A young boy was swinging his sword at a dummy made up of wood practicing his swordmanship. He was wearing what seems to be a swordsman uniform colored in black and a symbol of kusanagi sword on the shoulder proving that he is a member of the clan and a letter engraved on the back with 'IchiKen' meaning 'One Sword' the lowest rank of Swordsman level after they graduate from 'DeshiKen' meaning 'Disciple Sword'.

"Whew" after swinging the sword for a few more times, the young boy stopped and proceeded to wipe his sweat off his forehead.

His name is Kusanagi Kuro a 13 years old who just finished his apprenticemanship and has been given the rank of 'IchiKen', he became an orphan when his parents was killed in the war against the hostile clan 10 years ago.

After that event he trained to become strong, he matured overnight and became independent trying to improve himself to not be killed in war. He didn't train to avenge his parents, for after losing his parents he studied and gained knowledge that this is a world plague with war, if you are weak you die, if you are strong you live, as simple as that.

It is now Year 537 of Swordsmen Era, Kuro's first mission was to patrol the northern border of the clan along with 1 NiKen 'Two Sword' a rank higher than 'IchiKen' and 3 others 'IchiKen' who just finished their apprenticemanship like him.

Two days before the day of their departure, he already prepared all that he need. As it was his first mission and a dangerous one at that, Kuro knows that he need to be prepared as much as possible.
