Time marched ever onwards, not caring for those that endured its embrace. The Sun, an ever present marker for its passage soon began to crest the horizon. It glowered at the mortals below, not with malice or anger but with jealousy.
It envied the Fauna and Flora that were free to roam the world it illuminated. It resented the beings that couldn’t live without its emanating heat, light and mana. Without its benevolence, life would cease to exist on the teeming world below.
The Sun's rays beat down on the Canopy below, the leaves blocking the rays from reaching the jungle floor. The Sun did not mind, it enjoyed watching the light reflect from the colourful leaves below. From red to blue, to green and yellow, a diverse mix of colours that pleased the Sun.
As it rose higher, its rays eventually reached a small clearing in the jungle. Inside this clearing the Sun got to watch the bumbling mess of Phogrins go about their daily life. The village, if you could even call it that, was a discordant mess of jagged cone shaped stone huts.
The huts, an example of ingenious use of magic from a rather inept species. Motivated by laziness, the [Shaman] used his spell [Earth Spike] to create large cones of earth that were then hollowed out. Ingenious, yet innately moronic as every other species would build homes to provide protection and appeal to the eye.

Not Phogrins, they would rather sleep outside even with the huts around them. In the wise words of one Phogrin “Is far, me here… sleep good”, truly words of wisdom. Well… he later died of dehydration but that’s neither here nor there.
Phogrins are an interesting species, their innate laziness due to their unique {Trait} [Photosynthetic] proved to most why {Sapient} creatures shouldn’t have {Traits} that required they move less. Not that Phogrins are considered {Sapients}, their ability to {Evolve} disproved prior theories from researchers about their taxonomic placement.
The Goblin wannabes were directly placed in the {Monster} category, alongside Jungle Wolves, Treants and Sprigots. Unlike {Sapients} that are granted {Classes}, {Monsters} instead {Evolve} into a more powerful {Race}. This means nothing to a Phogrin as only 1% manage to make it to {Tier 2}.
Needless to say Phogrins are a declining species soon to go extinct but the Sun still enjoyed watching over them. It proved that not every evolution was perfect, and sometimes there was no point in envying what another being had, when soon… you would be able to do so as well.
However much the Sun enjoyed watching the little village, a new contender for her interest had appeared. Her light shining on his face had woken him up, much like it did the previous few days. She would enjoy watching what he would do today.
