I got dressed quickly and met her leaning face first against a tree.
"Let's go"
"Alright" she replied.
As she turned around I found her appearance rather strange, her face was completely flushed.
"Pfft,"
"Why the idiotic chuckle" she asked as her voice trembled.
"Hmm…. who knew you could get that embarrassed just thinking about me getting dressed"
"What"
"Look at your face, it bright red like….."
Before I could complete the statement, I felt a sharp pain on my neck,
"Ahhh! What... was that for?" I mumbled.
"Just think about laughing and I'll aim for your balls next" she gestured, tossing her feet back and forth.
"Please…. Don't"
Hmmm, Yusa has been acting really strange lately, well, not that it's any of my business, I should focus on the mission.
"Alright, let's go"
We immediately took off, the forest was surprisingly vast which made it the hardest hurdle we had to get past in other to reach the town,
After running for the whole day, we camped by a huge tree which was right in the center of the forest.
"So what part are you going to take?" yusa said in a mild tone as she turned her gaze to me,
"Part…. What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Are you making a fire or getting food" she replied.
As she said that she tilted her gaze down trying to avoid eye contact.
"Oh…. Then….. I'll make the fire"I said with a smile.
It was obvious that I would choose the fire, I mean who in there right senses will opt for a more strenuous work, or perhaps, did she picture me being a gentle man and leaving her the easy work, no, there is no way.
Now she glare at me strangely, like she was dissatisfied or something.
"What…. Is something wrong?" I asked.
"Shouldn't you leave the less stressful work to me, you know, since am a girl and all" she complained.
"Like I care" I shrugged.
"What!"
"And also, aren't you the one who gave me options"
This girl is obviously crazy, one minute she's all serious and composed, the other, she acting all girly, it's just crazy.
"That was just me showing courtesy" she said.
Stolen story; please report.
Oh, so that's why.
"Well….. Too bad, am going to fetch the sticks now, so get hunting"
"Wait, you bastard don't think you'll get away with this" she ranted.
In one leap, I took off and landed on a branch,
"Hahaha serves you right!" I laughed from a distance.
From above I could see her face fuming with anger and somehow I just felt satisfied, how mouth seemed to be moving as though she was saying something, but, I couldn't hear a thing,
"Hey, I can't here you….! The wind seems...! Hold on, the wind"
Wait a minute, I had been screaming out my lungs for a while now, but for some reason I couldn't even here my own voice, something was headed straight for me, and it was headed real fast,
I steered down again and the only thing I heard was yusa screaming,
"Akashi, get out of there!"
But the warning came a bit too late, i was already trapped in mid air as a huge wind came rushing straight for me, there was nothing much I could do in this moment, I couldn't react fast enough to get of its way, it was already too close.
Instinctively, I drew my katana from its scabbard and defended myself,
"booooom!"
The wind dispersed upon collision
"Akashi! Are you alright" She rushed forward and held me up,
"I think so, but my waist feels numb" I replied holding my side.
"Phew, but what was that"
"I don't….. kno…." I stuttered,
"What's wrong?"
I then pointed upwards.
There was a man standing on a branch and he held a katana by his waist. His eyes were extremely cold and that alone spelt danger.
"Oh no…. Akashi" she whispered,
"Yea"
"We have to run…. Now"
"Agreed"
She raised her katana upwards then struck it into the ground, suddenly an outburst of wind coupled with the dust from the ground created a dust screen,
We immediately took the initiative and amidst the confusion we made an escape, we ran through the night and didn't stop for a single second.
"Huff.... Huff….. I think….. We lost him" Yusa gasped for breath.
"Yea…. Seems like it"
We were trying to catch our breath from the marathon we had just undergone and that resulted in our Ignorance to the town's gate of Badilled standing before us.
