Chapter 1
Opening my eyes is a difficult feat as sunlight shines through my one window and burns them. After my mind is cleared of its fog I remember the events of last night. With a sigh I quickly accept my new reality and move on. I remove my bandages and check my wounds, I think in this new world my healing is superior as the wounds already look like year old scars.
Opening my status I quickly check it.

Reading through all the changes I notice I am full recovered and rested. Walking over to the wardrobe which now covers my door
I open it and take out some clothes. A pair of black Nike air max 90s some loose fitting grey adidas pants a long sleeve top and a Nike puffer jacket. It was winter even though the sun was out it was undoubtedly cold. Putting on the clothes I grab a bag and start to get my kit together. I put in two bottles of water and all my tinned food in the big pocket. I also grab a lighter and my first aid kit. After that I get a kitchen knife and modify a regular brown leather belt into a utility belt like thing. It is strapped across my shoulder and chest, it holds my two biggest sharpest kitchen knives.
Whilst I was doing all this I stared at the kitchen knives and thought to myself...
Suddenly a notification appeared.
----------

That's good to know, i guess. Also while doing all this I got two more notifications.

----------
Useful skills, looking at the belt In my mind I see that it is a 'modified leather belt with 5/5 durability.' Deciding that it is time to leave my apartment in search of other survivors I leave all my tech behind as it won't work anyway. From the position of the sun outside my window I guess it is just before midday. After pushing the wardrobe out of the way I slowly pull my door open. Peeking my face out all I hear is dead silence. I see some doors on my floor are either open or of their hinges. At the end of the hallway I see a fire axe behind a pane of glass, grinning I slowly and cautiously approach this new weapon with one of my knives in hand In case of danger.
With a solid looking piece of wood from one of the broken doors, I slowly smash the glass. After every hit i cringe with the noise but finally I reach the axe. I put my knife in the belt across my chest and grasp the axe handle with both hands. I grip it tightly and inspect my new weapon.
----------
Fire Axe
Quality: Good
Damage: 10-15
Durability: 10/10
----------
After inspecting the axe I turn right and go down the stairs. There are no incidents till I reach the floor where I killed the two wolves the night before. I stare at the grim corpses one with a machete in the other with a caved in skull. Whilst staring at the corpses a notification prompts me to look up.
----------
Would you like to loot these corpses?
YES NO
----------
Mentally tapping yes the corpses are surrounded by a golden light and they disappear. In their stead is two black wolf hides and one green vial.
Picking up the two pelts I place them in my backpack, I take more care with the green vial and whilst I had my suspicions as to what it was it was confirmed by a 'ding' and the blue screen.
----------
Weak stamina potion
Restores 20 stamina when consumed
----------
Flicking the screen away I once more cautiously walk down the steps. My feet made no noise as I approached the ground floor once I got there I poked my head around the corner then quickly pulled back.
There appeared to be 3 goblins in the main foyer. They where facing away from me so I dared another peak, they still weren't looking my way I take this chance to observe them one looked exactly the same as the first goblin I saw. The others on the other hand where slightly larger maybe 5'6 and more muscled, they also had some leather chest piece on.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
One of them was behind the counter tossing things about, while the scout was shaking the vending machine and the last warrior gazed out the shattered glass doors. Above each of their heads I saw, Goblin Scout Level 3 and 2 Goblin Warrior Level 5s.
I pull back into the doorway and consider my battle strategy, I'll go for the desk warrior first then quickly get vending scout after that I'll 1 v 1 door guard.
Reassuring my two handed grip on the axe I take a breath and quickly charge round the corner. Reaching near enough the desk I quickly vault it and kick the shocked goblin warrior in the face. Knocking the creature to the ground with my kick, I bring the axe above my head and sink it into the goblins chest destroying its ribs lungs and who knows what else. That goblin is dead but know the others are aware of my presence, I jump over the desk again and sprint to the goblin scout. The idiotic creature is bending to pick up its weapon from the floor where it left it so it could shake the vending machine. Vending scout grasps the handle of its weapon but its to late. My axe blade is already in its bald skull I hit brain and shift my grip to pull the weapon out. Turning to face the last warrior I see the goblin is about 3 meters away. Door warrior has his weapon in hand it is the same old rusty machete. Staring into the monsters eyes I give a monstrous roar, take 2 steps forward and jump to the right to avoid the monsters lunge the goblin is now about half the axes length away from me. Dropping my weapon I dive into the green skinned creatures side, I get the creature in a half bear hug with my right hand gripping the wrist that holds the machete. Whit all my strength I squeeze the goblins wrist forcing it to drop its weapon. With it now defenceless I use my arm to get it in a choke hold and after a minute of struggle and it scratching my forearm and tricep, it finally stops struggling going limp.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU KILLED A LEVEL 5 GOBLIN WARRIOR 98 XP GAINED

I sigh and drop the limp goblin warrior. Staring at the corpse I wait for the screen.
----------
WOULD YOU LIKE TO LOOT LEVEL 5 GOBLIN WARRIOR?
YES NO
----------
Mentally tapping yes I wait for the golden glow. After the body disappears what is left is a leather scrap, a loincloth and the rusty machete. I take the scrap of leather then move to the other bodies the other warrior has the same drops and all I take is the leather again. I take nothing from the scout as all it drops is its loincloth and the machete. Once I've looted the corpses I go grab my axe take a sip of water then I'm ready to go.
Looking through the shattered glass doors I take in the situation. Corpses litter the streets monster and humans alike, but mostly human. Thinking what my next move should be, I decide to try and find other survivors. Hopefully my friends will have survived and we can meet up. I do not worry for my family as they are all long dead. Well my dad was just never there and my mother died of cancer when I was 3. My emotions are numb to that hole situation.
Anyway, my quick survey of the streets outside led me to think that no living monsters roamed about. Taking a deep breath I sprint into the open and towards an alley across the road. Bile once again rises in my throat as the smell of the corpses hits me. Pushing through the nausea I force myself to crouch slightly and cautiously make my way through the alleys. My current destination is the local Walmart. There I can get some new supplies and see if there are any other survivors.
Luckily there were no monsters in the alleys although i saw plenty of them on the streets I passed. I saw quite a few level 15 Minotaurs, thank god they weren't the first monsters I encountered. They were on average 7' tall and biceps the size of boulders. They carried large two handed axes, their legs were like large goat legs with shaggy brown fur, large human like torsos and the head of a bull.
After about 15 minutes of navigating the alleys I see the Walmart. The carpark is across the road, and its flooded with monsters. Viciously the monsters tear into the corpses of humans who they slew. Watching the supermarket I try to find the best way to enter. After about 2 minutes the carpark which has about 50 monsters in mostly level 4-6 zombies and level 5 wolves gets distracted by a screaming noise. The scream comes from the part of the carpark farthest from me, while all the monsters are distracted I sprint for the right side of the market. Quickly scaling a medium sized brick wall I drop into to the back area of the market where the trucks are and where they bring the stock into the shop. Scanning the area I dropped down into, I notice there are 2 bodies here but they are both monster corpses, both being goblin scouts.
Finishing my brief survey of the area I move off to the big shutter doors that lead into the back area of the store. Grasping the handle at the bottom I use my leg muscles to stand up straight taking the door up with me. The door lifting created a sound that made me want to die its screeching surely rung out for miles.
Taking careful steps I walk into the back storage room of the store. A massive grin forms on my lips when I see the goodies in this storage area. From food and drink to sports equipment all is here. I instantly knew that all my current equipment was about to be replaced. Walmart truly is number 1!
Running over to the camping and hunting storage areas I can't help but jump with joy.
Stripping down I replace my current clothes with some black leather army boots, some camo pants with more pockets than I thought possible and a normal top with a thick camo jacket. I also stuffed a balaclava in my pocket. Dropping my bag I grabbed a camping backpack which could probably fit twice as much stuff as mine. Putting my food and water in this new bag I also replaced my weapons. Grabbing two hunting knives and a Bowie knife to replace my kitchen knives. I took the best looking crossbow and scope with a fuck ton of bolts. And deciding I like my axe I kept it but I'll also take a tomahawk for fun. Now I look like some kind of freaking army guy with a shit ton of equipment.
After my raid I stood in the back area of the store checking out my new goodies.
