The ashes of war fell upon the charred land beneath. The potent scent of blood flooded the senses. The numb feeling of pain sprouted from within. The war was over, finally, we had done it.
But then....why? Why had they done it?
Had I done something wrong? I don't think I ever did anything to deserve a fate such as this. What hurt wasn't the sword portruding from my chest, but the pain of being blindsided and betrayed by people I thought of as my own. Let's be honest, the only one I can blame is myself. I was arrogant. I should've been smarter, acted more tactfully. This wasn't earth, this wasn't somewhere you could show your true self to just anybody. They would use it against you without thinking twice.

"Heh....heheh.....haaah....."
"Why are you laughing?" A tall man with blonde hair gazed down upon me disdainfully.
Just a couple hours ago we were laughing, where did that smile go?
"Nothing.....I just found it funny", I said as my head started spinning
The body of a hero was quite resilient, but even it wasn't invincible. I had lost too much blood to recover, and healing magic couldn't heal wounds of this caliber, I guess this was it, it was the end.
My limp body fell forward, and I closed my eyes and accepted what had succombed me. It wasn't hatred or anger, just a small flame, burning on the essence of vengence and retribution.
Oh what I would give to have another chance
And just like that, my vision went blank.
