Deep in the woods of Everlors, two voices could be heard of Jake and June, twins of ten summers.

“ Jake Austin Darmith, stop or I will beat you so much even mother won't recognise you” said the huffing blonde girl with short messy hair.

“ First you have to catch me” the boy shouted a response, who according to himself was expertly navigating the the ancient green untouched by man.

The wind whistled past everything and sun shone through the leaves, and Jack looked back and saw no trace of June. Suddenly a force hit him and he got tackled to the ground.

“ How dare you cut my hair” screamed the assaulter while punching the victim.

“ I am sorry, I won't do it again” cried snot faces Jake.

“ How can you, there is nothing left to cut” June screamed.  

“ Wahhhh, I am sowry”, he cried again “ Mommy “  

When the crying and hitting stopped due to being tired. The sun was already over the head.

“I.. don't know where we are” June admitted.

“ Well neither do I” Jake said smiling with his shining blue eyes.” But that's the fun part, no one has ever come this Deep in the forest, we are the First,.the explorers the pioneers.”

“Yeah, there is a reason no one has come before, didn't you ever listen  when old grandel says of the dangers in the forest, of monsters, witches , demons and spirits”

“ There is a reason why the call him ‘old’, June you can't believe everything he says”

“Then what of Frederick, he has told you about the monster sightings on his hunt.”

“ He just saw some wolves, nothing much”

“ Agrhh… no arguing with you, now what.”

“That, I don't know” Jake admitted.

“I suggest we find water and follow it , it will eventually lead to the village”

“ Then good news sis, heard sounds of water running a mile down south”

After trudging through luscious vegetation for what seemed to be hours the pair finally saw the river.

“This way or That way” Jake said pointing towards either direction of the river.

“Does it matter, eventually we will reach some kind of sentient settlement”

“Let’s flip the coin then”Jake suggested. “Heads this way, tails that way”

“Not the coin again, you  have been carrying it for two years now, it’s just a fake counterfeit. When will you admit the trader duped you?”

“I was not duped, it’s a legitimate totem” Jake said as he flipped the coin.

“Yeah, sure” Jane quipped in sarcasm

“It’s heads, and we are going, and I have a feeling it’s the correct way”

“We have been walking for hours now” the complaining girl refused to walk any further.

They had been walking for so long her feet had started to ache, and hunger had started to make her headache.

“Just a little more and we will be there” jake tried to console her. “I think I hear something calling me there”

“The only sound to be heard are the rumbling of my stomach” June was having none of it.

“Wait, look ahead behind the that tree” Jake exclaimed in his discovery.

“Which tree, don’t you try to distract me”

“No, the one beside the violet magflower bush, don’t you see a building there. Let’s go” Jake said as he dragged june towards the stone  structure.

On a closer look it was a old an ancient building,covered in moss and vines as nature had started to reclaim what was lost. It had beautiful  interlocking stone, all white marble. Made like an alter it had a facade of two thick pillars and a arch between them leading towards inside.

But, what was impressive was not how the altar had stood the test of time, now how it got here in middle of nowhere. What was impressive was the giant wolf statue right in front of its gates and how not even a speck of dust could be seen on its surface, as if it was polished daily.

“This is creepy as hell, I think we should go” Jane remarked.

“I… Sure” Jake said. MOck the WoLf

“Did you hear something” Jake said looking around to try and find the speaker.

I SaiD iNsuLt the WoLf , the  unknown screamed.

“I am not…..” Jake was abruptly interrupted by another voice.

“Wolf is nothing but a relic of the past, it hold no power over anyone and never has. NO, one even follows it now, it’s forgotten dog left to rot on the mortal plane.” Said jane but the voice was not her’s. It was alien and controlling.

“The dog is so lonely now even the moon has left it, so worshiped and the moon is with another”

Jane continued.

“Enough” spoke a voice, but no sound could be heard. Instead it hit like a blast on energy inside their mind.

A shadow loomed out of the altar, followed by it’s  castor. A giant wolf, of blue shining fur, taller than a house and bigger than any animal Jake had ever seen. Its eyes shone a bright silver and its vicious teeth white and full of savagery. A sky blue translucent barrier formed around a two arms distance from its body, giving it a ghostly aura.

“Though I may be old and forgotten, and though i may not have followers anymore,I am LUNCIFER the wolf god and I will not be mocked by two human welps. Especially not for the moon” The wolf continued to speak without opening its mouth.

Jake face paled as he saw the wolf, and it whittned even more when he saw June charging at the wolf. He ran after her hoping to stop her. But she was too fast, even faster than usual.

As Jake was about to reach for June’s hand she reached the wolf. And slammed against the wolf. But she was stopped mere distance from the god as the Blue barrier pulsed once.

It sent a shockwave that hit June and Jake, within moment both of them were flying through the air, flung of the ground. Jake landed first, and then he heard a thud as June’s landed behind him.

He turned and saw June laying in the dirt unmoving with a bloody gash on her forehead and blood gushing out of it. Jake ran to June’s side and put his hand on June’s wound to stop the bleeding, but it wasn’t stopping.

Tears welled up in his eyes and June stopped breathing.

Anger and pain mixed together and Jake screamed through the tears “ You murdered her, I will kill you”

“But you cannot, you are powerless in front of me, let bygones be bygones and go home” the  wolf said unemotionally. Saying this the wolf turned back towards its altar.

Jake still sat besides June and felt hopeless.

“Oh but you can hurt him” whispered the unknown”You can even kill him”

Jake felt the golden coin throb in his pocket. “Jake Austin Darmith accept me and let my power flow through you”

Jake looked at the wolf’s back and felt anger throughout his body, in soft and stern voice he said “ I accept”. Jake took out the coin and it shone a blinding golden light , he felt power surge through his hand and into every inch of his being. A golden film surrounded the boy and his eyes  turned golden, as he lept in the air and punched the wolf in its hind leg.

The hit drew blood and the wolf howled in pain, it swiftly turned and hit the boy with his front paw. The boy raised both his hand and caught the claw.

“But, how??” the wolf  was bewildered

“This is how” The foreign voice spoke through jake mouth as it flung the beast in the air and slammed it into the ground on its back.

The wolf now on its back tried to bite the boys head off but was stopped by a swift knee to its jaw. The boy now on top of the wolf pinned it down with his knees and raised a hand in the air to strike. The hand was covered in golden aura and it aimed for the beast god’s heart.

“Who are you?” the wolf asked

“That’s none of your concern” the voice replied as the boy ripped the wolf’s heart out ending the god’s life.

The sun was just over the horizon as it shone on the boy standing over the dead wolf.The boy’s arm was dyed in blood and was holding a still red heart.

“Let’s go now” the unknown spoke as the wolf’s body turned to ashes leaving behind not even bone.

“But , we have to save June” said Jake looking at June

“I cannot do anything now, she is gone from this plane”

“I know you can , I can feel it”

“I cannot you will lose all your power , all this glory, I will not let you.” the voice said anxielly

“You will do as I say.”  Said Jake as he strode towards June. And placed his palm upon her chest.

“Neverrrrr!!” screamed the voice as Jake’s hand shone golden light and enveloped June. And as the light died out Jake eye’s returned to their natural blue colour and the coin turned to a gray stone. June head stopped bleeding, and her wound sealed up in moment even all the cuts and bruises vanished and her skin turned smooth as a baby’s.

Tired but hopeful Jake whispered “June”

“What!!” June shouted as her eyes snapped open. “What are we still doing here, i said we should go back”

“Yup” Jake said with a bright smile and a bruised up face. “By the way I still don’t have any idea where is the village, but I say we should head towards the direction we came from” said jake as he started walking.

“And why is that so, if I may dare ask”  said June as she followed Jake.

As the moon climbed the night sky, and Jake finished his recollection of the story, the pair finally saw the torches of their village.

“I still don't believe you” said June “I mean where is the wolf’s body then”

“Believe what you want to believe” replied Jake as he looked at the moon and his eyes flashed golden for a moment.

And as the pair raced downhill towards their home June asked “ But why did you cut my hair”

“Oh! That, I was just bored” Jake replied smiling through his teeth.
