“So, which one will be your evolution?”
Bob suddenly appeared. Weirdly, the overwhelming pressure that he exuded before was gone.
I could feel he was there, but it seemed ethereal. Almost like I was imagining him.
“Actually, your are asking the wrong questions!” I smirked at my own brilliance. “I have decided, yes, but not exactly as you think.”
“What have you decided?” I saw how he, very humanly so, furrowed his brows.
“I'm glad that ask! I have decided that I will evolve to [Advanced Corrupted Bloodshaper].”
I paused dramatically, holding a finger up in the air.
“And that I will learn [Corrupted Divinator].”
“That's impossible!” Bob quickly reacted to my decision.
Exactly as I was expecting.
“See, that's were you are wrong.” My smile was as big as it had ever been since I had been summoned to this world. “It is normally impossible. That is, normally, you are the gatekeeper of all [Class Book]. The poor souls that get here only get to pick one, and that book contains only the data, steps, or whatever there is in there, to evolve to a single class.”
I stopped to breath, words were coming out of my in rapid fire. I was honestly afraid I would forget my own argument if I took to long.
“However, I only have one [Class Book]. And, as a matter of fact, it is already mine. So, no matter what you think, that's what I am going to do.”
I loved seeing how his face contorted into an ugly expression of disgust and disapproval.
“You can do that, but you should not to that.” Bob finally said. “There are good reasons we don't normally give more than one book. Too many big changes at once have a high change of making your body-”
“Corrupt?” I said and waited for him to realize how stupid the phrase was.
He stopped blinking for ten full seconds. His breath stopped; his chest flat and unmoving. Suddenly, his eyes started moving in all direction inside its sockets. It took five more seconds for him to regain his humanity.
“Evolutions do not work like that. Do you agree?”
“I do?”
“The System hereafter, and its maintainers by extension, take no responsibility of its undue usage. Do you agree?”

“I do?”
“Great! Then I will proceed to set yo-”
“Wait!” I quickly interrupted Bob. “I was wondering, will my second class also be hidden from identification?”
“No, only your [Corrupted Bloodshaper] class is locked.”
“That’s… could you lock it for my second class?”
“I am not authorized to do that.”
“The very System is not authorized to do it?” I was shacking my head. “What will people see?”
I had already seen that the information displayed was never the real and exact class of the person. For instance, I could see someone was a [Rogue], but not exactly the class name.
“People without enough insight into the System would only see [Divinator] as your class. Others will be able to see the full name.”
“And I suppose you are not authorized to tell me who this others are, right?” Bob nodded and I rolled my eyes. “So, potentially corruption will come find me, whatever that means, or some random person might see I’m corrupted and kill me.”
Bob nodded again.
“I suppose I needed some more risk in my life. Let’s do it!”
“Great! Then I will proceed unlock your evolution path and second class. Please hold tight.”
My head started playing elevator music while waiting for something to happen. I was brazing for impact, holding tight to my dear life, expecting some magical kick to throw me out of existence.
But none of that happened.
“Great! I would normally give you the [Class Book] now, but that won’t be necessary today.”
I sat cross-legged on the floor and opened the book by the [Advanced Corrupted Bloodshaper] page. There were now two new options right under the name.
[Do you wish to evolve [Corrupted Bloodshaper] into [Advanced Corrupted Bloodshaper]? Y/N] [Do you wish to learn [Advanced Corrupted Bloodshaper] as your second class? Y/N]
I wish to evolve it.
And the magical kick came. A stinging pain that travelled all of my energy and sent shivers to my body. An itching sensation that, no matter how hard I scratched—and I did—wouldn’t go away.
It lasted only for a few seconds, enough to make me fear what would happen next.
I turned the pages until I found my next target.
[Do you wish to learn [Corrupted Divinator] as your second class? Y/N]
I took as much air in as I could, tightened my punches and closed my eyes.
Yes.
This time it didn’t kick me. I was ran over by a train of magic. My head snapped backwards and my body followed closely behind. I smashed the ground hard, bouncing a few times until coming to a rest.
This was brutal, I barely manage to think.
If my energy in this place had taken this bad of a beating, what had exactly happened to my body? I could see why Bob felt compelled to warn me. And I hoped my bravery was not misplaced.
The world around me started fading.
Bob disappeared.
The sea of energy also.
“I will follow your career with high interest. I hope my parting gift finds you well.”
An ethereal voice, perhaps Bob’s or the System true voice, reached me right before I could feel my real body again.
And it did not feel right.
My hands were hanging at my head’s height.
My body was dropping to the front, held only by my neck.
My knees were touching cold and harsh stone.
And my head felt like that time I had drunk so much that I couldn’t even remember my name.
What’s going on here?
