woman led the way.
Once they were inside, with coats hung at the hanger, she finally took closer look at the box.
It was quite catchy, as it was covered in ancient-looking graphics imprinted all over the box. And the lid was decorated with a map of some kind. On top of it were some letters, which said...
- Asgaroth Online. First and the last VRMMORPG set in the fantasy world – said Mike, placing the box onto a bed table. - I believe you have heard of it? - he asked honestly, and to Evelyn he seemed excited.
- Yeah, when it came out last year everybody in my class were head over heels talking about it – she said, sighing at the memory. - Is it really as good as they say it is?
- Even better – said Mike with a smile on his face. - It's another world baby! Another world! Filled with magic, monsters and dungeons! - right now he seemed like a child, who got his toy for Christmas. It was an honest surprise for Evelyn, as until now he was all collected when around her.
- Sounds good – she said, – but sadly I won't be able to try it immediately. I have finals in a week, and I'd rather focus on them then on some game.
- Hey, it's not just another game!
- Yeah, yeah. Whatever – she said, mimicking him.
Mike was thrown off for a moment, but then laughed as he remembered that he said the same words earlier today. - 'Man, she really can hold a grudge' – he thought, still laughing. - You know, you hurt me by saying that you won't try it.
- I didn't say that I won't. I said that I will put it away until I'm done with my exams. There's the difference – said Evelyn, crossing her arms. - And while we're at it, I'll be cutting myself off from work for the time being. I want to focus solely on my studies.
- So you can't wait for the more pleasant part of our meetings? - Mike asked, still in good humour.
- No, I advice you to better use the time you have bought – she said, pointing at the box – with that damn expensive thing.
Mike's jaw dropped slightly at the straightforward denial. - You know, you could at least read the mood... - he said, feigning being hurt with his head down. But Evelyn noticed his smirk, and knew that he was having fun. She also noticed that he was already excited. - 'At least his body is honest with me... ' - she noticed with satisfaction.
- Sorry that I can't read the mood – she said, getting closer. - But I know how to make one...
- Mind telling me how?
- I won't tell.
- ...? - Mike didn't say anything, instead rising his eyebrow with a little smile.
- I'd much rather show you... - she said, pushing him onto the bed. He didn't resist, pulling her with himself instead. They locked lips for a while, when Evelyn broke the silence - Wait a moment, I'll turn off the lights... - she let the words hang in the air as her hand glided from Mike's face down, up to the hips. She felt little satisfaction as her hand caught a little twitch in the pants or the man.
She got up, turned the lights off. And laid at the top of the man, who suddenly turned them over such he was on the top now.
- Don't think that you'll be doing what you want every time, sweetie – he said, biting her ear lightly.
To that Evelyn laughed. Next words which left her lips were those of a challenge.
- We shall see whether the night prefers a king or a queen as her ruler – she said, biting his lower lip as an answer.
And so the mortal dance begun, with gasps and moans as it's music.

All right, here's my new work. :-)
I'd like you to point out when the dialogues are messy, as well as - numerous, as I believe - grammar mistakes.
My goal is to make this FanFic into the nr 1 on the site. Which is why I will need your help by giving my ideas for MC's adventures. Literally anything that comes to your mind, feel free to post a comment. Killing a giant ogre? Or maybe being caught in a trap by some slavers? I'd really like you to 'voice' your ideas and opinions.
Thanks!
