----------------------------------------
1. Hello! To summarize about myself, this is my first novel and although I am really putting a lot of effort into it, I hope for a bit of understanding. My native language is Spanish, so I use external means to translate my work into English. Any constructive criticism that you think could help improve the novel is welcome, although please keep in mind that sometimes it's just a matter of personal tastes or preferences.
2. Worm
If you have no idea what the story of Worm is about, maybe this will reassure you a bit. Worm is set in a world of superheroes with a rather dark theme, I personally haven't read the original story, but I have read a huge number of fanfics and done my own research on the canon for this story. The story and the world are fantastic, I hope to have time to see it. I recommend it to others. For this story, you actually don't need to have read
2.1. Taylor Hebert (MC)
IMPORTANT: What you need to know about the protagonist, Taylor Hebert, is that she is just a teenager (Age: 15/16)living in Brockton Bay, one of the cities with the most villains and superheroes per capita. Her last few years have been miserable since her mother, Annette Hebert, died in a car accident. Her father collapsed from the loss, devoting his entire existence to his work to the point of neglecting his daughter. Her best friend, Emma Barnes, betrayed her apparently without reason and started bullying her along with two new friends and other students at school. Taylor has been trampled on for years every time she tries to stand up, and her trust in authority is non-existent since the teachers ignore any abuse she receives (she goes to the worst school in a city practically governed by gangs). The torment from her former best friend reaches the point where it awakens her powers, and that's where her story begins. I won't say much since it's not really relevant to my story, but it's important to note that Taylor Hebert is a person with the power to control insects in a world where there are people capable of erasing entire cities, moving at the speed of light, being indestructible, practically seeing the future, and a long etcetera of powers much more incredible than hers. Yet, with sheer tenacity and ingenuity, she becomes one of the most important people in the world... basically, she's like Guts from Berserk but female.
2.1.1 Taylor Hebert's parahuman powers: it's important to note that, unlike many other parahuman powers that remain static, Taylor's powers can grow not through training, but through conflict for a small but permanent improvement, or an explosive but temporary improvement when she is in situations similar to her triggering event or in conflicts (this "second" aspect I believe is common in all parahumans),Also, although training does not increase powers, training and practice can enhance a parahuman's strength by improving their control over their power and its various applicable uses.
* Control: Taylor has absolute control over anything she classifies as a bug, to the point that she can make them break the natural limits that prevent living beings from harming their own bodies or even make them commit suicide. Due to her circumstances in this novel, what counts as a "bug" is entirely up to her mindset.
Multitasking: Taylor has an almost unlimited ability to focus on multiple insects at once, or to focus on other things while also using her insects. She can issue general instructions, in which case she is only vaguely aware of their movements, or guide individual insects through complex tasks, in which case she is more precisely aware of their movements and surroundings. However, she might get distracted due to the challenge of focusing on the insects' senses.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Emotions: Taylor can channel her emotions into her insects, granting her an indomitable aura of calm. This also serves to prevent any signs of reaction from showing on her body, making it nearly impossible to discern how she feels or reacts to something.
Senses: Initially, perceiving anything through insects is very confusing and "blurry" for Taylor, but with the gradual or temporary growth of her power, this can change (this novel also introduces ways to alter this). Based on the combined sensory information from a large number of insects, Taylor can get a very clear mental image of everything they are interacting with. She can also perceive the biology and location of each insect she can control. This grants her improved accuracy and the ability to dodge attacks with supernatural reaction times. However, in environments where insects are scarce, or when dealing with materials they don't interact well with, her image of the area can become less reliable.
Taylor also gains some knowledge about the biology of her insects thanks to her power, which helps her understand their limits, capabilities, and the effects of any adaptations they have, such as any venom they might possess.
Range: Taylor's base range within which she can control her insects is 2 blocks = 600 feet/182 meters. This range can temporarily increase when Taylor is in conflict or in a trigger event situation, or it can permanently expand through conflicts. Once bugs move out of her range, they revert to their normal behavior but will continue to follow the last orders received while within range.
my intention is for Taylor to combine these powers with the jutsus of the Aburame clan
* 2.2 Worm world/lore
Worm is set in a world of superheroes with a rather dark theme. The most important thing to note is that the world is gradually being destroyed, city by city, by three seemingly invincible monsters (The Endbringers). Meanwhile, an endless "battle/show" between heroes and villains unfolds as everyone scrambles for power. To gain powers, one needs a special organ in the brain (which is actually quite common) and to experience the worst day of their life—no joke. People receive their powers on the worst days of their lives; this event is called a trigger event and it remains as a trauma etched in the mind of anyone who experiences it, at which point they receive their powers.
* medium spoiler relevant to the plot of this fic but not too much
Medium spoiler about the canon series, read at your own risk: At the time of the trigger event, crystalline multi-dimensional parasites the size of planets will connect to the host and grant them powers while also modifying their behavior to varying degrees—from very mild, simply nudging the hosts to use their powers (the most common), to basically rewriting the host's personality (it should be noted that the powers are not magic but rather highly advanced science beyond human understanding).
* Important and somewhat irrelevant spoiler for this series until much later or perhaps never:
Both the monsters that destroy the world and the parasites that grant powers are part of two larger multiversal entities that go to each planet with civilization and all its respective parallel planets. The purpose of the parasites, also called shards because they are separate fragments of the two entities, is to find a way to reverse entropy, which is why they lend their powers to civilizations, promote conflict, learn everything they can, and then destroy them (the reason they lend their powers instead of experimenting themselves is that despite all their intelligence, they are like robots without imagination or creativity) to move on to the next planet. For reasons I'm too lazy to mention, I'll simply say that this cycle has been disrupted and for this reason the shards, despite following the directives/programming imposed on them, are a bit lost not knowing what to do (The shards are separate/individual entities from the two larger entities; they have similar interests since they were programmed that way but are not a single being or hive mind. Instead, they are a network of individuals working for a boss/slave master) I think that's well explained but to really understand everything, it's best to see the canonical story.
* 3 Naruto world AU
The main reason this world is AU is that my intention is to make this world more realistic than the original version, meaning some nerfs for some characters and some buffs for others. The rest of the changes will be the butterfly effects from the MC.
thx for read
