PROLOGUE:

----------------------------------------

Have you ever been put into a situation that is similar to kidnapping with no restraints whatsoever? Currently stuck in a cottage in the middle of a dark creepy forest and your wounds all bandaged up as you lay in an unknown bed in an unfamiliar yet comforting place?

Yeah…

A fair and simple room with not much decoration, walls made of logs and beams made of wood. There was an exquisite tall bookshelf filled with books.Candle lamps pasted on the edges of the room and fire crackling in the fireplace filling the place with its warmth. Table and two stools found on the other side of where I laid.

Looking down below, Bandages wrapped all over from my arms to my hands as I raised my sleeves slightly and soon realized my head was also in bandage. However I don’t remember being injured, I don’t even feel slight pain. Have I been actually rescued and not been kidnapped like I originally thought since the atmosphere is quite calming. Is no one even here?

Even though this is such a peaceful place, there’s an eerie feeling in my chest like I shouldn’t be here. A feeling that I shouldn’t be here but somewhere else. I should be by someone’s side. I should…look for my brother and yet I felt a throbbing pain in my head as I thought of my brother.

My head turned as the wind was howling when the door swung open bringing the cold breeze inside. The throbbing pain faded when a tall hooded person entered the cottage, looking at my direction the moment he stepped foot. He was wearing a long dark cloak with a pair of brown pants and black leather boots.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

“Ah, you’re awake.” the person’s voice was kinda deep as he took off his hood. A tall young man probably in his late twenties stood a good distance away from me. He was panting heavily as he turned to me. He has black messy hair and blue eyes looking at me with a cold gaze and his lips formed straight as he walked to the window and looked outside before shutting the curtains.

My jaws dropped a few minutes later as I realized the man that stood before me was an old childhood friend that I haven’t seen for a long time ever since I was just eleven years old. I usually see his face when my cousin shows me their pictures back at home.

“Tsuki?” I muttered, calling the nickname I used to call him, however he didn’t react to what I expected at a normal reunion at all. He just raised his brows, giving me a dead panned stare. Is he really who I claimed to be or a stranger? It’s been years after all.

“You’re Mitsuru right? Do you know--”

“Your brother isn’t here. In fact, you shouldn’t be here.” His voice was stern and his brows crossed as he glared. He immediately grabbed my arm and took a dirty brown cloak as he draped it over my shoulders. At this point I realized I’m in a dangerous predicament. I immediately shook my arm off his grip as we finally reached the door.

“We have no time. You have to get out of here!” He shouted, threatening me with his eyes but I didn’t find it intimidating. As much as I found the potential kidnapper wanting me to escape. I won’t be bossed around by a stranger.

“Where’s Aurelius?” I asked glaring back at him. “Are you even Mitsuru?”

“I told you he’s not here!” The man avoided my gaze as he said nothing. He grabbed my arm again and pulled me out of the cottage. “You’ll get caught if you stay here any longer so leave!” he said as the man shut the door at my face without any more words.

I stared at the door after he violently shoved me outside. I immediately pounded the door, knocking it violently. “Answer my question! Where’s--”

Suddenly, I heard a loud cry of a wild animal as lightning lit the sky followed by a raging thunder. I felt the ground shaking as the cry continued. The headache came back again followed by throbbing pain in my chest as I leaned on the door The door immediately opened as the man caught my shoulders preventing me from falling

“We don’t have much time so…” I heard the man say as my vision was about to go blurry. A bright white light came to my vision before I lost all control of my being.
