Chapter 3: Close Contact with Primitives

When the newly created Sovereign Order of the Remnants realized that the communication to their homeland suddenly ceased, which was expected, it was impossible to detect anything beyond the system without going directly there themselves because of losing connection with the megastructure Sentry Array, and they had been transferred themselves to a completely new strange planet, they launched the available science ships who recently returned from the other planets to all directions.

The Council judged that the Order can't survive with just herself in space without colonizing any planets although their total supply can last them 2 decades. They need to immediately enter a diplomatic relation with the primitive nations and secure land to establish farming districts to produce food, so they acted in a speed that was unprecedented before. But with recent reports, only 2 Class M Planets were surveyed including this one so they are forced to directly contact the primitives and they are not a voidborne species.

First of all, to find out the possibility of initiating diplomatic relation with civilized primitives seems plausible, which they had discovered at the southern direction, the Remnant Coucil has decided to dispatch diplomats alongside with the largest ship they currently had that can enter the atmosphere, the Cruiser FSS Polaris which has a length of 2km and is armed with 4 Tri MK III Advanced Railguns, 2 Quad MK XI Coilguns, 1 MK II Kinetic Cannon, 2 Dual Type56 X-ray laser cannons and 5 Advanced Point Defense cannons. Gunboat Diplomacy was chosen to scare and show the primitives that we mean business.

The reason this ship was chosen too was to thread the unknown biosphere of the Hyperion Core where anything could happen was since this ship could operate 10 fighters and 4 shuttles at the most, can accommodate a large amount of personnel and its adaptability and versatility are high.

The Remnant Navy has been preparing it to sail out at any time ever since the transfer, so after the diplomat boarded, Polaris immediately departed.

Behind Polaris outside the visual radius, there were several destroyers to escort Polaris. Properly speaking, there should be several destroyers following at its surrounding, but they put the concern that the other party might get alarmed more than necessary.

FSS Polaris carefully decelerated and launched a shuttle from the hangar and steadily approached the ship. Since there was no other native warship, the natives seem to be panicking and staring at the shuttle as it comes close.

The shuttle hovered beside the tiny ship and lowered down a boarding walk. 8 men wearing dark blue metallic armor carrying weapons of unknown capabilities exited the craft with a man in white uniform wearing an officers cap joined the group.

The man in white uniform knowing that they haven't deciphered their primitive language, gestured to the entrance of the shuttle indicating they are inviting them

A man came forward and said he was the captain of the ship. The Remnant officer after not understanding what the native said, assumes that he is the captain judging by his attire.

The crew guided the natives to the inside of Polaris where they will talk with the diplomat.

Midori was bewildered.

Is this place really the inside of a ship? It was such a wide deck that made he thought that they even could perform cavalry battle at this place(FSS Polaris' Hangar). At such place, there were several people who wear strange clothing and didn't carry a single weapon, stood before him. Perhaps he was the person in charge who will talk with Midori, one of the men who wear a refined clothing stepped forward.

There were no other people at the deck, but a ship this big would have incredible number of crew. If, for example, Midori's group kill these men, then they wouldn't be able to return to their own ship alive. Nevertheless, since the other party seemed to have no hostile intention, Midori mustered his courage and began to talk.

"I am Captain Midori of Warship Pima from Qua-Toyne Principality Navy's 2nd Fleet. This location is the adjacent sea of Qua-Toyne Principality, if you proceed beyond this then you will enter our country's territorial water. A newly emerging nation away from the Civilized Lands, declared war against the whole Second Civilized Land where the second strongest country of Five Major Power of the Three Great Civilized Lands was located. Even recklessness should have a limit.

"I will serve as the conference chairperson, Qua-Toyne Principality's Foreign Minister Rinsui. Nice to meet with you...... This might be sudden, but Honorable Sirs from the Order, may I question the purpose of your country for this visit?"
