“HERE IS MY DEMANDS.”
In the White Space, the space between the worlds where nothing supposed to exist, echoed a voice that spread all over. It was coming from a thirty-six-years-young human soul named Yuu confidently shouting at a three-meters-tall, four-armed divine being while brandishing a piece of written paper in his right hand.
The divine being, who were tinkering with several system windows at the same time, observed the hundred-seventy-three-centimeters-short Yuu for a short moment before muttering to themselves, “Curious.” Monotonously.
It wasn’t the response Yuu was seeking for. He thought he could gain the upper hand against the divine being by surprising them with a letter of demands. It was meant to show the divine being that he knew the secret workings of the white space beforehand—of how anyone could create anything given enough willpower and imagination. To show them that he was worthy to get more power than the average soul summoned to the place. After all, the moment he woke up in the white space after being hit by a truck and dying on the spot, he had an inkling of the great things awaiting him, thanks to all his experience reading web novels and manga: a reincarnation to the otherworld, where having more power meant an easier time fighting enemies.
Disregarding the slight frustration Yuu felt, the divine being opened Yuu’s profile.
[ Hoshino Yuu ]
Date of Birth: 1985-03-24
Date of Death: 2021-11-11
Home World: “Earth”
“I see now. You came from early twenty-first-century Earth. That explains things.”
The divine being promptly closed all the system windows surrounding them, and transformed his size to match Yuu’s. “Welcome,” they said, shaking Yuu’s hands using their upper arms while taking away Yuu’s letter of demands with their midsection arms.
Faced with the sudden change of attitudes from the cold, uncaring attitude to a more welcoming one, Yuu didn’t let go of this chance to confirm the situation: “You are God, right? And am I correct in assuming that I’ve been summoned here to be sent to another world to defeat the Demon King?"
The divine being smiled, seemingly holding back a laugh. “I appreciate the thought, but no, I’m not one of the Gods. I’m just one of their countless humble proxies. And, yes, your quest is to neutralize the Demon King of another world.”
“Good. That’s good.” Yuu let out a relieved breath. He was glad because his gamble was right. Defeating the Demon King was only a deduction to him until this point, and he wrote his demands based on that. Wouldn’t it be catastrophic to be demanding the wrong things from a divine being the first time you meet them. That shows arrogance. He could get sent to otherworld without any cheat skills at all. But he still took the risk because that’s just who Yuu was. “So, wait… if you are not a God, then are you an Angel?”
“Technically, no. But, if we go about your world’s and era’s level of comprehension about Angels, then, yes, I am.”
“I don’t get it. You are an angel, but also not an angel?”
“Correct.”

God’s proxy put Yuu’s letter of demands in front of themselves. It only took them a nanosecond to read and memorize the letter whole. They handed back the letter to Yuu after it became useless to them.
“Now, I don’t think the Gods would mind fulfilling all of your demands, except for one. Letting you keep your past memory and current personality intact; Giving you a healthy twenty-or-so-years-old body with maxed out stats, and the ability to perform high-level skills with full-on masteries from the get-go; They are par for the course for you to defeat the Demon King. However, what’s with this last demand: to be dropped off on the top of Demon King’s Castle from the start?”
“Well, the final objective of the quest is the Demon King who is located in his castle, yes? And for me to be able to achieve that, you are going to bestow me unmatched powers during my transfer to the otherworld, correct?”
“Technically, the Gods are the one who is going to give your powers as I am just their proxy—what’s your point?”
“Well, I just figured why don’t you just drop me on top of the Demon King’s Castle like the tactical nuke that I am and be done with it? Nipping the problem in the bud using all the leftover energy of the transfer, so to speak.”
“That’s—” God’s proxy was left speechless. Not because they were baffled or anything. It was because they had received a sudden divine call from the Gods that prevented them from saying anything. The call ended in a second, and God’s proxy said, in a monotonous tone, “Congratulations. All of your demands have been granted by the Gods. Be prepared for the transfer. You’re going to have one hell of a ride.”
“I’m always prepared.”
God’s proxy snapped his fingers, and Yuu found himself unconscious in the sky, four thousand meters above the Demon King’s Castle. A ridiculous amount of mana was pooling up inside of him. He was freefalling. Fast.

The moment Yuu hit the ground, a massive mana explosion occurred. Its destructive force spread far and wide in seconds. The Demon King and his lackeys couldn’t escape from it. Everything within a one-kilometer radius was obliterated to smithereens, leaving a huge crater behind with Yuu lying unconscious at its center.
“Fuck… my head.”
A couple of hours later, Yuu regained consciousness. His head was pounding like having a bad case of migraine and his vision was all blurry. However, despite the pain, he stood up and tried to get his bearings proper.
I felt so stiff. How long did I fall unconscious for?
Slowly, the pounding faded, his blurred vision began to clear, returning to normal focus, and the first thing that he saw with clear eyes was the system window hovering in front of his face.

To think that I’m actually here. The otherworld. The Isekai.
A stupid smile was forming on Yuu's face. He remembered the first time he encountered his first isekai manga that got him engrossed into the genre. The feelings of excitement that he felt were the same as back—No. The feelings that he felt were greater. He was in isekai for real, and with his main quest completed the moment he arrived, he was now free to do as he pleased.
“HERE I AM! FREEDOM ISEKAI ADVENTURES! CATGIRLS AND ELVES! SWORDS AND MAGICS!”
Yuu shouted nonsense to let out the excitement welling up inside of him. He was stretching his stiff body when he noticed the changes. His joints were more flexible, and his senses were sharper. He had the six packs that he couldn’t get in his previous life. All his limbs were jacked. He could even hear countless people screaming for help from dozens of kilometers away. They were either like: “Somebody help!” or “Demons are attacking the town!” or “Quick! Everyone run away!”
“Wait… What’s happening?”
The cogs inside Yuu’s head were turning in disbelief the moment he heard those screams.
Are those people for real? How could demons be attacking them? I thought once the hero got rid of the Demon King, the rest of the demons were supposed to just drop dead or something. Did something happen when I was unconscious? Scratch that.
He swung his right leg and ran towards the noises. As he started off, his first few steps made him break the sound barrier, leaving small craters on the ground with each step. He was surprised by the blowback at first, but came to terms with it quickly. He knew the Gods were true to their words to maxed out his stats with all the changes in his body. A little bit of speed should also be a natural outcome.
“Nice! I’m speedy, boy!”
He covered hundreds of meters for every step he took. The more steps—the closer he was from the sources of the noises, the more he realized that the screams were not just coming from one general direction. It was coming from all over. Apparently, demons were rampaging in a lot of places, and by this point, only two things were certain for him: People needed help, and he couldn’t stop their desperate call for help from assaulting his ears.

Despite crossing deep forest areas and a couple of mountains, it took Yuu less than an hour to see the outer walls of the nearest town in distress. He was moving so fast, it took him less than a second to reach the town’s gate. The problem was, he didn’t know how to stop himself with all that inertia. He tried to plant his feet into the ground, but the momentum kept pushing his body forward. It was too late.
