Li Yun floated in a dark space that felt like the bottom of a deep ocean. The hazy and murky sensation filled his thoughts. His body shifted and spun around, but he felt no control. It was like he was in the state of Zuowang, but without the ability to see. He didn't know what was happening but he could smell something. A sizzling sound of grilled fish and the smell of hot chili oil simulated his appetite.
"Someone is grilling fish?" Li Yun thought and then wondered if Rouxi was cooking something.
A humming voice by a woman surrounded him. It wasn't Rouxi, but the stranger's voice sounded familiar. Every time she hummed, Li Yun felt a warm and peaceful sensation. Every time she moved, Li Yun moved along with her. He wondered if he was experiencing her memories. A heavy footstep approached from the distance. Li Yun felt a chilling stir, and his awareness increased. He could hear the beating of the heart and various pulses surrounding him.
"You're home early today," a woman's voice echoed.
She turned around and then screamed. Li Yun felt a presence overpowering the woman and a pounding throb of pain entering his head.
"Please! Let me go!" She struggled and cried, begging the intruder to release her.
A loud slap snapped the woman into silence. She wept quietly. Li Yun felt the stinging pain spread across his own face. A series of thumping sounds moved up the stairs as the woman continued struggling against the intruder. The muffled cry of the woman sounded like her mouth was sealed. A violent push knocked the woman off-balance, but she landed on something soft. She thrashed around to loosen the restraint as the thought of what was about to come gloomed over her.
Her movement slowed down. Li Yun could hear pieces of her thoughts. The intruder had left her alone. She thought it was possible he was only there to steal something and leave once he got what he needed. Her husband was about to return and she prayed that he could save her. She wanted to pound on the wall, but she didn't want to alarm the intruder.
A man's painful wail alarmed the woman and her thoughts filled with horror and hopelessness. Again, she began to thrash around, hoping to escape. She pulled out with all her might, marring her skin with red rashes along her neck and wrists.
"Yudan! You bastard!" The husband cried out from below.
The intruder tightened a rope around the husband's neck and dragged him upstairs. On top of the stairs, the husband collapsed and almost lost consciousness. The intruder loosened up his hold.
"Gutao, you better not die now! I'm not done with you!!" The intruder cried maniacally.
The intruder dragged the husband into the room where the wife was held. A rumbling sound could be heard from the corner. The husband screamed and yelled, cursing at the intruder Yudan. No matter how much he cursed, he wasn't able to reach his wife.

Li Yun felt the pressing weight of the man on top of the woman. The vileness of his penetration caused the husband to scream.
"Yudan!!! " The husband continued cursing as his wife's eyes turned emptied and lifeless.
Yudan laughed as he pounded into the wife.
"Damn you Yudan!!!" The husband screamed."I will f****** drag you to hell!" His anger fueled his strength and a sound of breaking metal could be heard. "Go to hell!!!"
Another struggle between the two men would be the last a body collapsed on the floor with a heavy and resolute thud. The intruder Yudan laughed again but suddenly stopped. The silence frightened the woman, but there was nothing else that could be done. She had lost all thoughts of the future, slowly mourning the loss of her husband.
"Don't worry dear, I'm coming soon," Li Yun could hear her last thoughts as her heartbeat stopped.
The intruder escaped shortly after. Li Yun couldn't feel any life in the room except for his own, a small little heartbeat that had been hidden while the woman was still alive. Without any external sounds, all he could hear was the sound of his own heartbeat growing erratic and pulsing with the desire to live. There weren't any words to express the pain, he simply wanted to live. However, a drowning sensation filled out his entire being. The next moment, his heartbeat stopped.
Li Yun's eyes opened and he felt Rouxi's hands over his heart. He felt relieved.
****
"Are you really all right?" Rouxi looked worried as she drove him back.
"I should be fine," Li Yun replied. Li Yun felt his own pulse. His jing, qi, and shen had been drained by half, but there wasn't any effect on his physical body.
Rouxi returned him an unconvincing look. "I am still taking you to the ER for a checkup. Your heartbeat stopped for three minutes."
Li Yun had been unconscious for three minutes, but the memories felt like hours. Every time he recalled the memory, he felt like crying. He hadn't cry since he was a kid, but he wanted to cry and scream like the soul he had taken over. The little baby inside the womb was the last to breathe, and when it died all resentment blossomed rather than died along with it. Maybe using spirit detection wasn't the best idea. Or he should avoid it if there was a possibility of a Yin Ning, or a baby fetus ghost.
According to legends, Yin Ning were powerful spirits because they were technically not completely human and couldn't just go to the afterlife. They stayed on Earth until their energy evaporated. However, Yin Ning with a strong grudge could create a gravity-like yin energy that absorbed negative emotions. He could feel the negative emotions from the husband, and a lot from the wife since she was directly connected with the baby.
Li Yun didn't think spirit detection was that powerful, but the event made him reassess when it would be appropriate to use it. He had heard of sonic boom before, but he had no idea yin vibration could knock him out like a truck. When Li Yun's consciousness appeared inside the womb, he could only hear things that happened around him. He could pick up a few pieces, but he had to fill in the gap with a lot of guesswork.
Rouxi pulled into the Yide Hospital parking lot and dragged Li Yun in line. Looking ahead, Li Yun spotted Ju De waiting near the front line. He had Ju De investigating the doctor in the illegal organ harvesting case, so he had expected to see him. Rouxi also noticed Ju De and dragged Li Yun near the front.
"Ju De, hand over the ticket," Rouxi commanded.
Ju De ignored Rouxi and turned to Li Yun. "Why are you hanging out with her?"
"My girlfriend," Li Yun didn't see the purpose of keeping it a secret from people other than his parents.
Ju De could quickly piece together that his sister had likely introduced them. He gave Rouxi the ticket. "Big sister Meilin, you owe me 5k for this ticket."
"I'll send you later," Rouxi grabbed the ticket.
Ju De shrugged. "What is the ticket for?"
"He just collapsed."
Ju De stared at Li Yun. "You look fine."
"She's overreacting," Li Yun remarked.
"His heart stopped for three minutes," Rouxi stared down at Ju De to agree with her. "I don't think I'm overreacting."
"I'll look around some more, I'll talk to you later," Ju De walked out of the line and looked around.
