1.28 That time I became a Beyblade~

The supervising elder, who had seemed to become non-existent at some point, also arrived at the field. He appeared to be shocked by the recent events that had transpired, but he still had a job to do. So, he announced Xiao Fan as the winner and continued the tournament.

After everyone calmed down, Ning prepared to make his move. Nudging the fatty beside him, he conveyed his intention.

"Fatty Li, I am going to challenge someone next, so I'm going to go."

Fatty Li was surprised before nodding in agreement. Unlike him, Ning's reason for competing had been clear from the start, so he offered encouragement. "Don't worry, I'll cheer you on."

"Thanks." Ning's smile was gentle yet determined.

He couldn't afford to waste any more time. What if someone challenged Wei Fa before him? Then he would have to face a completely different opponent. Although he had gathered some information about the top ten, it wasn't as comprehensive as his knowledge of Wei Fa. He didn't want to challenge just any random guy, so as soon as the previous match ended, he took to the stage.

"I want to challenge the fifth-ranked disciple, Wei Fa," Ning said to the elder, who nodded. The elder glanced at him from top to bottom and then nodded once again as if understanding something.

The elder called out, "Disciple Wei Fa!"

Once again, the audience became interested.

"Someone is challenging Wei Fa?"

"Wasn't he the unknown third-stage disciple from before?"

It wasn't exactly common for someone to directly challenge a fifth-stage disciple. Of course, the protagonist was an exception, but he was a weirdo, so that didn't count.

Wei Fa appeared on the stage, his face devoid of emotion, as if he was already dead inside. This time, he didn't engage in trash talk and assumed his famous mountain stance. It seemed he knew that Ning would try to speed blitz him with his overwhelming speed. But Ning was prepared for that.

"Ready? Fight?"

As soon as the word dropped, Ning ran toward Wei Fa like a speeding bullet. He used the bone-forging fist, which brought a violent wind as if it would blow Wei Fa apart.

Wei Fa's expression didn't change. Facing a mortal rank attack, he was confident that his top-rank defense would hold up. He suffered some damage, but it wasn't much as he expected. However, this was just the beginning.

As if expecting such expectations, Ning used the arm that had been used to block as a foothold and jumped over Wei Fa, landing behind him without making any sound. He then launched a punch towards him. The weakness of the Mountain Stance was obvious—it couldn't defend the user's back. However, since Wei Fa was a big guy, to begin with, this weakness was often not apparent.

Wei Fa felt the impact this time as he coughed up a little blood, his face contorting with pain. When he turned back to punch Ning, he didn't see anyone. Then suddenly, he felt another strong punch land on his back. He was dumbfounded.

"What the hell? I didn't even see the shadow or hear any sound. Is this guy a ghost?"

The same situation happened again and again, and Wei Fa's expressionless face couldn't hold up any longer as he felt the pain increasing. Was he going to lose in this way?

No.

Suddenly, Wei Fa opened his eyes, determined not to lose showing this embarrassing display. Since the beginning of the fight, he hadn't even seen the face of his attacker. He was being toyed with.

So, he tried something that only a kid would attempt—a spinning punch. He spun around with his fist extended, convinced that it would hit the slippery guy. Wei Fa hadn't gotten over his defeat against Xiao Fan and was mentally affected.

It was no wonder that he came up with a plan that seemed big-brained but unfortunately wasn't. His plan was simple at a glance—to become a Beyblade and spin around until he hit his opponent.

After spinning round and round, yet never hitting anything, Wei Fa looked around and spotted Ning in the distance with a smile, one reminiscent of Xiao Fan, In a moment of dizziness, he seemed to see Xiao Fan's face overlapping with Ning's, especially that mocking smile, which caused him to completely lose it.

Then all he seemed to see was red. Wei Fa abandoned his mountain stance and charged toward Ning like a bull, his fists clenched tight, ready to send Ning flying away, not noticing the smile creeping on his opponent's face.

Ning remained calm, he did not let the fact that his plan succeded cloud his judgment as he watched the charge coming toward him at great speed.

When Wei Fa got close enough, Ning's eyes seemed to sparkle as he assumed the Bone Forging Fist stance and launched a blow at his attacker. Wei Fa smirked at that. If he could block it once, then he could block it twice.

But in a state of rage, he forgot that he was only able to block the attack earlier because he was already in the mountain stance.

According to Wei Fa's prediction, the time it took for Ning to launch an attack was more than enough for him to raise his block. This guy was obviously unaware of Murphy's Law as he smirked.

And the last thing he saw was that before he could even raise his hand, a fist was right in front of him. That fist was twice as fast as the fist thrown at the start of the match. Wei Fa was caught off guard.

HUH?

Then Wei Fa was punched in the face, his smirking expression contorted as the momentum from his run and Ning's unexpected punch sent him flying. He spun around twice and dramatically collapsed on the stage.

The last thing he saw was a gentle smile before his consciousness bade him farewell.

Throughout the entire fight, Wei Fa was like a marionette dancing to Ning's tune. He had been played to death, of course, not literally.
