Chapter 3

[The Maid? You mean the one that tried to kill me?]

Arbaz was surperised because in his previous lives Andrew had never came to him for the leniency of the maid

[Yes, I know this may be asking too much for me but I think she is not someone who would do this.]

[But she did.And According to the law of the kingdom, she is punishable by death. If you donot have solid proof then I cannot forgive her.]

[But...]

[Enough! If you have nothing else to say then get out.]

Andrew withdrew from the room disappointment.Arbaz looked at him and thought of the reasons why he came to him.And it's not like he didnot wanted to help the maid but she was one of the reasons of his death. She and her daughter had to die. It's better to kill the snake before it grows and come to bite you.

Arbaz throws himself on the bed, looking up the ceiling and begun to think. Why did she tried to kill him?He had never did anything to her.Why was she trying to kill him?Was she threatened by someone? If so, then who.Who was trying to kill him?

Arbaz got up from his bed and exited the room.He called out to the soldier that was nearby.

[Oi! You.]

[Young Master!]

The soldier saluted him by making a fist of his right hand brought it to near his heart.

[Lead me to the dungeon.]

[N-no]

[Then lead the way.]

The soldier begun leading the way and Arbaz followed He was brought to the back of the mansion where a building made of stone was standing.

He entered the building. He saw a guard inside the building who was sleeping and giving blatant proof of his idling. The other soldier hurriedly wake him up from his sleep.

Arbaz moved toward the door which lead to the dungeon and tried to open it but the door was locked. He ordered the guard to give him the key.

[Give me the key.]

[Yes.Here, Young Master.]

The guard hurriedly gave him the key which was dangling on the wall. Before entering, he warned the guard.

[I am going down and nobody is to follow me.]

Without waiting for the reply, he descended downstairs. The stairs leading downstairs were dark and gloomy. He could even see the steps clearly. After a 15 steps or so, he reached downstairs. There were six cells in the dungeon, three on each side, with a bed made out of straws and a simple toilet in the open.

On one of the wall, there was a small window of about 30 cm width and 20 cm height, through which a small light was entering the prison. In one of the cells, on the left side, the maid was imprisoned.

The maid was quietly sitting there with her head placed on her legs. She heared the sounds of footsteps and looked up to see who it was but due to the darkness. She couldnot see the person except for his tiny feet. From the darkness, there were two glimmering red eyes watching her. From that, she understood who it was.

[...Y-young Master?]

[I am going to ask you some questions and you should not even think about lying.]

Without waiting for her reply, Arbaz continued asking.

[Who was the one who ordered you to kill me?]

[........]

Arbaz question was answered with silence but he did not get angry and said.

[I asked you something ]

[....Some men came and they kidnapped my daughter and said to me that if I do not kill you then they will kill my daughter.I could do nothing.......I know what I did was wrong and I should be killed but please save my daughter She did nothing wrong.nothing wrong.]

At the end of her sentence, she began crying and begging for her daughter life.Arbaz looked at her for a moment before asking.

[Where were you to meet with them?]

[...Near the enterance of the forest tonight.]

[You should worry about youself for now and not needlessly worry about your daughter.]

After saying that, his already blurred figure dissappeared in the darkness.Coming out of the building he gave the key to the guard and said to him.

[Go and wake up Andrew.Order him to come to my room.]
