Five years ago, the city of Ryke, a girl with bright blue hair, dressed nicely in a white dress, with pink and blue strands on it, a nice pair of pink shoes, and her beautiful brown eyes, sits under a tree in a nearby flower field, with a large view of the city below, and the only thought on her mind...loneliness. This girls name, was Sagamie Lilfolt. Sagamie fiddles with a doll in her hands, as she stares out over the city, the barrier surrounding ryke clearly visible from the hill. Not saying a word, or letting out even so much as a hum, Sagamie remained completely silent, and all that could be heard was the wind blowing through the flowers. As Sagamie turns her head, she notices a woman standing on the edge of the field, the woman dressed very nicely in a long white coat, and wearing a nice big hat.
"Sagamie dear, it's time to go, the hunters are insisting we return to our homes" The woman smiles.
"..." Sagamie's silence continues.
"What is it Sagamie? Is everything alright?"
"...Is...When is dad coming home mom? He's been out on buisness for 2 weeks now, I miss him"
"Y-Your father is a very busy man Sagamie, all we can do is be patiant and wait"
Sagamie nods her head in response to her mother, and proceeds to stand up, closing her eyes, she takes in the smells of the field one last time before returning to her mother. Little did Sagamie know, her father wouldn't be coming home, as he had been killed in the line of duty just a week earlier. Now nobody remained but Sagamie, and her mother, and Sagamie felt very alone. Later that same day, Sagamie sits in her room, at a brown desk in which she has a bright desk lamp, shaped almost like a flower. The lamp shines down on a piece of paper, layed flat down on the dask, and Sagamie sketching the flower field she was sitting in earlier onto it.
"This is it! I'm so glad mom let me go sight seeing today! I need to refine the lines though, I think I left my pen in the living room!" Sagamie says happily.
As Sagamie leaves her room, she runs down a dark hallway, torwards a light in the distance, however before turning the corner, Sagamie overhears her mother, who seems to be having an argument with somebody. "Not a chance Yusaku! You want me to give something as dangerous as this to my daughter?! Have you gone insane?" Sagamie's mother says clearly in distress.
"She doesn't have to wear it, but I think she should atleast have something this important to remember her father by Bell. Afterall, I couldn't stand to see this gauntlet in the hands of anybody else but the Lilfolt family, not after all the years I spent with Gio. I'm asking you as a friend Bell, let Sagamie have this." Yusaku pleads. Sighing from Yusaku's constent pestering on her, Bell decides to take the gauntlet off his hands, but makes it very clear she will not allow Sagamie to have such a dangerous weapon.
"Mother? What is this about? I heard dad's name" Sagamie asks her mother as she comes out from the hallway.
"O-Oh! Sagamie, it's nothing truly, did you need something?"
"Just my pen, think I left it in the living room"
"Hey you're my fathers friend right?! Do you know where he is!?" Sagamie asks Yusaku.
Upon being asked the question where Gio is, Yusaku gets down to his knees and breaks down in tears, bowing his head to Sagamie and apologizing to Sagamie for his weakness, continuing to plead that he is not worthy of being a hunter. This action taken by Yusaku confuses Sagamie, only proving to further her loneliness without her father around. Sagamie runs away from the room, causing her mother worthy, who then looks down at Yusaku and calls him pathetic and asks him to leave her home.
After Bell hides the gauntlet she was given by Yusaku, she goes back into the hallway and heads torwards Sagamie's room, lightly knocking before calling her name. "May I come in?" She asked, but no response followed. "Sagamie?" She says again, but again, no response followed. After getting no response twice, Bell lets herself into Sagamie's room, to find her gone, and her window wide open. Realizing what has happend, she quickly runs back to the front door, shouting Sagamie's name and frantically looking around for her daughter.
Meanwhile Sagamie has made her way back upto the flower field, sprinting up the hill, whilst tears flow down her face. On the way up the hill, she trips and falls face first into the dirt and flower, her crying getting louder, as she grips the dirt in her hands. "He's dead isn't he! Father isn't coming back!" She says in such emotional pain that she can barely let the words leave her mouth. Sagamie lifts her head from the ground and props herself up on her feet, and crouches down next to the tree on the hill. "It's not fair, father was nice, why would anyone do anything to him!" Sagamie asks herself.

"H-Hey girl! You okay?" A girls voice shouts from the distance.
"Hello? I'm talking to you, you with the blue hair!" The voice becomes louder, and sounds much closer.
Sagamie reacts to the voice, and notices a girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes running torward her, her hair flowing in the wind, and a look of worry across her face. The girl finally reaches Sagamie and notices that she is crying, and is very quick to call her lame. "Hey that was uncalled for! I'm not lame, j-just leave me alone" Sagamie says as she wipes her nose.
"Oh lighten up a little! It was only a joke, I guess i've never been very good at those, but you're crying, I had to try and cheer you up somehow dummy" The girl laughs, punching Sagamie's shoulder lightly. Sagamie continues to give the girl a stern look before muttering to herself that she is fine with it, if it was just an attempt to cheer her up.
"May I sit?" The girl asks as she smiles at Sagamie, almost looking to desperate.
"Are you gonna give me a choice? Or were you just asking because you wanted to see if I said yes" Sagamie asks the girl with an unamused expression.
"Wow you're sharper than I thought, I took you for a complete wimp, you know, cause you were crying and all."
"I am not a wimp! You havn't the slightest clue what I'm going through, who are you anyway?!"
"Now now, I approached you first, it is only polite I hear about you first! Don't you think?
Sagamie sighs as the girl clearly thinks of this situation as some sort of game, only serving to make fun of her for crying. "Sagamie Lilfolt, there, now your turn" Sagamie mutters, clearly annoyed with the girls shenanigans. "See that wasn't so hard now was it, cheer up will ya!?" The girl smiles as she wipes Sagamie's face of tears.
"Marigold Jackstagger. That's my name! Nice to meet you Sagamie Lilfolt, now...Wanna tell me why you're crying?" Marigold smiles, a smile so wide and bright that Sagamie completely forgot why she was crying for a moment.
"M-My dad is dead, I overheard my mom and her friend talking, they d-didn't say it directly, but I knew what it meant"
"That's it?! How old are you anyways 7?!" Marigold laughs.
"NO! I'm 9! and this isn't funny, how can you sit there and laugh after what I just told you?!"
"HA! I'm 11, 2 years older, so you have to listen to your elders! That's the new rule as long as you and me are together" Marigold boasts.
Putting her hand on Sagamie's shoulder, Marigold quickly changes to a more serious expression and attitude. "I will be your friend, the thing you need right now is comfort. People die everyday, on every year, it can't be helped, especially with the way the world is right now, but the best thing to have in a time like this is a friend to talk to. So I will ask you straight up Sagamie Lilfolt...May I be your friend?!" Marigold says with a smile.
Sagamie unable to come to words, begins to shed tears after hearing Marigold's request, quickly moving in to hug her as a response. "Yes we can be friends!" Sagamie shouts as she bursts into tears.
"Man you are a strange one, it's okay though, let it all out. I guess it's because of people like you that I want to become a svail hunter" Marigold smiles as she wraps her arms around Sagamie. "Svail Hunter?" Sagamie says in confusion, her nose running from all the crying. Marigold stops hugging Sagamie and puts both her hands on her shoulders. "Look at me Sagamie." Marigold asks.
"Could I be a svail hunter!? I mean...Do you think I could become one!?"
"T-That's what my father was though, and he died doing that dangerous work. You just became my friend, why would I let you do that!?" Sagamie shouts, clearly against the idea.
"Sagamie! If we joined it together, we could avenge your father, don't you see! That's it, it's settled, I will be your teacher from today forward!" Marigold shouts with confidence.
"Are you even qualified for that role?!" Sagamie says with surprise.
Suddenly Marigold grips Sagamie tightly. "Come on, don't be a buzz kill silly! Promise me! I know you can, I know WE can... We will join the svail hunters and make it so nobody else has to lose their family like you did. or I did..." Marigold says with a fading expression.
"Marigold you-"
"Promise me! When we grow up, we will become the best svail hunters there are!" Marigold pesters.
Sagamie sighs as she looks up at Marigold and smiles. "Yeah...Okay! I promise, when we grow up, we won't be the ones who need saving!" Marigold and Sagamie smiles as they sit on a hill of flowers, gazing at the sunset. The girl by the name of Sagamie Lilfolt, was no longer lonely.
