Supreme Magus in another world
Chapter 4 – Director of Kuzgad System

Chapter 4 – Director of Kuzgad System

Sitting on the ground, Caesar glances earnestly at the rubble that formerly served as a gas station and its numerous customers.

Killed in a fierce engagement against the Eternal One, Myrva.

To think that the Supreme Magus Kuratauras was my previous life is surreal.

I feel weird because the memories of my previous and current lives are now mixed.

Caesar made a motion of grabbing and pulling with his right hand and said, "Let's see." It looks like I didn't break any bones. "

"It's great that I didn't break any bones even though the bleeding was pretty bad."

"Whatever the case..." Caesar combs his hair and smiles, "I exploited the reincarnated cycle to get a new life, but to think I have been spending my life pitifully like this."

Caesar got up and dusted his dirty clothes. "Let's get moving."

"Okay! Let's try moving my mana flow first. " Caesar sucked in a breath of air and meditated calmly.

My mana is flowing without any problems. I got lucky.

The more that Caesar meditates, the more a yellow light of energy begins to flow around him, and he also begins to notice that his mind is becoming clearer.

"Good!"

After around five minutes, Caesar began to become aware of a bundle of energy that was accumulating in his stomach and then proceeded to discharge it all over his body. In Caesar's mind, something akin to neurons was connecting together and forming a spark of light that was shining brightly.

> [Establishing Connection To Kuzgad System]

"Hmm?"

> [Beginning the Awakening]

>

> [Welcome, Player Caesar. From now on, you are an awakened]

Caesar was taken aback as he peered up into the sky and noticed the system panel message that was flashing just above his head. "What?" Caesar exclaimed.

18 years ago, when the gate first appeared. The being introduced itself as the Director of Kuzgad System and began conversing with humanity. The Kuzgad director randomly chose people to awaken with an ability. Leveling up with the experience gained and being able to use skills.

It was a straightforward ability, akin to the game system itself. Humanity adapted to this ability and thus was able to fight against the monsters.

"But to think that that ability applies to me as well." Caesar sighs as he takes off his helmet. "Probably because my soul and my physical body are completely different entities."

"The being called "Kuzgad Director" isn't originally from Earth either."

"Status Window!" Caesar said with an expression of keen attention.

As Caesar was checking his stats, he exclaimed in surprise, "Huh?"

Caesar tried to touch the screen, but his hands just passed right through it. "Did my mana increase because of what I just did?"

"I just awakened, but I don't have any jobs." Caesar smiled and said, "I see." So I am an irregular. "

"I should gather some mana, even a little bit, since I don't know what will happen." Caesar sighs and starts to meditate.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

As a yellow glow of energy wraps itself around Caesar, he begins to experience a surge of pleasure over his whole body.

... GATHER...

The yellow energy starts to congregate and forms around his heart, and as more energy comes, the bigger it becomes.

Good... Just like this.

After a certain period of time had elapsed, the energy began to transform into a translucent state, and a ring began to take shape around it.

"Finished." It quickly infused into Caesar's soul and body of heart at the same time.

> [You have acquired the skill "Magic"]

I expected nothing less from a being of the gods. To analyze my status immediately

> [You have acquired a new job. You have acquired a job 'Apprentice Magician']

"Apprentice magician? So it doesn't know all of my information? " Caesar pondered in amazement and said, "So it doesn't know I have all the memories from my previous life?"

"Hmm.. I don't know if it's an ability of the gods or godly ability..."

Caesar touches the job area in the panels, and a new screen pops up to reveal the particular specifics of the information.

Jobs Apprentice Magician An apprentice who is still learning and is in the process of acclimating knowledge as a foundation for the roads ahead.

"Let's move as I gather some mana."

"Right now, keeping control of the mana as I move shouldn't be hard to do at all for me." Caesar said.

> [Mana status has increased by 0.01]

"Good." Caesar laughed heartily and said, "Nice to see the results right away!"

"Hmm... But isn't this bad?" As Caesar took in his surroundings, he noticed that the once bustling place where the awakened would go to rest after their hunt was now filled with smoke and buildings that had been destroyed all over the place. On occasion, you may come across a corpse dressed in military gear or an ordinary citizen covered in burns; some of these victims may have even been crushed to death by falling rocks.

Caesar sighs as he looks at the destroyed tanks and armor trucks that were used to defend the line, but it is clear that they did not hold out for very long. "Even the military had also fallen."

This location was also well-known to the general public as the front line of defense that stood between the monsters and the humans. Currently, combined forces of awakened ones and the military are defending the line against hordes of monsters that keep pouring out of the gates.

It is obvious that if this location ever falls, the city will be overrun by monsters, which will have a negative impact on humanity as a whole.

"But the defenders are now falling from the sky." "If the final defense line had been broken, does that mean the monster strong enough to break through the defense had appeared?"

As Caesar made his way alongside the fields of dead bodies and came to a stop, the sound of blood being spilled everywhere could be heard. In his vision, he saw a young woman who appeared to be in her 20s looking up at the sky with her eyes wide open as she lay in a pool of her own blood. She was filled with regret and yearning. He crouches downs and closed her eyes with his hands and sighs.

"Should be impossible for me right now."

And it's not as if I can revive the dead people here.

"Let's get going already."

The moment he got up, he saw a box that was half open, as red beads of crystal were littered everywhere around it. Caesar was shocked. "Is that really?"

"Core?"

"There is quite a bit. Pretty good size. It would sell for a good price." Caesar laughed happily and said. "I am guessing the core transport vehicle was nearby but was caught up in the explosion."

"Let's see."

Caesar took up one of the cores, and as he extended his hand, a peculiar light began to form around the stone. This light gradually transformed into a source of light that could shine extremely brilliantly, although having substantially decreased in size.

In my previous life, these were called the magic stones.

A core is a source of mana that is solidified like a rock. This would be extremely useful for someone who doesn't have too much mana.

Caesar squinted as he looked at the now smaller stone and grinned. "This one's purity is actually pretty good."

"I can definitely make use of these."

"I got lucky. 32 cores would actually go for about $7,200."

As he says that, Caesar chugs the remaining stone into his backpack and starts to look around the surroundings. "Now, where is my scooter?"

Caesar eventually located his scooter after what seemed like an eternity of looking, but when he got a look at it, he realized that it was no longer the scooter he was familiar with. It was now covered in burn and scratch marks all over its exterior, and one of its tires had come off.

"After all... Hoping this will survive the explosion might be asking for too much."

"Using magic for a scooter feels a bit wasteful," Caesar laughed as he wondered if it was a really good idea to use magic for something like this.

Caesar began to position the refined stone in a circular configuration that was jam-packed to the brim with mysterious symbols and enchanted runes. It gave off the vibe of being one of a kind while also giving off the impression of being utterly beautiful at the same time.

Caesar placed his last pieces of stone and said, "I can't help it since I need transportation right now."

"Okay! Finished."

Within the center of the circle made by the twelve magic stones stood the scooter. In spite of the fact that nothing was done to activate them, the formations continue to gleam brilliantly as a result of the processed stone that Caesar honed to its utmost potential.

Caesar then centered his palm in the midst of the formations and began chanting. In response to his actions, a ring of light emanated from his palms began to grow in size. As time passed, the scooter gradually faded away.
