The Chance

The Chance

This was their chance. Chris quietly moved toward the right room. But just before he made it in, the floorboards creaked under him. The creature shot it's head back towards Chris. It started moving it's head around. Chris stayed as still as possible. The creature walked up to Chris and stopped.

Chris got a good look of the creature. It had no eyes, just a nose, mouth, and ears. It was bald, except for a patch in the back. Although it looked short before, it was standing eye to eye with Chris. It moved it's head around, almost like it was trying to hear something. It then walked into the center room. Chris sighed of relief, and continued moving toward the right room. As soon as he got in there, he grabbed the 44 magnum that was on top of the dresser and moved back toward everyone else.

"Where was it?" asked Gabe.

"Just on top of the dresser to the left" said Chris.

The party thought of ways to kill the monster. It was too fast to accurately get shots in. Everyone decided that the best way to kill it was to wait for it to stay still. They waited for hours, when finally the monster started standing absolutely still. A droning sound filled the room, and it's chest heaved up and down. "It might be asleep right now" suggested Michael. Gabe walked up to it with the 44 magnum. He put the barrel right next to it's head. He breathed in and out, trying to calm himself. As soon as he thought that he was calm, he pulled the trigger.
