"Aptitude test?"
Steve was surprised, then confused, how come his mother never mentioned this test to him before?
"What's an Aptitude test?"
"It's a test where they see if you have affinity over an element, and how much your affinity is."
"Oh, What's your affinity mother?"
"The very thing we step on, Earth."
"Are there people with two affinities?"
"There are, but that kind of talent only shows once every 1000 years."
"What about-"
"And with three affinities only shows up once every 100,000 years."
"And-"
"And with four affinities once every 10,000,000 years."
"Okay mother, i get it."
"Heh, maybe my son has that kind of talent."
The two laughed and bonded over Steve having a slim chance of having that talent. but Steve was thinking that he may actually have it.
'I mean, it's the least he could do, setting up my new life with dice roll.'
So as the sun set into the horizon, Steve ate his somewhat fancy dinner, went to his room, and fell asleep.
The next day was bright and sunny day, like any other day, but today was different, it was Steve's Aptitude test today. he was nervous but it didn't show, because his overwhelming excitement took over. he was acting like a child after a long and miserable life he had.
Steve's mother went with him, and all other kids at age 5 went with a parent. they reached a building somewhat similar to the coliseum but much smaller. all of slowly walked inside, to see a circular platform, with a an orb on a stand in the middle. and a man wearing noble like attire was next to the orb.
"Welcome Ladies and gentleman, to your child's aptitude test."
"As you may all know once your child has their aptitudes taken, they can use magic, but it's your responsibility if you want your child to cultivate magic, or pick another profession for the child."
As the test commenced, The first child was a blonde boy, his face was rough, and clothes were somewhat dirty. but surprisingly the the man treated him like any other child, not as a peasant.
"Place your hand on the orb."
As the child place his hand on the orb blue light shined brightly. then stopped 3 seconds later.
"Water element, B-grade affinity, Congratulations."
As the blonde boy walked down the platform smiling happily, Steve was in confusion.
'B-grade? is the how they rank affinity?'
Nonetheless the next child stepped up, and then another child, and so on. the highest affinity was B-grade from the blonde boy, all other child had C-grade or lower. but then a surprising child cam up.
'Lisa?'
Lisa walked up to the platform, but Steve saw a small amount of tears in Lisa's eyes. Why Steve thought, and then realized he had forgotten his promise to to her.
'Fuck.'
Lisa stepped up to the platform, wiping any tears left in here eyes. then place her hand on to the orb. then a bright red and brown color shined, alternating in intervals. it glowed bright, almost to the point of blinding, but stopped after 3 seconds.
"A-a two elemental!"
Everyone that witnessed it was in awe, a two elemental came out after generations, and one finally came out.
"Fire and Earth Element, A-Grade Affinity!"
Everyone cheered and clapped, while Lisa was in confusion.
"What's going on Papa?"
"Nothing Sweetheart, Nothing! you just made papa very happy today."
"If papa is happy, then i'm happy!"
A cute and happy scene came out, a daughter and father embarrassing out of happiness.
After all the commotion died down a bit, it was the Finally Steve's turn. As he walked up to the Stage, he placed his hand on the orb and it flickered a green for a split second and the orb stopped glowing. Steve was in utter confusion, then the man said something.
"Wind Element, E-Grade Affinity."
Steve was shocked, he couldn't believe it. he checked his status.

But after the announcement, Steve's mother seemed disappointed. but she still gave Steve a bitter Smile.
"It's okay son, At least you still have swordsmanship."
Then suddenly someone called out a name.
"STEVE!"
Lisa was dashing to Steve as if it was her own father. Steve was knocked down by Lisa.
"Why didn't you come back!?"
"Eh? i- um- ah-"
"What!?"
"I- uh- forgot."
Then Lisa's face seemed to tear up, in child a like way.
"Steve, Who's this?"
"She's ah.. a new friend."
"I didn't know you knew little miss two elemental."
"Steve saved my daughter from a couple of men trying to steal my sword."
Suddenly Lisa's father walked up, with a happy face.

"Steve, you better come back tomorrow!"

It all seemed like Steve finally found happiness in his life, a happy family, and a new friend. it seemed like nothing could go wrong.
After going back home, Steve asked his mother a question.
"Mother, how do you even use magic?"
"By feeling the magic around you, and chant a spell."
"Can you give me a spell mother?"
"We don't really have any Wind elemental spells right now, but we'll get some first thing tomorrow."
"..."
"How do you feel magic?"
"By imaging a stream flowing through you."
"..."
"Enough Magic talk, go outside and play."
"Okay mother."
Steve went outside, it was the middle of the afternoon.
'I want to try it now!'
Steve was impatient, and wanted to use magic now.
'What did Mother say again?'
Steve Imagined a stream flowing through him, then he felt a tingling sensation on his finger tips.
'What... is this?'
Steve had an idea, imagining the form of the spell he wants. he tried it. he imagined a blade of wind coming out from his fingers. then suddenly.
*Woossshhh*
A blade of wind came out and hit a nearby rock, it chipped it.
'I thought it would be more powerful.'
Then suddenly.

a Blade of wind
Steve was confused, the skill had no LVL, no mana consumption, and no cooldown. then suddenly, something clicked.
'What if, there's no Concept of LVL in this world. and i'm the only one who has it.'
Steve decided on that conclusion. only he has the LVL system in this world. but he quickly dismissed it, because he was still in confusion with the power of the wind blade.
'I imagined it it would slice through the rock.'
Then something clicked.
The mana Flow. having only a stream of mana flowing is to little mana supplied to the spell. Steve imagined then an ocean, an ocean of mana flowing through him. suddenly his head started to become dizzy, but was gone after a few seconds. he then felt tingling sensation throughout his body.
"[Wind Blade]!"
*Wooosshhh!!*
A loud burst of wind came out of Steve's finger tips. he was knocked down by the amount of wind generated by his finger tips. the blade sped to the rock and sliced the rock in half, while also slicing through a bunch trees, then finally dissipating.
Steve was in awe, it was powerful, a 21 year old shouldn't have this kind of power, let alone a 5 year old. then suddenly.
