Boisterous laughter erupted out of Egon, and as Edric sat down. The old man would reach over the counter and Pat him on the shoulder. “I have to be a son. With age comes wisdom after all; Along with gray hairs and wrinkles. Certainly have a lot of that going for me.” The older man would reach down behind the counter and pull out two cups setting them up on the counter. Both Edric and Egon preferred sitting outside in the early mornings, mainly to bask in the sun and the cool air.
He then reached over to a coffee pot off to the side and pulled it out quickly pouring the black liquid into both of the cups, Gesturing for Edric to grab one, To which the younger man did and took a brief sip out of it. On the inside, He was disgusted by the taste, However on the outside he simply mumbled “Oh ....man tha- that's good coffee….” Edric never did like pure black coffee. He liked a bit of cream in it to cut the bitterness. But he did not want to be impolite to Egon.
Egon also took a sip out of his cup of coffee and, unlike Edric, he showed no reactions, instead he simply leaned forward and towards the younger man. “That it is, Fresh beans from Mt. fuji. Wakes you up and gives you Energy to see the day through. And you need it more than I do Edric. You're a heavy sleeper for the most part.”
The Older man took another sip from his cup and simply sat in the silence of the early morning, No one was out at this time. So it gave him and Edric time to converse before starting the day. “And I see you and the children have been conversing as well… they see you as an older brother in a sense”
Edric continued to sip his coffee, simply giving a slight nod of confirmation. He set the cup down and glanced around at the knick knacks and other miscellaneous items that decorated Egon’s restaurant. “They are something else. When I first arrived at this ....place, Those kids helped me out. I’d be too much of an a-hole to out and reject them after all they did.” Edric honestly would be in an even worse situation if not for Laos and the rest of them.
They were the ones that found him when he first arrived here, almost half dead. They dragged him to Egon. The children felt that the old man was the only one they could trust to help Edric and thankfully their trust was founded. He owed his life to The old man and those Kids. And wanted to help and repay them in any way he could. Edric mulled over this for a moment more, But then decided to get off topic.
“Mt, fuji huh, Someone from japan decided to name it that in honor of it” Edric spoke, setting his now empty cup of coffee to the side. The early morning son flared through the windows basking the cafe in a soft orange light. And for a moment, both Edric and Egon sat in the silence, simply enjoying it, basking in it. Egon then broke the silence with a question posed to the younger man. “Edric…. How have these past few months been treating you?, I assume it's still a shock being here?” The Older man set aside his now empty cup of coffee and simply waited for the younger man’s answer.
Edric looked at his still somewhat full cup of coffee for a moment before he set it aside. He could not really find the right words to say. A minute of silence passed through the cafe once more, before finally Edric decided to speak. “It’s different….that's all I can really say on the subject Egon. But it's still great despite everything else going on”

Edric did like the town, Normston. Rather on the nose for a name but it was peaceful despite the system users constantly coming and going, Edric reached over and grabbed his cup of coffee, ready to take a sip out of it. Only for the sound of something loud hitting the ground on the other side of the street opposite of the restaurant. A figure with skin as black as shadow and hair as white as snow, two sets of fox-like ears, had just tossed what appeared to be garbage behind his back, thus littering the street with it.
Egon’s face seemed to scrunch up, gaining even more wrinkles than before due to the disgust in the person. “Never changes, No respect for us. Mind grabbing that son. Before one of the vultures do?” Edric gave a small nod of affirmation to the old man and set aside his cup of coffee getting up from the stool. He then walked across the now empty road eventually arriving at the discarded item. It was an old wheellock pistol. It was somewhat fancy with the engravings but not overly gaudy.
He could not understand why that system user threw it away. The man reached down and picked up the Wheellock. It seemed to be a standard wheellock, but with sideloading capabilities. Which should have been an impossibility back on earth, But it's a matter of taste here. Most system users often discard stuff like this because it either has too low specs, or looks like crap and clashes with their outfit. But hey, their loss in his opinion.
“What is it son!?” Edric overheard Egon shouting from the restaurant/, The man stood back up to his feet and walked back over to the restaurant setting the gun on the counter right in front of Egon. The older man picked it up and looked over it with a curious glance. “Wheel lock, with a side loading mechanism for cartridge rounds. Interesting.. But it is not unusual for a system user to throw away something like this without looking at it in depth.”
Egon would undo the latch on the side loader and inspect it a bit more, One thing that Edric would never get used to is Magical items, and this gun was somewhat Magical in nature. At least the loading mechanism. “Here son, you can probably make better use of it than I can. And you will need it for your first job today.”.
After a moment more of inspecting the gun, Egon would close the latch and hand the gun back to Edric. Alongside sliding 200 Dontra bills across the table..And finally a map of the forest outside of Nordstrom. ””Simple hunt, Some drabbits. Just need the meat and hide, the meat for the restaurant and the hide for Mrs.liu. She needs more hide for clothing and such. Use the dontra to get some ammunition for the Weapon”
Edric took the Dontra and wheelock from Egon, and soon got up from the stool. However before he went to leave, Egon spoke up one last time, already noticing a few customers coming over to the restaurant. “Be careful Son and Stick to the easier parts of the forest. There are a few areas where Drabbits reside in packs. The map already has a few locations marked, so it should not be too much trouble trying to find them.”
Edric simply gave a small wave to Egon as he began his trek to one of the Weapon sellers. “Got It Egon, I will.” Egon, seeing this gesture from Edric smiled, He then shook his head as he watched the Younger man walk away. “To confident for his own good sometimes, I swear” Hearing a customer approach Egon gained a smile and spoke
“Welcome to Galatia!”
