Prologue

Within a busy city, on a construction site where busy men and heavy machinery work, a young man by the name of Quincy Voorhees is currently carrying sacks of cement, 3 on each arms, is walking up the steel stairs in a jog-like pace.

[Head Architect] “Hey Quincy, how many more are there!?”

[Quincy] “Just about 8 more Sir!”

[Head Architect] “Alright! You heard him boys, don’t let a kid do all the work! Quincy, after you’re done with that, you can take you lunchbreak, just leave the rest to the newbies!”

[Newbie Workers] “““Y—Yes Sir…”””

[Quincy] “Got it!”

With quick and efficient work, Quincy walks up the stairs without stopping and even did a few shortcuts by crossing some steel beams by balancing on them.

[Newbie #1] “Hah~ Hah~ H—how does he do that?”

[Newbie #2] “It’s like…Hah~ it’s like he isn’t even carrying anything.”

Unlike Quincy, who already did 6 or 7 rounds going up and down the stairs, the newbie construction workers could only carry 2 sacks of cement and only did 1 round are now panting heavily.

[Quincy] “There…we go…*Phew* I can finally take a breather…hmm? Oh, perfect timing!”

With that said, Quincy held on to the hems of his gloves and secured them to his hands, he then takes a few steps back and then ran forward.

At the height of 14 stories high, Quincy jumps off the edge.

But of course Quincy didn’t jump off recklessly, when he said “Perfect Timing”, he was actually talking about the Crane Machine that was lowering its steel rope to the ground in order to pick up some more steel beams.

And as if it was all planed out, Quincy easily grabs on to the crane’s steel rope, did a single 360 spin and slowly lands his right foot on to the crane’s hook.

[Quincy] “Thanks for the ride!”

Showing his thanks, the construction worker that is manning the Crane, simply made a smile and waves back.

And just like an elevator, Quincy slowly descents to the ground.

[Newbie #1] “Wha—what the hell!?”

[Newbie #2] “Did—did he just jump off and…”

[Head Architect] “*Sigh* Seriously, I told that kid to stop doing that.”

The newbies of course are shocked to see an Action Film-like scene and kept their eyes on the descending Quincy, while the others who saw that simply gave a wary smile.

With the Crane’s hook just inches away from the ground, Quincy hops off and casually waves back at his coworkers.

[Quincy] “I’ll be taking my break now!”

[Head Architect] “Yeah, you can come back after an hour!”

With his boss’s permission, Quincy walks out of the construction site and is now headed towards a bakery that is about 5 minutes away.

Since Quincy has been working at the Construction site for months, the staff of the bakery already considered him as a regular.

And as a regular, the staff already knew what he will be buying. But that is what makes the staff question him.

By his appearance alone, everyone could tell that Quincy works on the construction site that is close by.

And the helmet that is strapped around his neck is also a dead giveaway.

For someone who is doing tons of hard labor, would a single piece of sweet bread and a small cart of milk be enough to satisfy his hunger?

Especially considering how his body is built.

Tall with a solid figure, one would think that he eats more than 3 or even 4 big plates full. But seeing as he only buys a single piece of bread, the staff continues to silently think to themselves…

Will this guy really fine with just those?

After purchasing his lunch, Quincy walks out of the bakery with a paper bag in hand and heads towards the children’s park.

Finding an empty bench on the side, Quincy sits down and starts to eat his lunch. But while he is doing so, he took out his bank book from his back pocket and then flips a few pages.

As he carefully checks on the numbers, he calculates and adds the amount he will be getting on this month’s salary.

[Quincy] (Hmm~ looks like I’ll be able to pay for the girls’ school’s fee…but I won’t have enough for the bills at home at this rate though…*Sigh*)

With his feelings half between both happy, for knowing he’ll be able to pay for both of his younger sisters’ tuition fee and sad for not having enough money for the family’s daily necessities.

[Quincy] (Looks like I’ll need to go look for more jobs.)

While munching on his sweet bread, Quincy hears loud laughter a few steps away from the park.

As he turns his head towards the laughter, Quincy finds a group of high school students, happily walking together.

And at that moment, Quincy stops eating his bread and silently watches the students passing by.

Unknowingly to himself, Quincy looks at the students with envy.

Though it may not seem like to others, despite his body and height isn’t like the other teen males, Quincy is actually at the young age of 16.

Due to his family financial problems, Quincy wasn’t able to get to high school and only finished 2nd year of middle school.

Seeing the troubles that his parents experience, he decided to help his mother and father with the bills as well as keeping his twin younger sisters in elementary school.

Seeing the backs of the students getting smaller and smaller, Quincy made a sigh and returns to eat his sweet bread.

But before the bread reaches his mouth…

*KABOOOOMMM!!!*

A powerful explosion roared, causing multiple screams and people running away from the explosion, but of course there are a few who are running towards it.

And one of those “Few” is Quincy Voorhees.

Considering on how loud the explosion was, anyone could tell how close it was, and as for the smoke…

[Quincy] “That’s close the construction site!”

Knowingly where the explosion came from, Quincy folds the bread and eats the whole bread and drank the carton of milk while running towards the construction site.

Since site itself is close by, Quincy got to the location quickly.

And unfortunately, Quincy was wrong about the explosion being close to the site, because the explosion came from the place he works.

A crowd of onlookers is formed close to the construction site’s entrance and Quincy proceeds to go closer by pushing through the crowds.

And as soon as he steps to the front, Quincy finds the entrance blocked by a big wall of fire.

[Worker #1] “Quincy, you’re here?!”

[Worker #2] “Thank god, we thought you got stuck in there.”

[Quincy] “I was taking my lunchbreak, so I’m fine. But…where are the new guys and boss?”

The other Construction workers didn’t reply and only looks at each other in contempt.

[Quincy] (So they’re still in there, huh?)

While the fire kept roaring, unlike everyone else, Quincy kept calm and observed his surroundings.

[Quincy] (That building should do.)

With that thought in mind, Quincy rushes towards the apartment building next to the construction site and run up the stairs.

And while he is running at the apartment halls, Quincy grabs 4 of the fire extinguishers he sees, making all the extinguishers he got in his arms 4 in all.

[Quincy] “Excuse, out of the way please!”

Finally reaching the 5th floor, Quincy quickens his pace and ran straight towards the hallway’s window.

*CRASH!!!*

[Man #1] “Whoa! Someone just jumped off the window!”

[Man #2] “Suicide!? Suicide in this situation!?”

While the people in the apartment building are panicking, the on-lookers below, as well as Quincy’s Co-workers are shocked to see him jump off.

Of course, Quincy never once thought of something stupid like committing Suicide, the reason why he jumped of the apartment window is so that he can jump over the 2 story high wall that surrounds the construction site.

And of course Quincy isn’t planning to land straight to the ground; he plans to use the trailer’s roof as a landing platform.

*THUD!*

[Quincy] “W—wow, that was scary, the trailer was farther than I thought it’d be, I thought I wouldn’t make it.”

After shaking off the stiff feeling on his legs, Quincy stands tall on the trailer roof and look around.

And a bit further away from the trailer where he stood, he can see 3 people gathered in a single spot surrounded my flames.

He then jumps off the roof and ran towards them while dosing off the flames.

[Quincy] “Boss! Are you guys alr—!?”

[Head Architect] “Q—Quincy? What the…grnnn…what the hell are you doing here?”

At first, Quincy thought there are only 3 people left in the site, but as soon as he got close to them, he found that there are actually 4 people and the one of them is pinned down by 2 steel beams.

[Newbie #1] “Y—you’re that kid!”

[Newbie #2] “How did you get—“

[Quincy] “It doesn’t matter, just pull Boss out slowly.”

[Newbie #3] “What!? What are you talking about, how can we—”

[Quincy] “Hunggg!”

[Newbie #123] “Eh?”

Just when the Newbies try to talk to Quincy and correct him, their sentence got cut off in the middle, due to Quincy doing something they would never think possible for one man to do.

[Quincy] “Hurry up….grnnn…and pull Boss away, even if I’m wearing gloves, the beams are……still burning my hands.”

Quincy is lifting the Steel Beams.

[Newbie #1] “R—right…”

With the head Architect moved away, Quincy quickly lets go of the steel beam and started to pet his hands on his lap.

[Quincy] “Whoa, that was hot, that was super-hot! That was—whoa, the gloves are black!”

[Newbie #1] “Wh—what now?”

After throwing away the burnt gloves, Quincy looks around and takes a blue tarp and placed it close to the Head Architect.

[Quincy] “Put the Boss here slowly, two of you will carry him while the two of us make a way with these extinguishers.”

And just as he said, the 3 newbies did what they’re told.

[Quincy] “Alright, let’s get out of—hmm?”

But just when they are about to leave, Quincy saw someone move at corner of his eye.

[Quincy] (There’s another one stuck here!?) “Tch, damn it! You guys go on ahead!”

[Newbie #1] “What!? What do you—”

[Quincy] “Just go!”

Ignoring the Newbies words, Quincy once again runs towards the flames with a fire extinguisher in hand.

[Quincy] “Hey, is someone here!? Hey! Ah, there you are. Hey we better get…out…of…what the—”

[???] “#&^%$%*#$&%!?”

[Quincy] “Hell are you?”

Quincy was looking for a man, or at least he thought it was a man. What stood before him is an 8 foot lizard like being that is standing on two legs.

And the other thing Quincy notice, other than loincloths-wearing giant scaly man-thing, is the big black round object behind the lizard.

[Quincy] “Eh—no way, is that a Sp—Spaceship?”

[???] “%&^#$*%#$%#&*^&!!!”

Right after seeing Quincy, the creature took out its claws and snarled at him.

[Quincy] “That is not a good sign.”

And Quincy is right; the creature starts to slash away, clearly trying to kill Quincy. But to the creature’s surprise, Quincy dodges the creature’s attack easily while speaking.

[Quincy] “Hey, calm down, I’m not going to hurt you.”

But even though Quincy is dodging the creature’s attack perfectly, his back eventually hits the support beam of the building, cornering him.

Seeing this as a chance to finish him off, the creature thrust’s its claws like a spear, aiming for Quincy’s face.

But instead of hitting him, Quincy blocks the attack by using the Fire Extinguisher as a shield.

And due to the Creature’s claws, the Fire Extinguishers spray its foam, hitting the creature’s eyes.

[???] “$&%*#(*^@!!?”

[Quincy] “Good, now calm down!!!”

With the creature leaving an opening, Quincy too this chance and gave the creature’s stomach a straight punch.

*BUMFF!*

[Quincy] “Ouch, that’s some solid abs.”

Bet even though Quincy said that, the creature still felt the punch’s impact, causing the creature to forcefully cough out air.

And with the creature leaning forward, its chin is easily exposed, making Quincy give it a powerful uppercut.

And with such a powerful hit, the creature’s body lean backwards, flipping its arms around to balance itself out.

[Quincy] “Now I hope you calm down after that—Ow, what?”

But while Quincy is keeping his eyes on the creature, something hit him on the head and falls to the ground with a small thud.

[Quincy] “What is this? A box?”

With the small box lying on the ground, Quincy picks it up and stares at it while holding on to it in his right hand.

But while he looking at the strange box, Quincy suddenly heard something like metal being torn.

[Quincy] “Huh? Oh no…”

Facing where the sound came from, Quincy’s face quickly went pale and did a very stiff and crooked smile, and even while there is fire around him, he could still feel the cold sweat rolling down his cheeks.

The creature, who was still flailing it claws, tore through the crane’s tank where the gasoline is stored.

[Quincy] “Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit!”

Seeing something like that, anyone would run away.

That is why Quincy sprints towards the opening the Newbies made and didn’t look back.

[Quincy] (Don’t hold a grudge against me in Space Hell lizard guy!)  

And with that final thought…

*BOOOOOOMMMM!!!*

[Quincy] “Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”

A louder and even stronger explosion bursts out of the construction site, making Quincy, who is a just a few feet away, flew off the ground.

*Crash!*

[Quincy] “Ow~ that was damn strong…Ah…”

[Ambulance Staff] “…………………….”

[Quincy] “Um…sorry about your car…”

With such a strong explosion, Quincy flew off the ground and crashes onto the Ambulance’s front window.

And as if nothing happened, Quincy got off the front window and ran towards the Ambulance’s driver and told about the Head Architect and the other 3 newbies.

[Ambulance Staff] “Wait, what about you!? You should be standing up; you just crashed on to our truck.”

[Quincy] “Oh right, umm… look, I’m really, really sorry about that, it’s not like I meant it to happen, I just f—flew towards your van…I really didn’t mean it………………Please don’t make me Pay.”

[Ambulance Staff] “That’s not the point! We need to get you to the hospital!”

[Quincy] “Wh—what? The ho—hospital.”

Those words made Quincy’s hands tremble.

But it’s not because Quincy is scared of the hospital, the thing he is afraid of is…

[Quincy] “NO WAY! I’M NOT GOING TO THE HOSPITAL; YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE ME PAY NOT ONLY FOR THE CAR, BUT THE HOSPITAL BILLS TOO!? NO WAY! YOU WON’T GET A SINGLE CENT FROM ME!”

[Ambulance Staff] “Ah~ wait!”

Right after shouting those words, Quincy runs in an amazing speed, completely escaping the Ambulance.

 [Quincy] “Ha~ that was close, those doctors almost got me.”

With the pace Quincy is running, he was able to reach a bit of a great distance from the Construction site.

Seeing the hill where his family lives, Quincy eventually slows down and calms down.

[Quincy] “Man~ today’s one hell of a day.” (I even saw an Alien……or at least I think it was an Alien...speaking of that Alien.) “That Lizard guy was carrying this box.”

With the Creature in his mind, Quincy took out the box from his pocket and looks at it from top to bottom.

[Quincy] “It looks like an ordinary box…or more like…it looks like a box for those jewelry rings…I wonder…”

And his guess is spot on.

While walking up the stairs heading up the hill, Quincy opens up the box and finds a pure red ring.

[Quincy] (Sh—shit, was that Lizard alien going to propose to someone? Not good, now I feel bad for leaving him to there.) “With that aside, what should I do with this?”

With the ring on his right hand, Quincy tries it put it on his left hand’s pointing finger and middle finger, but in the end it didn’t fit on both fingers.

And he eventually tries it on his ringer.

[Quincy] “Oh~ it fits pretty well…hmm? Gunnnnnng…huh? I can’t take it off, but it just slip through a second ago.”

With every step he takes, Quincy tries to pull the ring off but to no avail. He eventually reaches his home with the ring still on his finger.

[Quincy] “Oh well, I’m too tired right now, I’ll just try removing it tomorrow.”

Opening the door of his family’s run-down house, Quincy greets his parents and his sisters and then went straight to his room on the second floor.

Seeing his bed in a familiar corner, Quincy dove to his bed and went to straight to sleep.

As soon as his body fell on his bed, his eyelids grew heavier and his breathing clams down and with such relaxing combo, he quickly fell asleep.

[???] “It’s Morning…”

[Quincy] “Hmm?”

[???] “It’s time to wake up…”

[Quincy] “Mmmnn~ What?”

Though he can feel his body fully rested, Quincy felt like his sleep was only for a moment.

As he leans his body to the right, he quickly covers his eyes due to the sunlight passing through the thin curtains of his window and moves his body to the left.

[???] “Fufufu~”

With his eyes still struggling to open completely, Quincy hears a seductive giggle of a woman.

[Quincy] (Huh? Did my sisters hit their puberty already? But they’re just in 2nd grade.)

Wondering whose voice the seductive laugh came from, Quincy opens his eyes and find, not his 2nd grade sisters, but a woman.

[Quincy] “…………………………”

[???] “Fufufu~ Good Morning.”

[Quincy] “G—good morning.”

And she wasn’t a normal looking woman, if one would describe her, they would say she looks like an amazingly beautiful rose, shined by a gentle flame.

But her incredible beauty isn’t the only thing that catches Quincy’s attention.

She has eyes that no human on earth would ever have.
