Alrighty then.
I've got an entire world to make so Imma put the ideas somewhere before I forget them.
First, I'll assume that Versailles is the royal Road equivalent of Midgar, the homewolrd of men, that is why their are more humans than other races. In other continents there are also likely to be a large veriety of races, but a homewolrd's primary population will be a specific race.
Everything except for the name of the world is something I am going to make up, and I probably wont use the actual name of the world for their continent. If anyone has a suggestion, feel free to add. I won't be locking this post and I will add new ideas that I like to it, and adjusting old ones to the suggestions of people who have a good idea.
(Though if he does go to pony ville, Keagan will eat the ponies and Crane will kill everything just to see if any drop something unique)
-Svartálfaheimr
The continent of the dwarves and gnomes.
Like Versailles, this continent will have a large variety of many races, but the primary population will be dwarves.
Svartálfaheimr will have many highly dangerous monsters, dragons, drakes, and wyverns will be common. Though most will not be as intelligent as the ones in Versailles.
To protect themselves, the cites and kingdoms of Svartálfaheimr are mostly built beneath the land, dug out of the earth or mountains. The cites are highly technologically advanced.
A continent of hidden cities where only the strongest dare live above and hunt the legendary beasts that roam the lands.
As dragons will be common here, a large variety of dragons and dragon related classes will be shown. Wars above ground between armies of dragons will occur. Dragon slayers and dragons riders wielding magic swords made by the blacksmith dwarves will clash in awesome ways.
-Álfheimr
The continent of the elves.
Like Versailles, many races will live there, but the primary population are elves.
The cites and kingdoms are incredibly beautiful and (most) harmonize with nature. However beneath the beauty of the world lies darkness and war. The many races of elves often fight one another for dominion over the lands and their beliefs clash with each other leading to holy wars.
Other than the standard races of elves, Wood, High, Dark, Sun, Moon, Star, and Aquatic elf, there will also be several mixed breeds other than human-elf. Like the Fey'ri, half elf, half demon hybrids who forms vary and occasionally have bat like wings.
Because elves are quite dramatic, there is much drama in -Álfheimr. Politics, forbidden love, betrayal, secrets and lies. Basically think the world of Game of Thrones but with elves.
Dramatic characteristics of main elf races
High Elf
-They consider themselves superior to all other races of elf (non elf too but they don't say it aloud)
-They have more interest in increasing their knowledge of powerful magic than they do preserving nature.
-Their cities are beautiful but often at the cost of nature.
Wood Elf
-Forest dwellers that have the highest affinity to nature.
-They do not use arcane magic so much as nature magic, nature itself is their weapon.
-They consider the land sacred and disturbing it is forbidden to them, a concept that often puts them at odds with the high elves.
Dark Elves
-The dark elf kingdoms are kingdoms only in name. There is no law or government. Attempts to take these lands by others have always failed because the land also has many powerful monsters not found in other places. Due to this, any area that is deemed unconquerable is considered apart of the dark elf nation. That being said, dark elves do live there in numbers higher than any other nation.
The dark elves who live in these areas do not limit themselves as the other elvish races do. They cut down trees for homes and eat meat. They do respect nature but they do not revere it. They also have a larger fertility rate than other races of elves, but the dangers of their homeland keeps the population down. The ones who do survive are battle hardened and strong.
The so called dark elf nations are also home to hidden cities filled with dark elves and abominations, hybrids, Fey'ri, and the like
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
-Jötunheimr
The continent of giants.
This continent does have non giant races, but in far fewer number than other continents.
The giants are mostly civilized, not all unintelligent. They have enormous cities built for giants that were carved from mountains worth of stone (an entire mountain range is needed to have enough stone to make a giant city)
The many race of giants will be explored in detail. Normal, fire, frost, cloud, and more will each have a part and there will be giant battles.
Ideas not of the nine worlds
-Ancient islands
A string of close island that once held an ancient civilization. The people consist of mostly seafarers and some mermaids. This land has ancient temples and ruins, treasure maps and pirates, sea monsters and adventure. (Basically one piece with less luffy, though I can't promise that I wont make a pirate ship filled with the equivalent of luffy's crew. Swordsman, sniper, thief, chief, monster pet, assassin, artificer gnome in a mech suit, sword using undead bard, and a mer-man monk.)
-A floating continent
Can be inhabited by angels, and other strange and amazing winged races, as well as archons. (I'll make Archon a human-like race that bonds with a flying mount and rides it to battle, the knights of the sky if you will.) In which case Crane will be mistaken for an archon if he rides Keagon there.
-Abyss
Far beneath the surface where sun does not show. A world where demonic races live their lives and battle each other for control. All the flair of hell (with 2 Ls) with out having to die.
This one does not naturally have any non demonic races, so Crane will have to find a way out on his own (Get out of hell? Good Luck). For certain reasons I'll explain later, that spell he used, Random transfer, can only be used in certain places, so unless he finds one, he'll have to escape manually.
-Atlantis
He'll figure out a way to breath underwater if it comes to that, but this one is self explanatory.
-Shores of death. (As far as a mortal can go to the land of the dead without dying.)
A hidden continent that lies separate from the rest of the world, it holds the doors of death, a place where the dead can come and go freely. Around the continent is a pure sea, any dead who touch it are instantly purified, but there are ships that can sail over it.
The population consists of ghouls, ghosts, zombies, wraiths, liches, and worse.
In order to blend in, Crane will seal his life force into something, making him undead, and relatively no different from those around him. As an undead he can even go through the gates of death to explore, but he wont be able to take his life force with him so he would have to leave it somewhere.
The pure sea is connected to the rest of the world through a single point that constantly changes and cannot be predicted. There are also great beasts in the pure sea. Many ships are built in the continent of the dead to pass through the pure sea to the rest of the world, basically escaping death, but they often wander for eternity. Most of the ships however are destroyed by the pure sea monsters, sinking the ships and their dead crew into the pure sea, destroying them forever.
To enter the pure sea from the outside, you must pass through a specific patch of fog that appears only occasionally at random parts of the sea. Because of this it is impossible to predict where the portal will appear. But many a wayward sailor has accidentally sail into a seemingly normal bank of fog that is in fact, a one way ticket to the land of death itself.
If alot of you pick one of the place above I'll throw Crane there first.
If you can think of a certain plot or storyline that would work in one of these worlds, feel free to suggest it.
