Zander puffed out a gust of wind that blew back Auron's hair and made him squint his eyes. [We are always okay. I was just worried and surprised you were even able to do that. Do you mind telling me how a level 2 person was able to create their own magical ability?] He sent over as he hopped into Auron's hand. *Bing*
Congratulations, you are now level three. Ten stat points awarded.
Auron looked around for loot but was disappointed to see only one of the goblins dropped a blank gemstone. He was pleased to see the dagger he took was not fading like the bodies.
-Forced drop. Goblin dagger -Blank gemstone
Taking stock, he placed both items into his ring.
"I think you mean a respectable level three now, Zander." Auron winked at his familiar, who stared at him, most likely contemplating whether or not to toss him into the wall one more time. Auron stretched and smiled to himself. "My lateral thinking attribute keeps allowing me to do combinations, just like with my onyx bone rod. I don't have any answers, but I do have a bunch of stat points to set." As he spoke, he walked them over to one of the stone buildings.
[You are quite the anomaly, Auron. Generally, that attribute would take years of studious behavior. Though I suppose that would make sense.]
Auron knew it would be a waste of time to ask a followup question. So he continued forward.
As he placed the gemstone and his dagger in the ring with a thought, he practiced bringing out the blade a few times to get used to it. With a mental command, it would appear from the ring into his hands.
As he walked over, a rumble shook the ground. The wisps all froze in place, no longer floating about the room lazily. Another thunderous eruption, this time much closer, rocked the ground so hard Auron fell backward.
Pushing himself to his feet, he jogged over to the building.
"Zander, can you keep Whatever that is away from me for a while?" He set him down at the doorway and walked Inside. "I am going to allocate these points, and I have some ideas I want to try with these empty gemstones. I feel I am going to need a power-up to face whatever is making those shockwaves."
[Take your time. Nothing in here can even touch me.] Zander quipped over their link.
Auron quickly sat down and pulled up his stat screen.

After thinking for a few minutes, slightly distracted by the loud crashing noises that sounded closer each time, Auron decided what he wanted to do with his points. After using them all, he took one more glance at his stats.
Spiritual stats:

Wisdom: 20 mana point per min
Adding to his health amount and regeneration rate was a must. The hard part was deciding to add to his wisdom rather than his mana pool. He put mana at the top of the list for the next round of stat points. As for his next category of stats, Auron decided to put them into his strength and durability. He hoped the two would make him less fragile. Seeing that he already got a boost to precision and accuracy from his class, the move made sense to him.
Satisfied with the changes, he quickly summoned the empty gemstones and his Onyx bone rod from his ring inventory.
As he picked up the rod, a deafening smash sounded at the doorway leading to the lower floor. Rocks flew away from the door in every direction, smashed through by a gigantic hammer. At the other end of the weapon, stood a ten-foot-tall monstrosity of red skin with black spots. The color pattern glowed with mana, and it was stretched over muscles so large it was a wonder the skin held together. It took an earth-shattering step into the cavern and let out a roar so loud the air around it vibrated. Terrified Auron peaked out at it.
"Zander, it looks like that is the big baddy. Can you keep it busy for a little while?" Auron bellowed, trying to get the words through despite the noisy monster.
Zander whipped his tail down, and a tiny tornado formed. Riding the wind, Zander soared through the air, casually matching the height of the creature. [I think I will manage.] He sent sarcastically over their link.
Auron watched in amazement as Zander approached the creature and blasted it back through the smashed open doorway. A roar resounding through back through was all he needed to hear to know the beast was far from finished.
Rushing back to his task Auron grabbed the rod and attempted to concentrate wind magic into it. Holding one of the empty stones in his opposite hands, he tested his theory. Having
Zander's magic fresh in his mind must have helped because he had no trouble summoning the mana to his hand or transferring it to the rod.
Unfortunately, he seemed to hit a wall when it came to the next step. Looking inward, he was surprised to feel some changes in how he perceived his internal magic.
He noted eight different spots in his body that collected various types of mana; each of the internal containers of mana seemed to be paired with another. Green connected to Zander was grouped with Blue, which he could recognize due to his new gemstone. Another location was also easy to identify because they were related to his stealth skill and the feeling he got when he used his inspect skill. Those were purple and red, respectively. There were four other spheres of power he could not place. The only different colors Auron knew of so far were Black, and Yellow.
"This must be because of my blue gemstone." He mumbled. Pushing harder, he could feel the air around him flowing toward what he could recognize as his red source, which then mingled with his blue gemstone. "That seems fine, and my magic isn't the problem. What is holding me up?" He shouted, frustrated each noise from the battle around him increased his anxiety. He then realized the block was coming from the purple location.
After a few tense moments of concentrating the magic in that area, he accidentally pushed from the bluestone in his hand toward the purple location in his chest. A multicolored bridge seemed to form between the two, increasing the power of their connection after what felt like hours of this mana seemed to flow from him, into the rod, and then into the stone.

Before he had time to read more the roof of the stone shack, he was working in ripped off. He jumped out just before the walls followed the same path as the roof. After rolling from his leap, he raised his eyes to see the debris flying toward the Ogres hammer. The hammer was shining with black and red waves of energy matching the monster's skin. Reminiscent of some sort of black hole, the stone building parts slammed into the hammer, and with a great effort, the ogre slammed the hammed down in an attempt to smash Zander. The steel mallet now multiplied drastically in size and weight, from its collected stone attachments, obliterated the floor, and sent rocks careening off all over the room.
Blasted back into the wall, Auron sat up as quickly as he could. His nose was bleeding because of a stray rock, and his back sore from the impact. He looked over to see Zander recovering in the same manner on the opposite side of a crater left by the ogre's attack.
[If you had a plan, now is the time to use it! I have wasted too much mana killing time. I am not sure if I have enough to kill it without needing to recover in your tattoo. We do not know how many of these there are.]
Auron pulled the goblin dagger to his hand from his ring and put everything except his new creation away. Holding it in his left hand, he read the description.
-Wind grenade. Wind magic collected into a gemstone. Break to activate and deal 300 damage to a wide area.
"Zander, get back! I will take care of this. Auron shouts as he runs back behind one of the further huts and raises his arm to throw. "Let's see how my upgraded strength is," He said to Zander. A vague memory of being too weak to play some sort of sport flitted through his mind, but he could not seem to remember what game or why he couldn't play. Putting everything he could into his throw, he let the grenade fly at the giant monster. Whistling through the air, he impressed himself with the amount of force he was able to generate with this toss.
Auron jumped behind the hut he ran to and covered his head and curled into a ball.
----------------------------------------
The grenade plunks into the thick hide of the ogre, and harmlessly falls to the ground. The ogre, in its limited intelligence, had braced for an impact. It had seen the little pale creature throw and hide, so it was assuming a big attack was coming. Looking down at the shiny stone and seeing no damage at all, the creature was endlessly amused. Of course, the tiny snacks could not hurt it. Its laughter echoed through the cavern, and it unintentionally sucked in several of the wisps. The wisps sent a warm feeling flowing through the massive beast. The laughter continued unabashed. It was used to sucking in the beings by now having accidentally eaten several of them before.
----------------------------------------
Auron was surprised by two things. The first was the lack of an action movie-style boom, and the second was the thick choking sound coming from the creature.
"Burhurhur burhurur" The creature continued to laugh. "Stoopid think hurt me" It garbled out actual words. Shocked that it could speak, Auron began to crawl out and attempt to communicate.
"I crush toy," The Ogre said before raising his hammer.
"Oh shit, wait!" The creature ignored Auron's shouts as it brought its hammer down onto the green stone.
He dove back into his hiding position as it hits the stone. The ogre, his hammer, and the surrounding 5 meters wholly consumed by a torrent of wind Auron would never have expected or imagined.
The shack he was hiding behind folded like a stack of cards. As the heavy stone slats came down, they pinned Auron's legs and torso back into the wall. Stunned, all he could do was weakly call out for Zander.
