The Second Part to the Second Tale

1

“What?”

“I quit.”

“Yes I heard you the first time, I’m asking what you mean by it.”

“Exactly as I said.”

Before the conversation could go any further, Owen hears the door audible swoosh open, and in walks his old friends, five of them to be exact, all female except one.

Owen mutters under his breath, “Band together to defeat a common enemy eh?” he chuckles a little, and turns to the receptionist, “Might as well let them hear the good news, eh Bob?”

“Sure. Go ahead, I already have to work overtime dealing with them, what’s a good rumour or two gonna do, and besides it'll be known by the end of the day anyway, but make sure it;s not too loud, we get enough noise complaints already .”

Owen gives Bob a curt nod, then turns around again to see them sitting at a table near the edge of the room. Going over to the bar Owen asks for the usual, which always manages to taste like watered down beer and piss, though it’s better than everything else, after he gets his drink, he walks on over to the table where, Joshua and his “Involuntary Harem” are seated, grabs a chair from nearby and sits down between Josh and Amanda, who for reference is, the princess of a neighbouring country, I know what you are going to think to yourself, don’t, nobody knows, It’s a mystery of the universe that eludes us to this day, either way he sits down between them, elbows Josh, then gives him a wink, and before any one could get any words out says,

“”Here's to me for quitting this godforsaken job,” Owen takes a big gulp before continuing,” and a happy summer to all yall! Who's ready for a day of excessive drinking!” Owen thrusts his drink above the table, without spilling anything, expecting no clinks on the mug, and oh boy did he expect right.

His yelling quieted the hall, his voice echoing through out, after the echos die down, Owen pulls his arm back from above the table, leans back, looks around, and says, elbowing Josh,

“Tough crowd tonight. How do you usually get these kids riled up for a day of excessive drinking?”

Josh and his rugged face and sculpted muscles and ruffled brown hair, sets his drink on the table, looks Owen dead in the eye, sits up, he’s just a smidge shorter than Owen, and says,

“Watch this,” before turning to the crowd of people.
