Ever since the Inter-Stellar Security Force had killed god ~500 years ago, and established the Inter-Stellar Free Zone(I-S FZ), they'd taken up the mantle of guardians (of the galaxy, one might say), and, contrary to their predecessor, they aren't tyrants plotting the destruction of humanity. The I-S SF was an unrelenting force for good. Ever since Darek's roommate, a dragon, had applied to join it, Darek had made up his mind, he would join as well. The death of god ~500 years ago had been the marker of the beginning of the steady decline of the Earthen Empire, towards neighbors and rebellions, until they'd lost their crown jewel, their namesake, Earth, to the Inter-Stellar Security Force. Isabelle had been interested in the I-S SF since it had taken Earth from the Earthen Empire 24 years ago, judging from what she'd heard of it(outside of imperial propaganda, of course), it was some sort of communist paradise. The thick smog would make the perfect cover for her escape.
