Sword Demon - Prologue

Prologue

In a valley between two mountains.

It was littered with countless corpses and weapons.

There was not a single whole corpse; some were missing arms, legs or heads.

The fallen weapons ranged from swords, spears, axes, knives, bows and many more.

Inside the valley a river of blood had formed from the blood of at least thousands of dead humans.

In the middle of this field there stood only a single person with a missing left arm.

It was a man holding a sword in his right hand with a length of 160 centimetres. The sword had a single edged blade with a width of 7 and a length of 140 centimetres with the hilt being 20 centimetres long. He himself was about 185 centimetres tall.

The man and the sword were both completely covered in blood. No other colour, other than blood red could be seen on this figure. Despite this you could still see that he was handsome and looked to be in his early twenties.

Three spears, two swords and countless arrows could be seen having pierced trough the man’s body. One spear pierced his right shoulder, one his stomach and the last one in his left leg. The two swords had pierced his right chest and his left foot. Arrows were embedded into his whole body except his head and a spot slightly left to the chest where his heart was located.

Suddenly the man raised his head towards the sky and started laughing loud. The laughter was filled with insanity.

“Hahahahaha trash like you wanted to kill me? You bastards thought just because you ganged up on me you could defeat me? In your dreams! I am invincible, the strongest man in this world! Hahahahaha*cough**cough*”

The man suddenly coughed out blood and staggered but he didn’t fall and remained standing.

With difficulty he spoke: “I have …. lived as I wanted …. my whole …. life. There is …. but a single regret. I still haven’t …. reached the pinnacle …. of the sword. It always …. feels like …. there is …. something missing. Hahahaha  … doesn’t …. matter …. I am …. the ….. strongest …… anyways.”

And he started to laugh again, a laughter filled with proudness and arrogance. After a short time the laughter stopped. The man had died while standing.

The valley once again sunk into silence.
