Prologue
The Beginning of Time
In the ancient past, when the dawn slept and the dusk rested, there stood a being amiss the nothingness longing after something. So she held open her arms and spoke into the ethereal nothing. “I, The Commander of the Light and the Dark, The Joy and the Fury, The Hope and the Fear. I wish of light to create life, And of dark to create the land.” The Void rippled and bent, snapping to revealing outside itself two doors. One led to a paradise of light, and one to a paradise of darkness. The Goddess, who was mighty, could not “exist” in two places concurrently. And so she split herself. One heading into the paradise of darkness, The other heading into the paradise of light.
The Command, Held the Void in high Esteem, As it was the only other being that it saw, their first daughter of their own creation. The Void questioned, “With the energy you have, why long after such trivial matters?” The question echoed, as the Void holds nothing. It still wondered, with transcendent abilities, yet they wanted such a simple request. The Command, felt longing. As the void was almost as old and as powerful as they are, It simply did not understand. The question echoed, the feeling grew. Unable to admit it, The command felt trapped. Endless is the void, but a cage is, still, a cage. The Void, unsatisfied not knowing the answer, spoke out. “Why would you wish for something so simple, when you are cosmic?” The Void did not possess emotions, after all, nothing's have nothing but a voice. The gates to the concurrent paradises shimmered softly, The Void was sure the gates lead astray, hesitating, the fear of an answer was visceral. The Command, who were cosmic and bent the Void to their will, looked onto the shape in front of them. So unlike is the void, as nothing they are, it holds no memories or dreams yet, it questions persistently in an attempt to grasp what it cannot attempt to hold. “Why do you long after something you cannot?”
And unto the void did the Command speak, “I wish for freedom in this endless prison, knowing what befalls me should I leave.” Their words were true, For The Command held all sight, past, present, future. The Void with its unfeeling grasp on the subject could not understand. Why leave if only death and sorrow existed outside itself? The Void stood, knowing nothing it said would change the Command's wish. As nothing, it could not hold dear the things it wished for. It then again shown, the two gates, one of ivory and gold, that housed the paradise of darkness. The other, of Ebony and silver, that housed the paradise of light. It then spoke, giving the Command one final warning. “If you leave, and wish to return, you will find no solace here, for when you leave, I also, shall leave.” The Command heard the ultimatum and thought. For something with nothing, the reality was harsh. However, The Command's wish was powerful. They wanted freedom and they craved more than nothingness. Holding tightly to that wish. The Command split itself into two pieces. The One, who rules the night and the dark. The Other, who rules the light and day.

The Void watched the two halves of the greater whole. They each stepped to the door of their own liking. The gates of light and dark opened hesitantly for their new rulers, allowing them entrance, almost as if the gates regret their choices. The two dove into their realms. Fulfilling the wish of the whole to have another. And so they did. Each creating a realm that was beautiful and glorious, while the Void watched… it spoke to them and questioned their actions, For the Void knew, but it did not understand that the pieces were not The Command, its mother, but fragments. The paradises of darkness and light, stood for one thousand years. The seeds of doubt, jealousy, greed, pride, and murder took hold. While each realm tried to save itself differently, both were changed forever. The Void stepped back, and watched, Unable to assist or help.
The one who thrived in the dark places of The Command, set upon the paradise of darkness. As it walked into the empty realm and touched its raw power, land, and life became anew. A wondrous oasis of virility and magic. Seeing the content of its own realm. This one laid dormant in the land, not as an active participant of their work, but a silent guiding hand. A Sentinel against which the Void questioned “One so willing to create and form, yet you lay and watch from the shadows, does this give you no joy?” For, being one half of a greater whole, It knew of the emotion, and for a while. It was joyful, Its creations neither bickered nor quarreled. There was peace between the ones of feather and light, and the ones of leather and night. Sadly, One seed of doubt is all it takes. One of darkness, the goddess was forced to choose, watch her beautiful realm collapse from the blood and broken bodies, Or create a new way to watch the peoples it had worked so hard to create.
The other, bathed in light and shown proudly through the Command, went unto their paradise of light. They found empty space and did unto it their wish. To create beauty and kindness within a realm of their own. And it was done, the realm blossomed into a wealth of beauty and grace. Marking the creation of the paradise of light, The goddess stayed amongst its people, The ones of feather and light, and the ones of leather and night. An active and divine presence. The people they had made however grew jealous, and vile. To protect themselves, The Goddess created five new children. The Void spoke unto the goddess seeing them, “One so willing to stand with their creation and yet needing a barrier of protection?” And unto the goddess of light, the Voids words rang true. For her five children were changed from protectors of the Light, and instead made defenders of the people. After time, The goddess grew fond of their defended, the majesty and beauty of the realm kept her away from her own children. With this, Her children grew jealous and callous. In an act of violence never before seen within the realm. All five began slaughtering their mother. The children then motioned into hiding the truth, having gained what they wanted, The love of their mother in the highest order, to themselves.
