Tale of Alice
Prologue 1

Prologue 1

The first thing I remember waking up is the sight of pure darkness. This darkness wasn’t like the midnight sky which contained small amounts of light that were produced by the moon and stars but pure unending darkness like somebody took away all the light of the world.

My mind felt heavy and was in a complete daze. My body felt as though I was weightless like it was a feather.

After a little while the daze in my mind calmed down a tiny bit and I was able to begin to think clearly. I looked down in order to confirm the condition of my body only to find that my body was encased in smoke.

No. That’s not right. It was more like my body was the smoke.

Seeing the condition of my body my dazed mind was completely cleared and was replaced with an unending sense of panic.

Where am I?!

What is this place?!

What happened to my body?!

There were so many thoughts coursing through my mind that my mind was in complete disorder.

However, before I was able to do anything about those thoughts I saw a bright light being shown out of the corner of my eyes. I turned to see a white flat oval shaped object emitting a bright light nearly blinding me.

The oval object suddenly began to ripple like waves on the top of the sea. Slowly the object began to distort and began to change its shape. It’s center began to shrink and the of the object sprouted upwards and changed into the shape…. of a human skull.

It’s transformation didn’t stop at just a head. Slowly it began to sprout arms and legs making it a faint outline of a human body. Before I could even respond to what I had seen the human like figure began to shook slightly and a faint white line appeared on the head of the creature exactly where the mouth was supposed to be. The white line began to move and a raspy voice reverberated throughout the dark void.

“Hello, little one”

It was a simple greeting but mere sight of this being talking caused me to tremble in fear and terror to the degree that I couldn’t even think of responding and could only stare at it blankly.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

“Can’t respond yet? Oh well.” My lack of response seemed to have pissed it off a little because it spoke in a slightly irritated tone.

It raised it’s right arm and waved it like it was trying to swat a fly. Even though it appeared to be a light wave of the hand I felt a gust of wind pass through my misty body. This wind was by no means ordinary because when it passed through my misty body all the fear I felt earlier disappeared. When I looked at the being before me or when I thought of my situation I didn’t feel afraid at all but I was able to calmly think about the situation I was in without any trouble.

“Okay, human listen up.” The creature said before I could respond. “I guessing that you want to understand what sort of situation you are in right now, right? And I was sent here to explain what's going on right. But, to tell the truth I hate being interrupted so don’t speak until I am finished, alright?”

“First off let's begin with introductions, I am a servant of the god of prophecy and destiny Moirai, in your world you would refer to me as an angel. As you have probably figured out by now you have died.” the angel said bluntly, “However, your death was normal than we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. In truth you weren’t even supposed to have died in your world in the first place! 2 years from now during your senior year of high school you were supposed to be summoned to a different world along with the rest of your class in order to become a hero. But, who would have thought that you would die in before you even got to be a hero!

However, since you can’t be a hero anymore now that you are dead and all my master doesn't know what to do with you. So he decided to consulting the goddess of wisdom Athena, to find out what to do with you. In the meantime I have been sent here to explain the situation and to answer all of your questions so you aren’t confused when the god passes judgement upon you.”
